Slightly offtopic, but continuing from this post, what are some flavors that failed as a vape, but you found great to use in other things?
And why do you think they failed as a vape?
An example of mine is French Vanilla Creme. Ive tried both TFA's and Capella. Something about vaping this flavor turns me off, but it works perfect in foods.
I think the reason is because of the Anisyl alcohol
(BTW: you can learn a lot about flavors by looking at TFA's ingredient specsheet here : http://shop.perfumersapprentice.com/specsheetlist.aspx)
French vanilla creme, no matter the brand, has always tasted somewhat licorice-like, and the fact that the main flavor component of aniseed is in there is not surprising.
Vaping the flavor, the aniseed is really noticeable, but adding this same concentrate to a cup of coffee only enhances the coffee.
What have been some of your flavor fails been, that became magic for other stuff?
You can do many amazing things with FW Cookie Butter. Vaping it is not one of them.
It's probably for the best because if it tasted like actual cookie butter you'd quit mixing anything else.
I havnt tried them all but personally don't like how lemon/lemonade/lime vapes(only tried FA Sicily, lime cp, LA lemonade and CAP lemon lime) but I found them great for baking. I make lemon drop hard candy, gummy candy, fudge, Popsicles, cookies, cakes/frosting,homemade ice cream , add it to lemon curd/pie filling.
I'm an avid baker so when I buy a flavor I don't like to vape there's a 99% chance I'll use it in baking. If your wanting to try the flavouring for baking the weaker flavour(5-10%) start with 1/4 of what you'd use with grocery store extracts , with stronger flavours(1-3%) start with 1 drop and taste/add another drop until it's strong enough. The CAP bottles have recommendations on the original bottles and recommend to start 1 drop per ounce of beverage/food.
peach rings. love the flavor, but it lasts 1-2 vapes and then i cant taste it anymore and it just burns and tastes bad.
Have you tried mixing it with something more "tart" like FA Fuji or maybe LA Lemonade? I haven't tried it , but it sounds like it might be tasty. :)
Spearmint. I love the smell and taste of fresh spearmint, in gum and other things. I have tried every spearmint flavoring that I could find to use in my mixes and one drop or multiples has the same effect for me... it does not taste good no matter how long I let it steep.
Out of interest, which one's have you tried? Is there much difference between them? I've been using FA Spearmint for about 2 years, but I've never bothered to try any others.
FA Spearmint was probably the most pleasant of the spearmints that I tinkered with. I still have a bottle here that I use from time to time when we make ice cream. I'll see if my buddy still has any of the other spearmints, I gave all except the FA, to him when I gave up on using that flavor in my juices.
Even though I really like spearmint, it's just been one of those flavors that does not taste good to me when vaping.
