Thanks all who contributed to the Slushy FOTW last week, especially /u/ConcreteRiver who provided his slush theory that gave everyone some points to ponder.
As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a flavor and its many uses. And it's also to have FUN!
Post recipes containing this week's Flavor of the Week, as the star or in a supporting role, with or without development notes. Talk about other people's recipes that use it. Compare and contrast different manufacturers' versions of the FOTW. Ask for help using that flavor in general or to achieve something specific, offer advice, brainstorm ideas, consider substitutions, suggest pairings... really anything at all as long as it's on topic.
This week's flavor is: BUBBLEGUM. Did my "chews" pun hurt you? Blow me.

The only bubblegum flavor I've tried so far has been INW Bubble Gum, which I picked up for this recipe by /u/drumbtr. Still have not single-flavor tested it yet but I was blown away by how easily 2% of it pulled those other fruits in a seriously bubblegummy direction. I'll SFT it this week and provide a review if no one beats me to it.
I have two bubblegums I have picked up but not tried yet have that already been reviewed, CAP Bubble Gum and FLV Bubble Gum. They look good in a handful of recipes.
What I'd really like to see is whether anyone has successfully, in true DIYer fashion, tried to assemble your own bubblegum flavor without using a concentrate with "gum" in the name, like when /u/skiddlzninja, dissatisfied with all the dulce de leche flavors out there, decided to make his own.

I have concerns about "fruit of choice" - that might indeed lead to a really neat fruit gum, but what if I just want a big fat juicy wad of the pink stuff?
I have to say for me personally I really like to use FW bubblegum and LA bubblegum to make authentic bubblegum vapes. I don't personally own flv bubblegum but I hear great things about that one as well. Tpa bubblegum has its uses despite its throat hit. The chalkyness can be fantastic in something like a sweet tarts recipe.
Can you explain why FW and LA are better together than they are separately? Like, which "part" of authentic bubblegum are each of them bringing to the (underside of) the table?
Excuse my english. I like both but not necessarily together. I think they are both good bubblegum flavors. LA has a real bazooka vibe but it can get a bit chemically at higher percentages. FW is straight gumballs and really nails it. Cap is good for a juicy fruit flavor.
Inw Donald bubblegum and bubblegum yc at 2.5% each is my bubblegum base. It is excellent imo, but the percents could probably be lowered a bit, haven't experimented much as it's not my style of vape. I also plan on getting flv bubblegum but haven't as of yet. I do however believe that the inawera flavors together are more than sufficient for a great bubblegum mix, and they're cheaper than flv. They do stick in your coils though, I had to change cotton and coils in order to change flavors.
Why are Donald Bubblegum and Bubblegum YC better together than they are separately?
I don't know that they are, I just never create a profile with a single flavor, as they are usually missing something. I just started making bubblegum a week or two ago, so I haven't had time to really test them individually, I just know that that is a very strong bubblegum base. I will try and do some reviews of them individually, just depends on what kinda time I have. I do think the percents could be lowered to 1% or 1.5% each though. It's a very strong base.
I've been using cap bubblegum and LA bubblegum seperate in different recipes and really enjoy them. LA BG is chalkier and dryer than Cap BG but very authentic and ejoyable. Cap is sweeter and works better with berries like raspberries. I'm working on a blackcurrant, forest fruit bubblegum mix with a slight pineapple tartness.
Can someone elaborate more on Donald bubblegum INW or FLV bubblegum? Thanks
Did you see these notes on FLV? https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/64wl07/flv_bubble_gum/
I plan to mix up some single flavor tests and tonight and see if I agree with all that.
"Forest fruit bubblegum mix with a slight pineapple tartness" sounds terrific!
I've seen them but I was looking on any impressions on how it turned out within a mix. Sometimes a flavor can change drastically when used in a mix compared to the single flavor mix.
I just got blackcurrant FA and it's amazing, a little bit light for my palate and I was thinking about adding forest fruit to thicken it up and bubblegum to give it more texture. For the pineapple, i'm thinking cap golden pineapple with a hint of TFA pineapple for tartness. What do you think?
I think Forest Fruit is already blackcurranty for a mixed berry, and adding just a little of that will pull it harder toward a more currant-forward flavor. Working on a balance of the two, I'd probably think of it way rather than think about trying to use a little Forest Fruit to fix Blackcurrant. Forest Fruit already has just a hint of something going on in there like cross between an apricot and a pineapple so adding pineapple seems like a natural choice. My first pick would be INW Pineapple but failing that, CAP Golden sounds alright. If you decide to use TFA Pineapple, I would not go over 0.5%.
Although it sounds good, what I really don't know anything about is the bubblegum. No idea which one to choose or how much to use. I'm essentially a brand-new mixer when it comes to bubblegum so diving into them this week will be fun.
I just received Cap Bubble Gum last week. I mixed some of it yesterday with Harvest Berry. It definitely leaves a chalkiness taste in your mouth.
Someone that was in my mixing 202 class has submitted a recipe to make bubble gum. I am going to mix that today. It is pretty interesting.

I don't know anything about the CAP Bubble Gum since I just got it recently too and haven't opened it yet, but Harvest Berry seems like it would be perfect for mixing with a good bubblegum flavor.
Yo, /u/mlnikon - check out that bubblegum recipe. Don't know what that would actually taste like but that looks like it would have some real bubblegum mouthfeel to it.
I am a bit of candy head but haven't mixed a nice bubblegum yet but I am thinking that somewhat similar to slushy you want to select fruit flavors that line up with some of the gums already on the market. Just like slush I am thinking Flavorah grape for sure to nail grape hubba bubba style and FlavorahLime (with some lemon) to hit a Gatorade type gum...hmmm...The only gum base I have thus far is FW and perhaps something wrong with it because it so strong that 1 drop in a 15 ml and it will obliterate (in a bad way) anything in its path. Gum base should have a base flavor and texture I suppose. Looking forward to this! More linear in your face stuff...
> More linear in your face stuff...
I think you definitely want chewing gum bold, simple, and well-textured. Totally with you on the FLV Grape Hubba Bubba, if the right gum base can be found for it it seems perfect for that. Maybes me wonder whether FLV Grape + FLV Bubble Gum might be a two-ingredient winner.
a coworker asked me for a bright pink bubblegum vape, this is the mix i decided on:
https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/share/7369906b-f82c-4c17-8924-ff62b5a95199
3.5% (LA) Bubble Gum 0.5% (TPA) Bubblegum
but then .25% koolada and 1.25% TPA cotton candy on top of it for a fresh bite into a sugar coated chunk of pink gum. .25% cactus for some wetness.
TPA's bubblegum alone is a chalky and has an almost licorice backend to it so i didn't want to use too much of it. .5% rounds off the 3.5% LA BG nicely.
LA bubble gum, though, is a bright pink bubblegum that reminds me of those hunks of gum they throw at you from parade floats.
I didn't actually get to try much of it together since i'm not very interested in a bubblegum vape but they've since come back to me for more.
There's also FW Rainbow Line Gum which i think is pretty similar to Fruit Stripe bubblegum. It starts off tasting/smelling fairly chemical-y so a 3-6 day steep is a requirement. works best between 5-12%
The only other gum flavor i've had is TFA Bubblegum (Juicy) which is very similar to juicy fruit but it's got this overly banana flavor to it which doesn't totally match up to juicy fruit. It's fine solo.
One of my favorite Bubblegum recipes is Hubba Bubba. The recipe taste spot on.
> Hubba Bubba
> TFA Watermelon - 7%
> TFA Strawberry Ripe - 7%
> TFA Bubblegum - 5%
> Sweetener - 1%
I like it as is, but if you find the amount of flavoring overwhelming you could prob cut it down a little bit maybe by 20% which would be 5.5/5.5/4/1
