A Better Mango Boba; a strong example of FE Sweet Rice's superiority.

This recipe comes about from playing with possibly the best new flavor out, FE Sweet Rice. I went in looking to make a mango/rice milk flavor, but the results were so much better than expected.

FE Mango is a phenomenal mango flavor. It's almost spot on to the powdered mango nectar juices that you can get in Latin food marts. It's not a fresh mango, it's not a ripe mango. It's a slimy, almost synthetic in its sweetness, thick mango that works so well with the starchy flavor of Sweet Rice.

FE Green Tea is extremely potent. Keeping it under .5% lends a light earthiness to the mix, emulating the light tea flavor in actual boba milk teas.

FA Cream Fresh and TFA Vanilla Swirl sets the basis of the sweet milk used in bobas. The cream fresh is light enough to not want it's own spotlight, unlike other creams. The vanilla swirl lends sweetness and some light vanilla to the milk base at 1.5%.

FE Sweet Rice the star of this recipe. While it may taste as though the mango is the star of the recipe, the authenticity of this boba recipe is not attainable without sweet rice. Starchy, thick, and sweet, FE Sweet Rice fits in perfectly just under the mango on your palate, and slightly above the milk base. If you haven't already, get your hands on this flavor ASAP, because it's everything you've ever wanted in a rice flavor.

2% FE Mango
1.5% FA Cream Fresh
1.5% TFA Vanilla Swirl
.3% FE Green Tea

Looks good, Wayne has been saying how good that rice is so I have been trying to source some. Just a heads up for the people in the UK and those that order from ChefsFlavours. I emailed them about the Sweet Rice and was informed that they do plan on stocking it soon. They already have the green tea and the mango so this would be a great recipe to try out the rice once they get it. P.S. FE is branded as Xpress Flavour from Chefs.

Looks good. I'd mix it up if I had the FE mango.

I actually just got the sweet rice in today and was messing with it.

I'm working on a mango sticky rice thing involving FLV mango and FLV sweet coconut, I'm excited becuz this rice flavor is the tits. I just wish it were a little cheaper or more concentrated because right now they only offer 10ml on ecx

They sold out of 30s, I got a 30mL bottle because Wayne was telling us how great it was before we did the InTheMix episode that he tells the listeners about it.

Awesome recipe artwork! It was this recipe, not anything Wayne said, that convinced me I need to order that FE Sweet Rice. Unfortunately, it's sold out.

FE Mango has a problem with fast-fading flavor but it tends to hang around longer mixed with creamy things. AB had a theory about its lighter molecules bonding to heavier ones and staying put instead of floating away, or something like that. Just wanted to warn anyone who buys it for this that it probably isn't the best mango for fruit mixes unless you plan to vape it quickly and assure anyone who already has experience with it and is skeptical of this that it probably works very well here.

I was wondering how this recipe would hold to a steep because Wayne mentions in the review on ecx that the sweet rice loses some top notes after a week, if the mango and rice fade then I wouldn't let this sit around for long

Wow, I didn't check that review... maybe it would not be a good idea to make a big batch of this or to leave it too long in the steeping pantry. Or maybe the cream fresh and vanilla swirl hold them both together? /u/skiddlzninja how is this holding up over time?

The rice loses top notes, but the starchiness is what it's contributing to this recipe after a steep. It's like the starchy balls in boba tea. It's the reason this is a mango boba instead of a mango sweet rice ;)

OP do you know of any ways of incorporating the FE mango in order to make it play along with FLV mango well in a recipe? Would highly appreciate if you had any other recipes that have this ingredient in general. Thanks!!

I just bought FE mango, and this is my first time using it, but it would go well at a lower percentage with a main note of FLV mango. I'd say 1:4 ratio for FE to FLV if you're looking for a good mango.

I definitely think it would be overkill, but be sure to check /u/id10-t's comment above as to why you may not want to use FE for a fruit mix.

FLV Mango doesn't need much help but try 1% CAP sweet mango with it or 1% TPA jackfruit. I think using both would be overkill.

Alright I just made a 50ml batch. I didn't have TFA Vanilla swirl so fuck me but it smells very strong of mango. Was it the same for you? I put in French vanilla cap to replace the vanilla swirl. Was it the same for you? The mango was potent and I'm thinking of diluting it. It's only been one day so I'll let it steep for a week then decide.
