Inawera Shisha Bilberry [Flavor Review]
submitted over 8 years ago by twisted_dick

Setup: Goon 24 with 10-wrap SS316l 22ga dual coil and cellucotton wicks.

Testing: Inawera Shisha Bilberry @ 1% 70/30 6mg

Flavor Description: Dark, delicious blueberries bordering on boysenberry. I haven't single flavor tested FA Bilberry, but i have used it in recipes and i think this is darker. I love this flavor, very natural, not exactly syrupy, more like blueberries in blueberry pie. I don't get the sherbet i got with Shisha Lemon either. I could see this going jammy. I could also see this getting candy at higher percentages, I would recommend 1-2%. I don't think the candy would be hard candy, I think it would be more of a fruit gusher type blueberry.

Off-flavors: None. Might be a bit earthy, but I think that is accurate to bilberry.

Throat Hit: I noticed some throat hit with this flavor, and i never notice throat hit, so I imagine this is at least 7/10.

Uses and Pairings: This seems like it would be excellent as a blueberry in just about anything. I could even see it pairing well with something like Inawera Dark for Pipe. Definitely bakeries, like blueberry pie, blueberry jam donut, blueberry jam, blueberry jam on toast, blueberry muffin may be out because it is too juicy, but i could see this making a good blueberry jam on just about anything.

I don't notice the floral flavor he describes, but my taste buds aren't super sensitive.

Ok I found the flair button. I'm used to mobile and I don't think you can flair on mobile.

Mobile app or the mobile web page? I use redditisfun, when you click on your own post you should see something like this

Great review, I'm not a fan of FA Bilberry and it sounds as if this is a worthy alternative. This will definitely be added to my next order, thanks.

OP, quick question: what color is your concentrate? Can you compare the color of your Shisha Bilberry to the color of another concentrate? Where did you get this bottle from? u/ConcreteRiver and I have deduced that my 2 bottles of Shisha Bilberry are probably old stock, and we think the new version is less delicious. So I am wondering if you also got the old version. For reference, I recently got my bottles (<a week ago) from Vaperstek, and mine are roughly the same color as TFA Green Tea-- reddish-brown.

Mine is very slightly greenish yellow. lighter than flv boysenberry but darker than tfa strawberry ripe.

Thanks. It sounds like you've got the new one, according to other posts I've seen etc. and you just happen to like it more than Concrete does =D

Let's make a recipe for it. I've been wanting to use it.

I tested this one out tonight. It tasted to me like the skins of blueberries and a ton of blackberries were made into a taffy. I even had that tannic, dry mouth sensation toward the exhale. It was delicious.

Thx for the review. Solo tested it at 2%. Getting a verry cough sirup like flavor.. Also floral notes & a hint of clove.
