Say money was no limit (like you just won the Powerball for $435 million), how would you set yourself up for mixing juice? Give me all the details. Tools, lab equipment, work surfaces, electronics, vapes, whatever... you name it.
I feel like I'd be pretty simple. I'd like a new drill for wrapping coils and a Windows Surface Pro that I could throw on a wall mount/swivel to push it out of my way. I need some organization in my life too, but I'm not dreaming big enough here so I'm curious to see what everyone else thinks.
Edit: I'd probably be inclined to buy a fancy label printer and a thousandths scale just because I can...
I would buy an old RV and set up a sweet mobile lab.
I would make every step automated by an automatic pippetting system and biochemical analyzer. Analyzer can help me to figure out how much time my batches should be steeped. I'd get an engineer to run up the 3D printer which i could use to create unique glass bottles for each of my liquids. Also i'd hire an engineer to create a software that combines the liquids chemical analyzes and the score i gave to them according to their taste to create new recipes for me. And of course, a fricking label printer.
I'll just buy /u/apexified's house for a million or two more than it's worth, and put in the contract that everything remotely vape-related stays right were it is.
Bwahahaha! Holy shit, you're not kidding. Man, and here was thinking I was hot shit with my 4 drawer tackle box for builds and two slimline tackles for my 100 flavors...Yeah, I knew I had but a fraction of the flavors out there but this dude's digs makes me vape bone jump.
I would have a dedicated room for my lab, of course. It doesn't have to be particularly large, but it must display all of the currently available concentrates (with room to grow) on wall racks. These racks would have individual pods for each flavor and will be hooked up vending-machine style to my mixing machine. An app will use the machine to mix my recipe per specification. There would be a conveyor belt that transfers the bottled liquid to a shaker on its way to the steep box.
Finished recipes will be delivered via drone to the neighboring residence of /u/ID10-T, who will be under contract to vape and leave detailed impressions of everything that arrives. I would let him use my lab occasionally, but would really just be buying up his time for recipe reviews and shenannigans.
I could do it for a few hundred pounds.
A wide desk which isn't too deep so I can reach the shelving and flavour racks behind it easily. Still deep enough that my monitor and keyboard don't get in the way. I like your swivel wall mount idea but I think it would interfere with the shelving.
One shelf would have atty slots and a drawer for coiling equipment.
I like an adjustable standing desk so I'd mount a backboard so the shelves and racks go up with the desk.
A mounted and moveable lamp.
I'd also have a permanent, easy wipe vinyl section embedded in the centre for easy wiping and stain prevention.
That vinyl section is a great idea actually! I might be stealing some of these for when I buy a house next year.
I'd probably experiment with different surfaces first to find the best one.
I currently have a glass desk and VG is an absolute nightmare to wipe off. It just smears around.
A nice desk, a nice scale, every concentrate known to man and a few that i'd have developed for me. some of the better flavors by the barrel.
a rack of RTA/RDAs and various vapes to hot swap for flavor testing...
more bottles than anyone should ever need in 5ml-120ml up to a gallon. nicotine by the gallon, a deep freezer for storage.
a paint mixer for shaking when i'm feeling lazy.
a full color label printer.
a dedicated clean room for mixing because why not. white walls and all.
And... Kilo's Cereal Milk recipe, I'd happily buy it under a binding contract that I couldn't share it. It's my favorite juice but there's one small aspect to it that i'd try to change.
I'd set up flavors to be automated, set at a percentage interval, like a soda machine at a burger king, you hit fruts, then what fruit and then percentage level. Automating it and then input for weight, vg/pg input, and then a dark room for steeping, set to go on a timer for an every two hours to lightly heat the room, and the shelves? They vibrate to mix the juices. Printing wouldn't be that hard for me. I'd assist in research for new flavors, but I'd set up a schedule to check for new flavors.
The key point of contention I'm dealing with is this lady that I made a promise to a while back and now we live together. She says I'm messy. Hah!
So what I'm dealing with is a man garage. Of course it's not climate controlled and I share the space with some kids toys, a water heater and some pallet wood that I've never gotten around to messing with. So what I'm thinking is set up a makeshift work bench which is mostly wood but I could just put that 80's coke tray down for actual mixing. However, given that lack of climate control, while there is a fridge, there's not much else out there that I could safely keep all of the perishables in.
I'll probably just setup hardware out there and keep the liquids inside. Eventually I do want to get something out there to make it more comfortable in less ideal weather but it would probably still be intermittent where I just turn it on when I'm out there. Unless those vented space coolers are built for constant running.
I think you missed the part about winning $435 million
Haha! Good point. Hmm. Well, in that case, erm, yeah, lemme say, how about I just pay off my house and buy the nearest affordable existing vape company with whatever is left. I could moonlight and dabble whenever I wanted and have the help keep me in whatever else i wanted. Haha! I know, I kmow, that's not the point of the exercise.
> like you just won the Powerball for $435 million), how would you set yourself up for mixing juice?
I wouldn't be mixing juice...
I would... well, maybe not the physical act of mixing, but I'd still be creating recipes. The actual dripping and shaking would probably be done by the servant girls.
*scantily clad, well-endowed, servant girls.
Oh yeah. I'm selling juice, too. $435 million can probably bribe a lot of FDA agents.
Topless Juice Co.
The recipe names are just girls' names. On the bottle, there's picture of her, obviously topless but maybe doing like a handbra or the picture cuts off just above the nips, so it's not totally tasteless.
Each order comes with a code. Enter that code on our website and you get one-time access to a video of her shaking up your actual bottle of juice, serial number shown as proof, topless.
I would get nail polish shelves for the flavorings, and I would buy the full line of products from each of the major flavor manufacturers. I really can't complain wth my current set up, it is just hard to rummage through and find the flavor I'm looking for due to the "filing" system I'm using at this time. And not having the flavors visible puts a damper on some of the creative inspiration I could have by seeing & grabbing flavors to try together.
If money was no object I'd just start buying premium juice... 🙃
Surface Pro is overkill. Throw a Kindle Fire HD or cheap android tablet up there and call it a day.
