Purilum Dragon Fruit
submitted over 8 years ago by mysticrosellDiketones, Schmiketones

Percentage Used: 4%

Equipment Used: Troll RDA with a single Kanthal .3 ohm Staircase coil at 27W. 24g kernel with 32g wrap, cotton wick.

PG/VG: 30/70

Steep Time: 4 Days and 4 Weeks

Aroma: Bubblegum. Generic fruit.

Flavor Description: At a 4 day steep this tastes like pink bubblegum, mildly sweet. Very faint hint of artificial dragon fruit, not unpleasant. It's missing dragon fruit and that slight hint of tangy slightly sour note.

At a 4 week steep, this is a very nice bubblegum with a generic fruitiness in the back. Maybe at higher percentages the dragon fruit will become more prominent? It's not a juicy fruit type gum. It's the mouth watering big square of Bubblicious. The strength at 4% is moderate, but for a nice full flavored gum I would go to 6% and add additional fruit flavors.

Off Flavors: Bubblegum

Throat Hit: 1/10

Pairings: Almost any artificial or candy like fruit, mints.

Notes: I am going to use this as a bubblegum honestly. I will try to make a nice tangy watermelon and a grape version of Bubblicious using candy or artificial flavorings rather than fresh fruits. It will be fun to see how that generic fruity back note will accent additional fruit flavors.

Awesome , i have been on a quest to find a great pink bubblegum flavor after trying nearly everything over the years from other vendors .

Purilum's bubble gum flavor must be the Dragonfruit.

I hope it works for you! Maybe I'm dragon fruit taste blind? I would love to hear some others input on what they get from it. Still haven't tested it at a higher percentage either. Maybe at 9% it tastes like dragonfruit?

On my practice PRL does have tendency to develop fully over a week, not less. So I suggest you to try it again in a couple of extra days of steeping.
