Minor "plastic" aftertaste -- which flavor is causing it?

So, I've been working on a Raspberry Donut vape, and overall I'm really getting there with the flavor and I'm really happy with it. The only thing is, and this is the only way I can describe it, is that it has a bit of a plastic-y aftertaste and my mouth feels a bit filmy after vaping it. I'm curious if anyone can pinpoint exactly which ingredient I'm using that might be doing this? I'm thinking that it might be the raspberry -- I'm using Flavor Art's Raspberry.

I can actually help here. I have recently handled pure raspberry ketone, one of the main flavor chemicals of raspberry. And it smells like horribly burned plastic in high concentrations. Even lowering the concentration, it keeps a plastic smell and taste. It has to be mixed with other flavors to approach real raspberry taste, the relative concentrations really matter.

Yes same with me, FA raspberry is very strong in high concentration has a distinct plastic flavor, I usually don't go higher than 1% as it dries the mix, as for the film Mouth Feel try lower or leave out Joy because Zeppola has the same Mouth Feel

It's not always just one thing. Sometimes it's the way two or more things interact with each other. I'm afraid that might be the case there. You might have to make seven different versions of this, each one with one different ingredient left out, in order to pinpoint one that's not playing very nicely with the others. But first, single flavor test each one to see if you get that from any of them individually.

Seems like a lot of Joy, a ton of cookie and maybe a lil high on the raspberry. But ID10-T's advice is better than mine lol

How long are you steeping it before judging the mix?

I'm at about a week with this one. I usually try a shake-and-vape, then let it sit for 3-4 days, then a week, etc. I feel that this "mouth feel" is something that's developed since original fresh mix.

Capella Sweet Strawberry can give me that plasticy taste sometimes, even at low percentages. But as others have said, it's typically an interaction between flavours.

I added that because I wanted to sweeten it up a bit without going to sucralose as a sweetener, and keep with the fruity base. Any other thoughts on a flavor to give it more of a sweet edge?

I think it might be the zeppola at 3% that's causing it. I noticed an artificial taste in my standalone tests with that. I end up using it at like 1.5% in my recipe.

I'd avoid it altogether. It tastes nothing even remotely resembling raspberry to me.

Strawberry in beer will give a phenolic, plasticy, taste/aroma.

You could try for some caramel, but I would try it without any extra sweet stuff first.
