Longevity of freezing nicotine solution...
submitted over 8 years ago by lawatusi

I began mixing my own liquids in 2013 and at that time I read you could freeze nicotine solution, propylene glycol, and vegetable glycerin safely for up to 5 years. I took a break from mixing for a while because I became busy and put my spare supplies in the freezer in February 2014. This weekend I pulled out 250ml bottles from Wizard Labs and did a little mixing. I honestly could not tell a difference - everything tastes a fresh as the day it went into the freezer!

I just bought a litre of nicotine- it will take me a while to get through. How long does it last outside of the freezer? So I need to freeze half?

Kept in a cool dark place it'll keep for a couple months. You're better of pulling enough for a month and transferring it to a working bottle. Store the rest in the freezer to prevent oxidation. Oxygen and light are two of the biggest causes of nicotine breakdown.

What I do is I fill a 16oz condiment bottle with the amount of nic I want then add pg/vg to the bottle and use that to fill 30ml bottles that have some flavoring. My big bottle of nic stays in the freezer except for when I need more base

I've taken advice seen here and only keep a 30ml glass container (about what I'd use in a month or so) easily accessible, and then put the rest in my freezer, double bagged and topped off with argon. Seems to work well.

Pg and vg wont freeze in a conventional freezer. But being kept in one will make it last years.

I buy nic by the liter and seperate it into 60ml bottles. I keep one for mixing and the rest stay in the freezer until I neednto grab another bottle.

Good news :) My 7 liters will be happy knowing another person has kept theirs frozen for years! :)

Were the bottles sealed or had you opened them prior to freezing?

My open bottle is just fine after 2.5 years, no argon or anything

I'm just finishing up 1/2 a gallon I believe of Nude Nicotine. I purchased it at least 2 years ago and it's as good as it was from day 1.
