Help me make an amazing sour mango - I'm part of the way there!
submitted about 8 years ago by ShittyStrawman

First, a bit of background;

I never used to be a fan of mango Vapes, I think this is because vendors never managed to balance the flavour and it always ended up being WAY too floral, or just lost entirely in the mix.

I work in a Vape shop, and two brands in particular have forever changed my view on mango Vapes, namely Nasty "Cush man" and Monstavape "screaming mango".

They both have an intense sweet, but also tart mango (no creaminess), and a large amount of what I can only assume is cooling agent WS-23 (I hate menthol, Koolada is OK, but this stuff is AMAZING). The only thing i dislike about these juices is the INSANE amount of sweetner in them, it destroys coils and just isn't my thing (plus they're silly expensive post TPD).

The start of my mango journey led me to FLV mango and CAP sweet mango.

As soon as I cracked open the CAP sweet mango, I was sure it's the main element of those liquids, but as a standalone it's missing much of the juicy tartness of them.

I'd been recommended the FLV mango via reviews on here, and whilst it is really nice, it definitely has a "creaminess" which these liquids do not have, and seems like it would fit into a "mango lassi" kind of Vape.

I've seen here many times that INW cactus can add a kind of "rind" + "juiciness" which I feel the CAP is probably missing in my current attempts.

Other than this, I can only assume that there is some other brand of mango concentrate which will provide the tartness I'm looking for.

The question is - which one?

I've read all the mango threads, and people there were all looking to make creamy mango Vapes, AKA not what I'm looking for.

If anyone has any ideas, PLEASE share them so we can create a fantastic sweet/tart mango Vape!

try sweet guava goodness

read description and replace banana cream with mango flavours. i still not tried mango version of this juice, but if it's so good as original recipe - it should be amazing.

That's TFA Guava. One brand's guava (or any other flavor for that matter) can be wildly different from another's

Weird, I don't get that. Though I don't really like guava that much, especially the fruit as it's very...rotten fruit smelling.

Whatever you've got so far, I would add a drop or so of FLV's Guava. It has a bit of the sour bite and would prob not shine through the Mango (I find them to be a similar profile anyway).

Nicotine River GoldenEye is am amazingly good mango with a good sour punch. I doubt it's in the juices you mentioned but I HIGHLY recommend it if you're trying to do a sour mango mix

Might be a mixture of ripe and green mango

Another technique we use to get the sour taste is adding ambarella. Not sure how you can get the concentrate in US.
