Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of May 19, 2017
submitted over 8 years ago by AutoModerator

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! If you are impatient and want to do this on your own, here are a couple of good links:

  • /u/daath has a nice website that has this functionality, but you will need to register to make it work. It is not very intuitive but if you work with it you can input your flavors and get a list of recipes that you can make. IMO this is the better site if you have the patience to make it work for you. Edit2: to get this to work, first set up an account. Then add your flavors to the stash (under my page / my flavor stash). hit save. Then go back to the front page and click the link next to the search field, "Search by flavor stash". You can select a couple of your flavors and recipes that have those will pop up.
  • This site has a nice big search button with just what you're looking for.

Happy Mixing!

I have a bunch of the following flavors that I want to make something refreshing with. Cool and sweet for the summer.. just can't quite get the right ratios. Any recipes?

  • TFA Watermelon
  • CAP Cantaloupe
  • CAP Cucumber
  • CAP Cool mint
  • INW Cactus
  • Koolada

6% CAP cucumber

0.5% INW Cactus

0.25-0.5% koolada (assuming 10% solution)

No experience with cap cool mint but you can probably work that in there too

I was just working on something similar today, with the addition of 5% LA Watermelon and 1% INW Natural Mint.

Got a number of new FA concentrates, would love to make some fruity mixes for the spring. (Yes, I've already mixed up some Strap On and D cream). If necessary I can add some other stuff but I'd really like to experiment with these primarily:

Mango

Strawberry

Watermelon

Fuji

White peach

Apricot

Forest mix

Pear

Cookie

Cream fresh

Marshmallow

Vienna cream

Are you just looking for some simple fruit mixes of those fruit flavors? All of them will go well together in two- to three-ingredient recipes as long as your percents aren't out of whack.

Yah that's my thought.... any of these need much more or less than 2% in a mix? Any real banger combos? I was thinking white peach and mango could be good...

Mango + White Peach or Mango + Apricot, or all three. Or just White Peach + Apricot. Probably your best combos right there. The stone fruit bunch.

2% is a good place to make Mango, White Peach, Fuji, or Forest Fruit the main flavor in a mix. You might want to go to 3 to 4% to make Strawberry, Apricot, Pear, or Watermelon the main flavor in a mix; they are weaker. Of course you'll want to go lower if you're using any of these as a secondary flavor, accent, or additive.

1% FA spearmint

0.25-0.5% koolada

Is a refreshing cool spearmint vape. Perfect for summer!

Edit: never used FA peppermint, but it might work in there too if you want to try building on that recipe after you try it.

Heya! I'm new to DIY and received my first order and eager to try anything soon. Most are tobaccos which seem to require 1-2 week steeps. I've looked for good "shake n vape" recipes but can't find many with what I have. Misplaced my coils so using a tank and can't quickly swap out different flavors so I'd really appreciate it if anyone can think of any recipes I can try immediately / within a couple days with the following flavors (bolded a few that seem popular on e-liquid-recipes.com):

TFA/TPA: Brown Sugar, Cheesecake Graham Crust, Cotton Candy, Dragon Fruit, Graham Cracker Clear, Orange Cream, Peanut Butter, RY4 Double, Strawberry Ripe, Sweet Cream, Vanilla Custard, Citrus Punch, Acetyl Pyrazine 5%

FA: Blackcurrant, Cappuccino, Caramel, Fresh Cream, Fuji Apple, Joy, Meringue, Vienna Cream, Zeppola

INW: Cactus

FW: Bavarian Cream, Yellow Cake

Capella: Cinnamon Danish Swirl V2, NY Cheesecake V2, Peanut Butter V2, Sugar Cookies V1

Most FA Tobacco flavors (assuming need longer steeps): 7 Leaves, Black Fire, Burley, Cowboy Blend, Cuban Supreme, Dark Vapure, Desert Ship, Glory, Latakia, Perique Black, Royal, RY4, Shade, Soho, Tuscan Reserve, Virginia

Thanks!

*P.S. The first base I mixed is 75vg/25pg @8mg nic, so will be about 65vg/35pg after flavors added, in case that matters at all.

I think I'll try this first, which I found on this sub My Geography - French Quarter clone by InsigmiaTheory: French Quarter clone-

  • CAP - Sugar Cookie - 5%
  • FA - Joy - 2%
  • FA - Meringue - 2%
  • INW - Biscuit - .75%

And just omitting INW Biscuit, maybe subbing with FA Zeppola for the fried / buttery effect.

I also liked FA Glory as a standalone, though apparently it gets better with steeping.

I thought about suggesting that one to you with a Zeppola sub for biscuit but I just wasn't sure how well Zep would work in it or how much to use. I think you should go higher than 0.75 but I'm not sure how much higher. You might even try something like that with the Sugar Cookie and Meringue the same, Zep at 2% and Joy at 0.75%.

Thanks again, I'll give it a shot. Though I just placed an order for another 40 or so flavors including INW Biscuit because I got tired of scrounging for recipes I could make, hah. I've been vaping the Fuji / Strawberry / Dragon Fruit mix w/ Fresh cream and really like it. Between that and standalone tobaccos I've tried pre-steep I already know using these flavors I can make most any type of juice at least as good as 'premium' pre-made ones I'd buy @ $8-$20 for 30ml -- let alone being able to alter it to my exact tastes. Wish I got into DIY earlier, especially with so much wasted on juices I didn't like at all over the years.

Also would love any recommendations for additional flavors to get. I've already got a long list based on commonly used flavors I've seen in recipes, but any advice from experienced DIYers would be really helpful! As a recent ex-smoker I've mostly tried tobacco flavors, but I've recently been enjoying fruity/creamy flavors so eager to explore more.

Shake and Vape would be hard with many of the ingredients you have, most of them work better with a steep. Your best bet here for something to vape without having to wait (while your other things are steeping) is probably FA Fuji Apple, all by itself at 3%. You might also enjoy Strawberry Ripe 6% standalone, 5% TFA Dragonfruit standalone, or a combination like 5% Strawberry Ripe, 1% FA Fuji, 1% Dragonfruit for something that's mostly strawberry or 2% FA Fuji, 3% Strawberry Ripe, 1% Dragonfruit for a more apple-centric vape. If straight up fruits just aren't doing it for you, you can try adding 1.5% FA Fresh Cream or FW Bavarian Cream to those without needing a steep. Adding 0.25% Cactus to any of the above (minus the cream) would also give it some body and wet juicy mouthfeel, but make a small batch first because you might find that you don't like cactus at all.

Recommendations for flavors to get: TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, TFA Strawberry (not Ripe), TFA Kentucky Bourbon, TFA Toasted Marshmallow, TFA Vanilla Swirl, TFA Bavarian Cream, and FA Kiwi.

Awesome! Thanks a ton! Recently found this sub and already can tell you're a great resource; love the monthly clone challenge. Yeah, I ordered the non-tobacco flavors based on popularity not realizing they may not be the best together.

I'm mixing each of your suggestions for standalone and the mix right now -- and will try them again in a couple days with my RDA.

I've added your recommendations to my next order list (now over 60 flavors, haha). That already includes the other flavors for Grack Juice based on your enthusiastic recommendation in the '16 best of. Also had Vanilla Swirl/Bavarian Cream to make your MoD Milk, which if remotely as good as your description I'm sure I'll be in heaven!

Thanks again for all your hard work and dedication!

So I am not posting my flavors, this time around I am looking for a flavor profile I know I can't make but I need suggestions to go shopping. A friend I mix for asked me if I can make something that has rum/tobacco/nuts. I have never done anything close to that, just some straight up RY4 Double. Any recipe or flavor suggestions would be awesome for that profile.

TFA sweet raspberry

FA Fuji

La watermelon

TFA dragonfruit

INW cactus

Koolada

A little bit left of FA Kiwi

TFA pineapple

La lemonade

TFA orange cream

FA lemon Sicily

Cap sweet strawberry

Cap golden pineapple

FA forest fruit ( tastes weird to me- really artificial nothing like any type of berry)

TFA juicy peach

FA white peach

RF SC Strawberry

RF SC Blue raspberry (tastes more like blueberry to me and not a great one)

RF SC pear (pure alcohol? Idk)

RF SC Apple

I really want a refreshing vape for the summer I am currently all out of juice that interest me so I am also hoping for shake n vape recipe. I have all the creams on the my first order list too but I'd prefer something fruity unless it's just an enhancer or something. Thanks in advanced.
