July Monthly Clone Challenge
submitted about 8 years ago by ID10-TWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

Howdy, mixers!

I think we have to give MVP of the June Challenge to /u/thegoldenstatevapor themselves, for their fun and magnanimous response to the honor of being the victim of a clone challenge. They will be contacted about a small token of appreciation.

The purpose behind this monthly clone challenge is to gather the community behind an effort to clone just one juice.

The subject of this month's challenge is White Gummi by Moku Oyatsu, which is described as "Bursting with white gummy bear flavor & a quick fix to a sweet tooth" and as "gentle and mellow...soft and chewy."

This was requested by /u/CJHaskellhoff, and seconded by several others.

A reminder from the previous clone challenge posts: You are perfectly welcome to completely ignore the cloning aspect of this challenge and just consider the juice description as a prompt to create a recipe all your own with that profile.

In this case, that would be White Gummi Bear. I'd be looking at TFA Dragonfruit, CAP Dragonfruit, INW Dragonfruit, pineapple flavors used very low, CAP Jelly Candy, TFA Gummy Candy, FW Gummy Bear, and maybe tiny accents of other fruits like jackfruit and peach.

Please respond with recipes for White Gummi by Moku Oyatsu, ideas about how to start an attempt to clone that flavor, your own delicious white gummy recipe, general thoughts about having a monthly clone challenge, hate mail, love letters, lewd artwork, dirty limericks, comments, questions, concerns, anything remotely on topic. Thank you. Love you all.

Inw dragonfruit feels like a must here, maybe accenting with something for that jelly feel and some pineapple to make it pop. Anyway, happy cloning people! If I do something I'll probably mix it up a bit.

It cracks plastic tanks, so there is probably tpa pineapple in it.

It also has a noticeable amount of sucralose.

I vaped this juice basically every day from August 2016 until I started mixing (3 weeks ago).

I will hazard a guess on the recipe for this:

2.0% dragon fruit (inawera) 1.0% pineapple (tpa) 1.0% marshmallow (FA) 0.5% gummy candy (tpa) 0.5% sucralose

update:

3.5% dragonfruit (inw)
2.5% marshmallow (fa)
0.5% pineapple (tpa)
0.5% sucralose (or 1% erythritol if you prefer)
0.25% cactus (inw)

the tpa gummy candy didnt lend any gummy characteristics, just a cherry cough syrup undertone.

What kind of setups were you using? I'm asking because 0.5% Gummy Candy would probably be unnoticeable in something like a Nautilus Mini but would be plenty if you were sub-ohming that stuff in something that delivers flavor.

Dual ss316L alien (28x38) in a goon 1.0 on a lavabox DNA 200. Anything higher than 0.5% gummy candy tpa and 1.5% pineapple tpa completely overtakes everything else in the mix for me.

Yep, that makes perfect sense. That's plenty of Gummy Candy for you.

I taste TFA Strawberry Ripe, FA Kiwi, Cap Golden Pineapple and TFA Swedish Gummy. Just haven't put together for a clone attempt yet. Its so good though.

has anyone else tried cloning this? i can't take the original anymore due to the sucralose overload, but love those velvety clouds of white gummi.

We've only been doing this monthly clone challenge since March, that still counts as new, right?

I've been mixing with inw cactus a lot recently, there deffinately has to be some of this in there.

Well, given I've never had this juice, I made a few mixes trying to match the description. End result? They all suck. Turns out I fucking hate dragonfruit. I'm only dropping this turd-kernel of info to hopefully garner a response from someone who had any form of success with this clone...

IMO, this monthly thread can be an invaluable tool towards becoming a better mixer, and I'd hate to see it die after all the comments roll in on the first day or two, then bleeh.

Vapoeran: Ophelia Chocolate, caramel and peanut, that tells you something? A blend a priori explosive and very caloric ... Not in this eliquide, which nevertheless makes gluttony a first art. Ultra realistic, milk chocolate is sweet, while the pean comes to bring its woody note and slightly salty. To be sent on a dripper because this juice deserves a big cloud of steam. (translated)

Did anyone get close to this? I tried writing to moku oyatsu to see if they will share the recipe but no reply. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Socket fucker, I must say that's a new one. It also makes me picture a hexagonal peen for some strange reason.

I actually have a hexagonal peening hammer for working lead, I've never seen another, ever. I'm guessing mine is from Isreal, early 1900's. Random fact.
