A Journey Into Nic Salt Land
submitted over 8 years ago by EdibleMalfunctionThat Sugar Cookie Guy

So there hasn't been a lot of information (useful info, anyways) about using nicotine salts in the sub. A buddy of mine uses both an Ego AIO and some type of high nic device. He's been using a lot of Mr. Salt juice in his set-ups. I decided to order a sample of Nude Nicotine's Signature blend of nic salts to do some testing with. Surprisingly, they packaged and shipped it super fast. It only took about 3-4 days to be delivered, so kudos to them.

I used my Backwoods Lemonade recipe as the trial, which is

  • LA Lemonade 6.0%

  • FA Lemon Sicily 0.75%

  • FA Forest Mix (Forest Fruit) 3.0%

I was initially going to tweak the percentages a bit higher, considering the delivery devices being used, but decided to leave them be. This was mixed at 24 mg Nic, with a 60 VG / 40 PG ratio, since that is the ratio that Mr.Salt uses.

He just messaged me and was raving about it, calling it the best nic salt juice he's ever had. He said it has the perfect throat hit and the flavor is coming through without any sacrifice (which was the only thing I was worried about).

I'd imagine if you had a Juul or some type of other pod device you could up the nic salt used to around 50 mg or so. I'll be trying this myself tomorrow to get my own thoughts on it, but am making this post now since I know there are a few people looking for nic salt uses.

Sounds good, I have a low powdered device(suorin air) so when my NN order gets here I'm going to make a 50+mg Juice also. Thanks for the post, I'll be looking forward for how your higher nicotine juices work out.

Suorin Air- the damn draw is looser than Whoopi Goldberg at an air show. Let me know if you find that different, as I'm hoping mine is screwed up.

If you're a user of the Juul, you'll be disappointed, sorry to say.

I feel that the draw is actually fairly tight, and I loved my Juul. Try to cover the airflow with tape or something, it's the plastic piece inbetween the two contacts on the pod. That should make the draw much tighter.

I just put tape over the airflow and it hits much better now, I think this is exactly what you're looking for. Definitely try it.

I've actually done that, makes it worse. I've even covered 2 of the 3 holes inside the device (bigger pressure drop) and that didn't work either... Dann thing would be perfect otherwise.

Btw, I do have some JUUL clones that are mighty close if you're interested.

Interested in cool mint clone please!

So far-INW Natural Mint @ 4%
FW Spearmint -2.5%
Koolada -1-2%

It'll change soon possibly, as I am always deciding it sucks and starting over.

I've been using it for juul pods and icare juice.

Good recipe:

1% FLV Alpine Strawberry

0.25% INW Cactus

I have an iCare and was thinking of dusting it off and using that out to watch the game tonight. I don't even know if I still have a coil for it though.

It's a nice little device. For me I like 30mg/ml in it because I just want to hit it once when I use it. Great for stealthy vaping

This is exactly what I use mine for, disappears in my pocket and great for quick hits. I've been using 20mg salt with 70pg/30vg but I'll probably move to 24mg 90/10 with my next batch.

Shit I was just pondering this with a friend earlier today. Please update when you play with it more!

Man so happy to hear this. I was really interested in trying this, but not sure if it's sold in Canada. Now is it basically easier to get higher nic with less throat hit? Cause I want that sharp upper throat hit, without that lower burn (if that makes sense lol) I vape 12mg for MTL. I want a sharper throat it, but when I go higher, it just leaves this lasting burn in my whole throat.

I want every vape to feel like the first one when you wake up haha impossible...I know :(

Yes. That is exactly what nic salts are designed to do.

Have you tried all three types? Are the website's descriptions pretty accurate?

I have only used Signature

by WorstAdviceROCover 8 years ago

Yep. I use 60mg/ml (finished), and I only get the slight satisfying throat hit that a cigarette used to give.

What Nicotine did you use? If from Nude Nicotine, is it smooth, signature, or hit?

by WorstAdviceROCover 8 years ago

Smooth if using the JUUL, hit if I use less than 40mg, and sometimes I nic signature and smooth. All depends on what ratios I need.

What about at normal nicotine levels? How would using nic salts affect things?

Well I'd imagine you could, but salts are designed for the high nic DTL setups

They still work well. I have all my Mr Salt-E flavors available in 5mg for people that want to stick with a subohm device. At that level it is smooth hitting like a 3mg, but you get more nic, which is noticable.

For my high powered DTL setups I mix the Nude Signature with CXTC standard, to end up at 4mg/ml (roughly half & half), works fairly well - the salts have a different metabolization curve than regular nicotine, so you get a bit of a quick come up from them, with a lasting effect from the standard.

They work very, very well. Nic salts also tend to give a longer buzz, meaning I don't have to vape as often. If I'm at work, this is what I use no matter the device I've got for the day.

Should I use the pg or vg based nic?
