hey guys anyone know how good/or bad these flavors will be from this company?https://www.nicvape.com/DIY-Kit. i have ordered this kit as a beginner and am worried i wont be able to make anything good now i have realized in nz there are some horrible vape juices on the market. hoping i can make something palatable out of this product before i buy some reputable flavors.
Hi there, fellow kiwi here. I can't speak to the quality of these and to be honest I've only been DIYing for about 6 months. I started though with a similar kit from NudeNicotine thought and very quickly found out some issues with this type of set-up.
- Mixing by volume is a pain; get scales and mix by weight.
- Mixing from unusual flavour vendors is very hit and miss. You can't use the recipes from here and will likely produce meh e-juice (if lucky) or awful (if unlucky).
Find some simple well received recipes (Mustard Milk or Kiwi Bourbon for example but look [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/wiki/first_order_flavors( for more) and get the flavours for those using the nicotine and VG/PG you got in the kit. I use ecigexpress which will take up to three weeks but I have found them reliable and have a wide range.
Oh and read the sidebar.
PM me if you have any other questions about ordering etc
Edit: Formatting Edit: I realise that this sounded a bit negative towards the flavours you have in-bound. I see that they recommend 5-10% as a percentage of total. Start with single flavors in a mix at the low side of this. Find a favourite that will get you up and running, then you can start to experiment. Try to keep the total flavour below 20% if mixing flavours together. This is a rule of thumb only but it is easy to use too much and end up with no taste at all due to olfactory fatigue. Good luck.
great advice! no problem on negativity its possibly just fact on those flavors.ill defo go scales soon. i recon i can make a minty fresh menthol to see me through until i make another order.
That should be a pretty simple mix no matter the flavor manufacturer. Start low though, any type of mint and/or menthol I've used have been really strong
Yet another kiwi here 😁
I second what Kraftykiwi has said.
Ditch mixing by volume - it's time consuming, clumsy, involves a lot of clean up and can actually be quiet inaccurate. You can get scales that measure 0.01g fairly cheaply through trademe etc.
What flavours did you choose? Looking at the image, it looks like they may just rebottle the common brands, so doing recipes off here and other websites may not be a complete write off.
I personally use GremlinDIY for all my flavours - they only take a week to get here 🙏
Out of interest, which juice lines did you try in NZ?
Feel free to flick me a message if you have any other questions - more than happy to answer any questions you may have 👍
What's the postage cost like? Mine from ecigexpress has been between $29.25 and $40.00 US but you can get a %10 discount with code ECFFORUM. GremlinDIY carries Holy Vanilla which is on my wish list.
i went for some peach ,strawberry ,baravian cream ,banana and some mint/menthols. if i can make a good menthol ill be happy until i place another order. thanks for great advice!!
Yes, you can make a few simple mixes that will be good enough to get you through the first research stage where you can find some good sounding recipes and order flavors for them. Just remember to single flavor test throughout the process so you can learn your flavors better and not get overwhelmed by having so many to do at once. Also, keep in mind that less is more. I know this sounds counter intuitive but if you think a mix doesn't taste like it has enough of a flavor in it, it is usually means you have too much of that flavor in it and it is muting. Not always but usually.
dragon ,i took one vape tasted like harsh vape no menthol disgusting ripped off. vape ez tasted cheap nasty emergency only. they were from a levin sex shop lol im in whanganui no vape shop yet lol. cant wait to not need shops DIY for me! think it arives today!
Lol I think the fact they came from a sex shop says it all 😂😂. There are some good lines in NZ but you'd need to buy directly from them (either through their b&m or their website).
Welcome to the world of DIY - it can be frustrating at times, but ridiculously rewarding at the same time 😂😂
its exciting for sure it didnt arrive this morning.. i started fruity as thats all i have vaped so far. creamy fruits and menthol fruits.

You don't need to change them anywhere near as often as prebuilt coils. I generally change mine every couple of weeks (cotton gets changed every couple of days) just because I'm changing what I vape daily and so they get hella gunked up, and cleaning them properly is more effort than just building a new set 😂😂
sweet thought as much!
I'm lazy and make my cotten and coils last even longer. I change my cotton out once a week or two and my coils every couple of months. Nasty? maybe lol.

Judging from the list of flavours you can choose from, they're a mix of TFA/TPA and Capella. It's unlikely they've developed their own flavours. They could also be knockoff rubbish but they wouldn't stay in business long that way.
i emailed them and they said they are not bottled from the tfa or capella .so fingers crossed they are not horrible ,but im expecting the worst.
Hm... strange. Could be Hangsen or other Chinese manufacturers. Either way I hope they're decent enough to use matey. Best of luck.
