Got my shipment of flavors from a recipe that im sure many of you have used. "Mothers Unicorn Milk" from eliquidrecipes.com. My god what a difference using a recipe is! I tried (and failed) at a personal recipe with no prior experience with mixing. It's vapeable, but not good.
Shake and vape i can already taste the quality of this mix. I can't wait till it steeps! Thanks for all the tips in this community!
Yeah don't give up on personal recipes. I've made numerous horrible juices.
Try your flavors. Mix up small 5ml batches of single flavors.
Inspire yourself from recipes, play with percentages, swap some flavors around.
In a few months, you'll get the hang of it and start being able to really make your own recipes. I'm close to finishing up my second one :)
That was how I learned. Just mixing lots of good recipes. After a while you get a good grip on all the flavoring compounds you use and how they mesh together and different percentages. Before you know it you'll be able to slap some stuff together and it will just work.
For some unexplained reason, a brand new mixer will think 'I like these 4 flavors, I'll just mix them together and have something great!'. I did, and others will. That's when you learn you really don't know anything about mixing.
I doubt there was ever a baker that thought similarly. I know these 6 ingredients are in cake, I'll just toss some of each of them together and bake up a masterpiece!
Well, im a great home chef so I figured it would be easy. But not knowing what VG by itself tastes like and not ACTUALLY knowing what X brands vanilla cream ACTUALLY tastes like, it's really impossible to just wing it as far as flavors go with ejuice.
I KNOW what a yellow bell pepper tastes like and i KNOW what a sweet onion tastes like. But i forgot that i had no idea what these ejuice flavors really tastes like. Can't figure out the flavor by name alone.
It was a tip from this subreddit that i did not follow and i hope my mistake will at least help one other new mixer.
Happy mixing!
Thanks for all the positive words! My issue is, specifically with trying new recipes, is im heading out on the road for a year in my RV. I made a post about it a few weeks back.
Im just trying to find 3 flavors i love, batch a shit ton of em, and roll with those. First, i love this mothers unicorn milk. Now i need to find a caramel coffee juice and one other creamy flavor to batch.
Your juice will get better with time, also try simple 1-2 ingredient recipes to see what you like and dont like from each flavor. I have a nice coffee recipe that I cant guarantee that you will like but check it out when you have some free time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGkAg6bi4UE
