I'm sorry that's the only watermelon you have. It's not terrible, but it would be better with the addition of almost any other watermelon. Cactus and coldness are very good friends of watermelon but I would suggest starting with a small batch and starting them both lower, like 0.25% each, and adding more in subsequent batches if you think it needs more. Also, cactus will calm down with a steep, so if it does seem like too much, try it again after a week.

Depends on the reason for the caution. If the warning is about sugar syrup like it is for a number of flavors by Flavor West, as well as a few others, I personally tend to stay away from them. Mostly because I don't like rewicking and re-coiling. Somewhat because I'd rather not inhale known carcinogens created by burning sugar. But ask anyone with the flair "yellow cake apologist" and they'll have a different answer.

If the warning is for diketones like it is for a number of flavors such as Vanilla Custard by Capella, I assume it's probably very tasty and intentionally purchase it. It might be harmful, or it might not in the amounts actually taken in by vaping, studies have been inconclusive as far as I know. I'm just happy that it's definitely not as bad for me as smoking. In the end, we all accept that vaping is not 100% safe, it's about harm reduction, not harm elimination. How far you want to take that harm reduction is entirely up to you.

The best flavor I've had from any RDA is hands-down the Hadalay. It doesn't have a wide drip tip but IME that is a factor that affects flavor almost as much as AFC and chamber size. You can pick up a SXK clone for $16-$20 on eBay or around half that if you order from china (I prefer waiting 3 days instead of 3 weeks)

I think it's worth having one even if it's in addition to /u/EdibleMalfunction's solid recommendations.

It really depends on what kind of profiles you like to vape.

Everything chewy suggested, plus Cap Cereal 27. It is hard to beat for that profile.

I would grab a cap cinnamon danish swirl. Would go great with a lot of bakers and cookie flavors. Also definitely add cap vanilla custard v1 and sugar cookie if your okay with those.

Fa banana, TPA banana cream, cap vanilla custard v1, TPA cheesecake Graham crust, TPA strawberry ripe, and a couple from real flavors, the white chocolate super concentrate and strawberry SC.

White chocolate is excellent for adding some creamy flavor without overpowering anything else. I use it at 2% in fruit and cream recipes to really up the cream and mouth feel.

I also use it in my vanilla custard recipe that i feel is one of the best custards I've ever had.

As for cakes, it's not something I've done much with but JF Yellow Cake and FW Yellow Cake are both good concentrates. JF > FW IMO.

I have only tested Virginia twice, and put it on hold. I taste green hay even at .5%. Takes over the mix. Just not for me.

I will recommend FLV Native Tobacco. 2% standalone is the closest to a Winston or Marlboro to me. And it is very good after just 3 days steep. Leafy slightly ashy. See /u/t_mace review in the sidebar, he nailed it.

Those are definitely pretty high for FA. .75% Cowboy was enough to ruin a mix for me (I really don't care for most FA tobaccos, but it seems pretty strong.)

I've mixed this up for a couple people. I'd say this is a better way to use FA. Start with 2% Virginia, 1% Cowboy, and maybe .5% MTS if you have to. Can't really make a suggestion on the EM. I don't use EM and very rarely use MTS. I guess try a small batch with the EM at 1% and adjust from there.

Looks way too high to me, too. I'd cut those in half and steep it for month. But you might want to wait for a response from one of our resident tobacco specialists.

Technically impossible since all flavors are perceived by the nose and you don't normally vape through the nose. What you may experience as inhale are the flavors that dominate the smell of the juice and the lightest and strongest volatiles. Basically the sharpest and most dominant flavor would be the inhale and all flavors mixed together on the exhale. There's also taste, the impression on your tongue, that may be perceived as part of the inhale. And the lingering flavor in your mouth and throat after exhale.

You can't really engineer it other than having some of the flavors be more prominent in the mix.

I personally don't care about DA/AP in my mixes which is one of the reasons for caution. I do avoid almost all FW because of their shady business practices and sugar syrup laden flavors. I buy as little from them as I can.

Do you actually care about vaping Diacetyl? Have you checked out the first order flavors in the side bar? That has some simple good ones.

i recommend you to visit ATF, find some most mixed/top rated recipes paying attention on what you may like and get flavours you need to mix these recipes. ATF also provide ability to search by flavour stash and your flavours +1(or 2) missing flavours.

ELR is almost the same (except ability to search for recipes with 1(2) missing flavours). some recipes are good there, but this website has lot of duplicates and lot of shitty high rated recipes. so be careful. ATF is more safe for beginners.

I'm a tobacco guy, and I'm also pretty impatient. I also don't really have a set routine, but it typically goes something like this:

Have an idea of what I'm going for and create the recipe on ELR.

Sit down to mix it, and make possible changes depending on how everything smells together.

Shake the hell out of it and taste it.

Usually that first taste will give me an idea on if it will be good or not. If it's not good, it goes in to hibernation to be tried after a couple weeks to see if it gets any better.

If first taste shows promise, I taste it every couple of days to see the direction it is going, and think about any possible changes for v2.

After a week or so, I'll mix a 30 ml of the v2 with any possible tweaks. This is where sometimes I jump the gun. V2 gets 30 ml without really being tested. I'll let that sit for about 10 days and then give it a taste. If it's good, I test its all day potential.

V1 rejects at the shake and vape stage will either be scrapped completely or a new 10 ml tester will be made.

So basically, a good shake and vape gets better, and a bad one could get good or stay bad, but either way I wouldn't put it out there as a shake and vape. If it ever sees the light of day, it will come with a minimum steep time.

I'm really glad your juice tasted good to you fresh, but let me know if it also holds up to at least a short steep and how it changes over time and then maybe I'll try it too.

I've watched a few of those but usually don't make it to the end before life/work interferes. I think/hope there are mentions of predictions regarding what will happen as things steep and how long it should probably steep to get there it's going. If not, there should be. With experience with flavors, making these predictions gets easier.

But if I'm mixing something and I already know one or more of the ingredients or combination of ingredients is a steeper, I don't even bother tasting it right away. I know it's not going to taste very good if I do, so why would I do that to myself?

yes and no. depends how v1 comes out.

kinda.... after a while some will get to know their concentrates and can theory mix combos. fruit flavors normally make better shake n vapes. some flavors just need time to homogenize and others are great day 1. So imo the main diffrence between the seasoned experts and noobs = having the better flavors and knowing how to use them inside and out (flavor testing).

I'd just swap out the sweetener for Cap Super Sweet or Purilum Super Sweet.

TPA Ripe Banana is "best" used at a low percentage. I say "best" because I can't stand that flavor. Just tastes like runts to me. Try it at 1-2% with 0.5% of sweet cream. What are the brands you have?

It's not really an exact science. There is no specific answer to your question other than it's just "taste fatigue"

Anything excessive, doesn't matter if it's a single flavor or a mix. It's your body deciding it's had enough of it.

First, make sure that something you make and shake n vape without VBIC in it is not peppery, because that could also be your nicotine.

But, yes, it sounds like you are likely to get the same effect no matter the recipe. It sounds like you are a pepper taster, I'm sorry to say.

Before you toss it in the trash though, give it a try after a steep (some say it steeps out for them, some say it never does) and try vaping on it for bit when you, because some say they only get the pepper at first, and then it passes.

This thread is still on the front page about single flavor mixes you could check out. TFA Strawberry Ripe isn't that great as a single flavor.

There's a bunch that are good solo there should be a thread about it on the 1st or 2nd page, go check that out. There's also 1 shot concentrates(a whole recipe in 1 bottle) you can look into, but no strawberry ripe isn't very good solo.

I highly suggest you buy VG,PG and nic base separate it will be cheaper in the long term, and try lowering your PG%. The flavourings are PG based also so it makes the PG ratio even higher than 40% . I can't stand higher pg ratios it irritates my throat and is very unsatisfying. I think you might have the same problem as me but I could be wrong. Also don't do the leaving the lid off thing I don't know if this a practice to reduce harshness but it will make the flavoring less potent. If your dead set on a solo strawberry you should combine 2-3 different strawberries(TFA strawberry ripe,TFA strawberry, FA red touch, INW shisha strawberry, CAP sweet strawberry etc) to get a good flavor. You'll have more success just trying a well rated strawberry cream type of recipe or mustard milk is super simple though .

Find a few well rated recipes on alltheflavors.com or on this sub and buy the flavours needed for them. If you really want to get into the hobby it's so worth it to order a bunch of flavours from a US vendor(check verified vendors on the sidebar) shipping is a lot $17-28 USD depending on size of order but with the price difference from Canadian vendors you'll still save a lot and it's so worth it ( example 10ml TFA flavor is $1.29 USD from US vendor vs $4 CAD from Canadian vendor)

DIY Flavours is in Abbotsford BC and I think the broke vaper is in ontario so depending on where you are in the country you'll get faster shipping times. I would suggest finding some recipes on alltheflavors.com that look good to you and start by getting the flavors to make those, that way you don't waste your money on flavors that sound good but you may never use.

I think the Super Concentrates Cigar might get you there. Throw in some INW Tobacco Cavendish for the honey note, and maybe FLV Red Burley for the earthy notes. Maybe like:

I could mix this and test it, but I'm afraid I can't say if it's close to an acid blondie since I've never had one. But I could tell you if it's gross.

Alright, mixed and shake and vape tested. It's hitting all those notes quite nicely. But as I said, I've never had an acid blondie so I can't say if it tastes like that. I'm eager to see how it tastes in a couple weeks though.

I don't see anything on the MSDS. Most flavorings are made without the actual real items they are made to replicate.

Before anyone asks, FLV Peanut Butter contains the same chemicals that trigger allergies for people who are allergic to peanuts so this is understandable caution.

Could be the temperature. Could be the coil (material, lower resistance, dual-coil vs single coil, etc).

If you have a TC mod I'd consider turning it up. Flavors change a lot at higher temps.

check out the flavor reviews for your flavor. they tend to give suggested mixing ranges. then head over to all the flavors and look at the various strap-ons to get an idea of how others are using them.

General rule is

0-3 days for fruits, depends on it's alcohol content for me. Will be less harsh after it sits for a few days.

5-7 days for creams and non custards in general

30-180 days for custards and tobaccos. RY4 really thrives from a long steep.

Have you tried FA Honey? It seems to be everyone's favorite honey flavor.

FLV Sweetness, Monk Fruit extract (Nude Nicotine is the only place I've seen who makes this) and erythritol all seem to not gunk or gunk very fast. I can attest for FLV Sweetness not muting or gunking. It does take a few days for it to really start to sweeten. Keep in mind none of these will sweeten to the extent that sucralose does.
