Solub Arome - Donut
submitted over 8 years ago by mlNikon

Setup: Narda Clone, Single coil 26g Kanthal @.7 ohms. 25W Power, Half wicked with Native Wicks

Testing: SA Donut @ 3%. 70/30 VG/PG, steeped 7 days.

Flavor Description: Slightly greasy fried dough with a light bready flavor, everything you would think you would want with a donut. It isn't quite as sweet as something like Zeppola but does have a bit of sweetness and has a bit of yeasty taste but not nearly as off putting as FA Joy.

Off-flavors: Right after a shake it was very yeasty and greasy tasting, almost had that play dough type taste to it but steeped out quite nicely.

Throat Hit: Very minimal

Uses & Pairings: This is a complete donut just waiting for your favorite fruit toppings or creams for a cream filled donut. I can see pairing this with zeppola for a bit more sweetness or maybe even flv maple bar for a maple donut.

Notes: This flavor changed quite a bit with a steep. When I tried it after a shake it was awful, very yeasty tasting similar to joy or cap glazed donut. After it steeped it turned into a well balanced complete donut flavor.

I made a purchase from chefs flavors few weeks ago, arrived in a week and shipping was $12 for a few dozen flavors. Worth it, imo.

Shipping was 12$? Did you ask for signature service? I only paid 6.50USD for like 50 flavors last time. Granted that was back in October.

Its a inexpensive French brand. They do a nice snake oil clone in my opinion.

Have you tried Umami by Revolute? If so how do they compare? I love Umami but it's a little more expensive than I'd like.

Used a few of theirs but I've been unimpressed in general. They're legitimate, however.
