I would not say that they are not relevant. I would say you might want to try them using the same ingredients in the same ratios but cut the overall flavor % by a quarter or in some cases even a half.

There's also the waiting, which is the hardest part.

It's that simple. Get a scale, put your bottle on the scale then put in flavors , PG VG and then your cap on the bottle. Shake vigorously and let them steep a couple days at least.

Those DX flavors are tricky to use. Are you trying to avoid diacetyl? Try looking for a few recipes that sound good and order the flavors for those!

The consensus seems to be that Flavourart and Hangsen make the most realistic.

FA Banana, HS Banana, WF Banana Purée are all pretty realistic, as best I can tell. I've only tried the last two in other's mixes though. I've worked with FA Banana quite a bit though and while it has some realistic Banana flavor, it's flat and thin and doesn't have any volume or mouthfeel to it. Best used in conjunction with low %s of your much less realistic TFA or LA Banana Cream to get a more real Banana out of them.

For real fresh banana I like Medicine Flower/Lotus-flavors. I also have Purilum Banana on the way which I've heard is very similar.

The MF green tea is pretty good. It's just enough earthy and grassy as a stand alone. It's got me stumped in a mix with florals though. I'll work it out eventually. I like it right around. .75-1% standalone. I've tried it up to 1.5% in a mix. I tried to go higher because it was getting lost and it got really funky at 2% for me. .

When I started mixing(A WHOPPING five months ago, so I'm an expert now! Right? /s) In my haste to begin mixing bottle after bottle of premium-tasting juice at bathtub gin prices, I forgot to purchase labels. I knew that if I didn't write anything on the bottle I'd be up the same creek in which you currently reside, so I grabbed some masking tape and a sharpie out of the junk bin I call my garage with the idea that I'd go out the next day and buy some proper labels that I could feed thru a printer. Guess what? I' still using the masking tape and Sharpie method. It looks hinky as hell, but it works!

You may be having a hard time recognizing it because squeezing all that air out during steeping let a large amount of the more volatile flavors escape. Best to keep the caps on next time.

Yea, I premix to 30/70 PG/VG, so the finished mixes end up around 40/60. Most vendors carry premixes too.

I agree with the other commenter, don't squeeze the air out. I also wouldn't use the bathroom for liquid storage. But I have indeed had to learn the labeling lesson the hard way too :) And if you ever alter a recipe or just throw something together, be sure to take notes. Otherwise you'll sit there later with your awesome creation and no clue how to make more of it.

I got a dymo label maker and always label the date I mixed, the name of the recipe, the nic %, and whether I changed the flavor potency (which I do often, so many recipes have way too much flavor).

I don't even fold my laundry. It just sits in laundry baskets on my dining room table. This is literally the most organized I've ever been about anything.

Assuming they're translucent and tiny, then yeah it's normal. I've never had anything weird happen when using the actual concentrate.

Sometimes it can add the illusion of fizziness, but no, there's no way to ever actually achieve that aspect.

Just out of curiosity...why are you moving backwards to one shots?

If you want you can create your own "One shot bases" to mix with the flavors you already have. The whole one shot flavors aren't very popular in this sub. I personally would rather own all the flavors the have the most control over what I'm vaping.

To answer your question the DIYORDIE one shots are popular and the one shots at chef's flavors are, too, popular if you're in the UK.

Try lepetitvapoteur.com or chefs flavours in the UK for good one shots. In France,FUU is good quality but expensive, supervape have some nice flavours, and virus vape have a quality selection.

Chefs flavours are my favourite for one shots as they have a lot of popular public recipes, with some proceeds going to the creators, so you know what your tasting - for example I'm vaping Divine rice pudding and jam right now, which contains FA raspberry and FA Cinnamon Ceylon, as per the dazcole recipe, both of which I now know I enjoy and to purchase in future for my own mixes. They also have DIYorDIE, EjuiceMixers and VHM.

Your percentage for the Spearmint is way too high. Try knocking it down to 3-4%. That's also not menthol, it's just Spearmint. You may be diluting your crystals incorrectly, which could result in a stronger concentration. So try mixing that at 1%.

TFA Spearmint is quite strong. I mix it at 4% and it's great, 10% is too much.
Also, how are you diluting your crystals? Personally, I do 20% crystals and 80% PG, shake and wait overnight and it's good to go. I don't do the whole "put crystals until they don't dilute" because the solution would be too strong. I put anywhere from 2% to 5% (when on its own) and it works great.

They are sold by Chef's under a different name, Xpress Flavors or something like that. No Sweet Rice, yet, but if you talk to them, it might increase the chance of them adding it to their line-up. They did have the Green Tea, last time I checked.

100 mg is not pure nic. No one mixes with pure nicotine. But ideally all nic should be kept in the freezer

VG has a freezing point of -64F and PG has a freezing point of -74F. Your freezer has a temp of around 0 degrees.

I store my nicotine in the freezer and pull it out and use it right away. If it's too thick leave it to warm up to your liking.

It's in my experience that menthol just degrades over time. It's strongest when it is first mixed

Menthol doesn't really need to steep, so my tip would be to have the recipes steeping without the menthol, then add it when it's nearly done.

Put it in the freezer

Try dropping the cheesecake graham and cream cheese icing and work slowly up with them from there. TFA Banana Cream is pretty creamy in itself, but I think your other 2 flavors are muting the bananas. I'd even try the same percent bananas with 2-3% TFA or FW Bavarian Cream if you have it and see what you think.

i'd get tfa banana nut bread if i were you. it's the best realistic banana flavor there is and paired with banana cream at about equal percentages it's bomb af.

Search this sub for cheesecake recipes then do a control+f search for cherry on this link. After you've read all the cherry flavoring reviews, choose one that you think would work best in a cheesecake and combine it with the cheesecake recipe you find.

I would say properly stored it's a year minimum, also depends on the flavor itself. In any case it's not like the flavor is going to be completely unusable - it might lose some of its bite and be weaker, but I still have flavors that I got 2 years ago that I find have held out quite well.

It depends on the dropper and the amount used as the base "per" value. Using TFA as an example, 1 drop per 15 ml is like 0.2%. But that is based on 1 drop per 15 ml.

The size of a drop can vary greatly, but from smaller concentrate bottles the general range is 0.02 to 0.03 ml. As you can tell, this is completely unreliable for anything beyond a few drops from bottles you're familiar with.

You need to look up some highly regarded recipes in this sub or on All The Flavors and make your first order based on that. There is also a First Order Flavors list in the sidebar.

Chef's Flavours have quite a selection of one shot flavours, I haven't really tried them but perhaps look through and get some of them that sound appealing to you. It'll probably make the transition to mixing a lot easier.

Another personal recommendation from me would be to look up recipes as EdibleMalfunction said - however, in my experience the simpler a recipe is, the more ADV worthy it is.

One shots aren't the most widely used around here

LDPE and PET bottles, which is most likely what you're using, will be fine. Most warnings about cracking tanks were when they were using acrylic, which most manufacturers have moved away from in favor of glass.

You could honestly leave the EM out. I don't think it has any place in this recipe. But if you want to use it, keep it at 1%. You don't need to adapt anything Recipe-wise for changing nicotine amounts. Just change the value in your calculator and it will give you the correct amounts of PG/VG to add. That RY4 Double is a little high. I would knock it down to 8. Take the AP down to 0.75 as well. Keep in mind that this mix will need a good 3-4 weeks of steeping time

I just rinse out my bottles with tap water. I have never gone to the lengths you have to clean them. I've also never cleaned brand new bottles before. I have 50 something 30ml gorilla bottles I use all the time. I just use them, rinse with tap water and repeat.

I agree you don't have to go hardcore if you're just mixing for yourself. About every six months I boil and deep clean about 250 glass bottles of various sizes. After that they usually just get a thorough rinse between uses. The rest of the bottles I use are plastic and get replaced after the first use because I'm lazy.

More than any other DIY tool, I wish I had an unlimited supply of bottles. They are always the thing keeping me from mixing. I have 0 clean bottles right now, and I have to dump scrapped batches every time I want to mix. It's better, for me, if I can just snag a bottle and mix when an idea hits me. I'll have 50 10mls on Monday, but they'll be used by the end of the week. 💀🔫

You would probably lose some flavor by cutting it with extra VG (or even PG, really).

Menthol loses it's kick with time, if you can wait maybe a week or so it'll most likely smooth out.

Cap doesn't make Butterscotch Ripple, FW does. What percentage did you use it at?

Did you happen to leave the bottle open for any of the month it was steeping?

How did you store this mix? Sounds like the VG absorbed water from the air if it's that thin.

Yes. These are what are referred to as Flavor Bases. ELR and ATF both have an option to make a recipe into a flavor base. It will list at what percentage you need to mix the base. The juice will still need to steep after mixing it up.

Adding VG to finished mixes/vendor juices will dilute the flavor. There's really no getting around that. If you want to do this you need to be using the same juice, same amount, in different concentrations. For example: say you have 30 ml of 6 mg juice. If you add 30 ml of 0 mg of the same juice, your resulting bottle would be 60 ml of 3 mg juice without sacrificing flavor. Adding VG just dilutes everything.

I'm sure there's a good calculator out there that can do this, but the math isn't that hard.

So you want to turn one of those 30 ml bottles of 3 mg/ml nic and 70/30 PG/VG into 3 mg/ml 50/50 PG/VG? Then start by considering the 70% PG to be 50% of the final mix.

70% of 30 ml = 21 ml

And if that is 50%, then the total mix is 42 ml. You already have 9 ml of VG in there, so you'll need another 12 ml to make 21 ml of VG for the 50/50 mix. With me so far?

So let's figure out the nic. You have a total of 30 ml * 3 mg/ml = 90 mg of nic in your mix. For 42 ml * 3 mg/ml = 126 mg total, so you're missing 36 mg in the final mix. Since you conveniently have 36 mg/ml VG based nic, you just need 1 ml of that to hit the mark.

Then you just add 11 ml of plain VG to complete the 50/50 mix.

I shouldn't do this at 5 am in the morning, but that's how you'd do it manually.

TFA Cotton Candy is just EM. And 10% is too much for whatever you use it in.

You really can't judge a flavor based on just tasting a drop of it. You should make single flavor juice samples at varying percentages (say 2%, 6% and 10%) to see how the flavor changes as you increase it. You can also research on recipe sites and here to see what percentages are common for each concentrate.

Cotton candy (EM) should be used between 0.25% and 2% in most cases

Amber glass is preferred.
