Has anyone here ever tried to make this work? I think it would be tremendously helpful to mixers of every skill level to be able to meet up 4-5 times a year and try each other's recipes in order to share criticisms, and offer ideas.
If someone were ambitious enough, they could seek non-profit status, and collect dues for things like group buys, newsletter, etc.
I'm just curious if anyone has participated in a local DIY organization, and if not, is this an idea that sounds interesting to you?
It's not local but the closest thing I've heard to this is the MixersClub here on reddit. You send it 4 bottles of your recipe and in return get 4 bottles of other people's recipes. You critique them and post in on the reddit. It's pretty cool.

Come check us out. It's a lot of fun, we all critique each other's recipes, score them, and the top scorer receives some cool shit at the end of the year. All the relevant info for joining is on the front page. We even have themes every month for bonus points.
I'd love to be in on that but im in the uk so I think shipping and return may be quite costly. If there's interest from other uk members it may be worth setting up a "uk branch"

I used to meet once in a while with a couple friends to mix. We had a good time. Then /u/billgarmsarmy ruined my life by giving me an ADV I can't get over, like a bad case of the clap.

This monstrosity. I use TPA Brown Sugar X, and I switch up the Toasted Almond between Cap & TFA (not a huge difference).
I heard you didn't even give him gold. =(
Didn't know at the time that I'd still be vaping it nonstop 1.5 years later.
Also, I mod a couple different sites, and the relationship between mods and Reddit is strained to say the least. Not many of us are willing to give them our money in addition to our unpaid labor.
