submitted over 8 years ago by T_Maceresident tobacco specialist

Specs:

  • percentage used: 1%
  • 2 months
  • PG/VG ratio: 50/50
  • vaped on NarDA rda, SS316L, 26 gauge, 2.5 ID, contact coil, 0.82 ohm, 12-20 watts

Type of Tobacco:

  • non-aromatic

Flavor Properties:

  • dark
  • bold
  • not sweet

Relatable Flavors:

  • dark, vegetal leafy flavor (more like green tea or not quite dried out forest leaves)
  • similar to TFA Cubano (charred green peppers)
  • a glimpse of a black licorice taste which culminates as just a touch of spice (I'm not a black licorice fan but this is actually workable)
  • it's not smokey like real Latakia

Mouth Feel:

  • medium density

Off Flavors:

  • none

Position In A Recipe:

  • accent

Suggested Percentage:

  • 1-2% (1% is plenty for me and I like it strong)

Pairings:

  • Virginia
  • Turkish
  • INW DNB

Conclusion:

  • I might be starting to like this oddly enough. Not sure how to use it yet and I damn sure won't be vaping it as a stand alone.
  • This is similar to TFA Cubano in profile, they both have that vegetal taste which to me is a dead ringer for charred green peppers. However, I much prefer this to the Cubano.
  • This will be another one that needs finesse to make it useful.

Oh yes, charred green peppers and grass, that's what I get from some tobaccos and I want to puke! Since you are the tobacco guy and your reviews are always on point, could you please write down all the tobacco flavors that come to mind with these notes? I really dig some tobacco flavors and I really hate the grassy ones so it would be helpful to have a "never order" list :)

  • TFA Cubano
  • FA Latakia
  • FA Dark Vapure
  • FA Perique Black

Those are the ones I can recall off the top of my head. I've been trying to figure out how to use that note for a while now but it always sticks out to me like a sore thumb. FA Latakia is the best version of charred green pepper that I've come across so far but it's still hard to mix with for my tastes.

Another grassy one I can think of is FA Virginia.
