Hey gang. I've been in search of the typical brick and mortar house brand tobacco flavor I've found in so many different shops. It's something RY4 based maybe.
It's often called things like ry80 or cowboy or sweet tobaccy. But it's usually the same. Something sweet with minor nutty notes and maybe some butterscotch.
I have a lot of tobacco concentrates.
INW:
555 Milano gold Tobacco Virginia Gold ducat DNB wg Scamel RY4
TFA:
RY4 Double
FA: Cowboy Blend
Hangsen: 555 Congress Deluxe tobacco Desert ship Flue cured (fresh out)
I have FA butterscotch and caramel I have capellas French vanilla caramel and Bavarian cream
I have graham cracker and vanilla bourbon and brown sugar extract.
And of course I have TFA Acetyl Pyrazine that I add almost always to tobaccos in varying amounts.
I hope to be pointed in the direction of a tobacco discussion or to start one.
I have made many delicious tobacco flavors, many of them shake and vapes. I don't steep often. Maybe I should.
My best guess for house juice tobaccos would be TFA RY4 Double at something like 12%. Because it's cheap, easy, and a lot of people would say it tastes good.
Other than that I guess I'm not really sure what you're looking for. I've never had an RY80 or anything like that, so I have no idea what they taste like.
Might be interested in Super Concentrates tobaccos. Blended, Captain, Cigar, Turkish would all be pretty good with some AP, caramel, and Vanilla. Maybe even just the SC RY4 is what you're looking for.
have you tried tfa western? if so how is it?
what percent for fa butterscotch?
I don't have a very strong relationship with it. At first, I tasted cough medicine. So it sat unused for a few months. Then I made a juice for someone that used it, and decided to give it another go. Went much better, so I used it in a recipe that was giving me some trouble, and it came out alright. Definitely better than INW Western (that one made me nauseous) and FA Cowboy (just kinda nasty.) I think with some butterscotch it could be workable. I use it with INW French Pipe and SC Knt, which have some cocoa notes to them, and it works pretty well. The French Pipe doesn't have a lot of flavor, and I think it ends up muting the whole thing, so I'll probably try again without it. But that's a little off topic. In short, it's better than INW Western and FA Cowboy for the leather note.
You want like house brand tobacco... I was gonna say INW black for pipe but that's too real .. honestly your best bet is
Jungle flavors ry4 double at 3% mix at 70% VG, that's it.
It's like TFA but cleaner while still being dirty. Idk how to make that make sense but you gotta try it to see. It's got the caramel up front, a zing of vanilla and a nice ashy/woody finish. Very well done RY4. Could vape all day. I usually add some vanilla and stuff for mouthfeel but just try it solo. you will not be let down, it's leaps and bounds better than tfa's version imo.
I don't have experience with most the flavors you listed but when I have someone ask me for this profile I hand them a mix with 3% JF RY4 double and they fuckin love it.
What recipes and percents have you tried?
Most everything I do doesn't go past 3%. I have heard that hangsen and inw are strong.
This one is bomb 3% Scamel INW 2% graham cracker CAP
I like 2% 555 Milano INW 2% desert ship HS .5 AP

Oh you're looking for recipes for some RY4 and nutty type things? I thought you were asking what the B&Ms are using. Here's some of mine that might fall in to those dessert type of tobaccos:
Vanillian Bucks - heavy on the vanillas and such. I can't really stand vanilla anymore because I vaped a very similar juice to this for about a year and a half straight.
Beeblebrox Clone - this is pretty close to Beeblebrox, but if you were to swap the Turkish with SC Cigar, I bet it'd be much closer. Haven't bothered trying because it's not really my style. But it'd be a good start for anyone that really likes that juice.
The Duke clone - I'd say this falls in the dessert/sweet "tobacco but not really" tobaccos. Fuckin' delicious whatever you call it.
West of Paris - It has some cocoa notes and AP. Not really sweet though. Not ADV type of profile for me, but it's pretty tasty.
Acid Blondie - Pretty sweet, and kind of creamy. Decent enough I suppose.
Smoky RY - Just like the name suggests.
A.D.G. Tobacco - some Graham Cracker, hint of raisin/prune, little bit of cinnamon tobacco, and a sweet tobacco leaf. I need to check up on this one. Shake and vape was ok.
Ghost on Ghost - Castle long minus vanilla add tobacco. Pretty excited about this one.
War of 5 Kings - If you're interested in a little hint of some fruit along with a nutty tobacco.
Mother Earth Tobacco - This one is brand new, but it seems interesting. It is steeping now so I can't say for sure.
Edit: Forgot my old favorite Hollywood Calls. It would honestly probably be better without the Latakia and Black Fire. I changed the total flavor percentage, which kinda messed all the numbers up. If I were to rework it, it'd look more like this:
INW 555 Gold- 2%
FA Glory- 1.5%
TFA Graham Cracker Clear- 1.5%
CAP Toasted Almond- 1% (or I'd do AP at 1% and leave out the Toasted Almond)
TFA toasted marshmallow- 1%
I bet that would taste better. On my third 450 ml bottle of this I started getting kind of sick of it. Who woulda thunk it?
That Ghost on Ghost recipe looks amazing. I love Black for Pipe, especially as the main note. (See my Tinted Limo recipe) I don't have Captain Jack, but I think I can throw in something like FA Rum or just omit it completely and still enjoy it.
TFA Red Oak Tobacco 4.5%, TFA Vanilla Swirl 1.5% is pretty close to the base of Beeblebrox, I've found.
Hi, we've talked on another account - at length, about this very recipe. I failed you as a test ... person, and dropped communications when I swapped out for a new account. Red Oak is something I've had stashed for many, many moons and kind of forgot about. Recently dug back into the older-stuff-stash to make up a few base juices and flex the tobacco muscle a bit more. Almost 5% of Red Oak and I knew it was hitting familiar notes.
I throw in about 1.5%, 2% FA Oakwood with it to round it out. I'm sure it's (in reality) much more complex than the two ingredients alone, but I'm 99.99999% convinced that Red Oak is the base flavor for that one.
Just two pennies I thought I'd toss around.
Hangsen RY1 Maybe its my only straight tasting tobacky.
what percentage do you mix it at?
2% Is fine for me. Also this flavor seems to me the same as inhaling through a cigarette before lighting it that flavor and smell just like a cig lol. In mixes just a touch a drop or 2 in Double RY4 makes it more my style. I am out of both at the moment and It would be about the 5th time I've purchased that Hangsen RY1. So for me its a good flavor. Kinda old school so its a possibility of it being in some well known Juices.

from the component list. bold looks like it could be what you described. perhaps they are adding that to something else or ap and butterscotch.

Cyclotene/Corylone7 - sweet, maple, bready, caramellic with nutty nuances
Ethyl Maltol sweet, burnt cotton sugar candy like, with jammy, strawberry notes

the possibilities are endless
but based on what you have ima recommend ....
3-4% scamel / 1-2% fa butterscotch? (idk ahvent tried mine yet)
the weird thing is fa soho tastes jsut like inw scamel to me. however, fa recommends 20% for soho which is insanely high. im not advising you try that with scamel . or know how thats relevant idk anymore. man listen to them.

That might be because TFA Western used to be called Cowboy. I guess people prefer vaping the West than they do Cowboys.
When mixed fresh, Western smells like a freshly opened pack of marlboro cigarettes - I guess that's where the name came from, I love it but not sure its what stores would use. Just got it a few days ago and currently experimenting with it. On the SnV it gives quite a throat hit and is pretty potent but seems to mellow out over time, waiting on a 2 week steep, hopefully it keeps the same aroma but without the harshness.
EDIT: In my experience with store bought liquids, most house tobaccos are usually TFA RY4 Double at varying percentages. In a pinch, I have no problem vaping 6-8% RY4 Double as a standalone. One store I bought from had about 6 different tobaccos. One was straight up 12% TFA RY4 Double with sweetner, the others had slight differences like more butterscotch/vanilla, one had western mixed into it (this was really good), one had what tasted like vanillin and FA Nut Mix, etc.. just variations.

ive seen house recipes named after their tfa ingredients like:
- ry4 double
- black honey
- turkish

Yeah I think it has something to do with the fact that RY4 can be a shake and vape. As a flavor test I tried it at 10% SnV, then realised that 3 of the different RY4 commercial/house juices I've bought were exactly this. I'd gladly mix up a batch of this in a pinch whilst waiting for others to steep.
The store line juices with the name similar to the concentrate are usually just that flavor with maybe some enhancers. As an example, the place I buy my concentrates from also has a juice line so I picked up a bottle of his "Western" flavor since it was so hyped among the local community. Was nothing more than 10-12% RY4, maybe 4% max Western and up to 2% Sucralose. Couldn't vape more than 15ml, too sweet for me.
I have cowboy and desert ship. I use about 1%-2% and then accent with caramel, or a vanilla bean ice cream, or custard. If you want menthol at all run it like 0.25% it's very mild.
Tobacco flavoring is super strong and Earthy for the first week or two of steep. Two weeks it really mellows out. So you need to find something else that loves a steep for complexity and keep everything below 3%, as you mentioned. The color should be like orange and honey colored, transparent.
