Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of April 14, 2017
submitted over 8 years ago by AutoModerator

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! If you are impatient and want to do this on your own, here are a couple of good links:

  • /u/daath has a nice website that has this functionality, but you will need to register to make it work. It is not very intuitive but if you work with it you can input your flavors and get a list of recipes that you can make. IMO this is the better site if you have the patience to make it work for you. Edit2: to get this to work, first set up an account. Then add your flavors to the stash (under my page / my flavor stash). hit save. Then go back to the front page and click the link next to the search field, "Search by flavor stash". You can select a couple of your flavors and recipes that have those will pop up.
  • This site has a nice big search button with just what you're looking for.

Happy Mixing!

What interesting things could I make?

Avoria Wildberries (waldfrücht) Avoria Raspberry Dream Avoria Apple Happy Juice Pear Happy Juice Mango Vampire Vapes Heisenberg Smoking Bull Royal Hawk K-Boom Cherry Cola Cakeberry Burst

I've experimented with an equal mixture of the first three, tastes pretty amazing at first, but the afterflavor is lacking, or even a bit disappointing.

Hazel's Custard looks awesome. I'm sure you can try it with brown sugar or butterscotch instead of caramel.

Thanks, never thought of a kiwi energy drink. Just posted up some flavours I have that I don't have recipes for already.

Wait, this isn't all the stuff you have? The idea of a kiwi energy drink was just the best I could come up with using that list. If you have other flavors there are plenty of other things you can do with FW Kiwi.

Bro, I made two batches of the IC. One with FA Peppermint at 2.5% and one with FA Cappucino at 2%. Both are great and I think I found my Ice Cream base after many failed attempts with FW VBIC. I am not a fan of TFA VBIC. Thanks

You're welcome! Yeah, LB's ice cream is very airy feeling, almost more of a whipped cream than an ice cream, but has great flavor. Add some CAP to thicken it up and some Meringue to sugar that up and you should be good on the vanilla ice cream base to mix with just about anything.

  • TPA Bavarian Cream

I have been mixing Mothers Unicorn Milk (Subbing the TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust w/ NY Cheesecake&Graham Cracker) and some varieties of Strap-On. Looking for something fruity/creamy. I am trying to avoid Bavarian Cream as it seems to give me a weird taste even after steeping it.

Good morning all. After my recent deployment, I decided to splurge a little, and buy some new flavors. Most of the flavors are for clones I want to try, but I figured I'd see what else you guys have for me. As always, thanks in advance!

CAP green apple

FA peach

TFA strawberry ripe

LA watermelon

TFA grape candy

TFA sour flavor

FA mango

FW strawberry lemonade

Ethyl maltol

FW apple double

FW hard candy

FW marshmallow

FW white grape

Menthol

TFA Watermelon

LA Watermelon is such a great ingredient. There is really no end to the fruity and candy stuff you can do with that one.

It's not going to be a clone, but you can do something along the lines of Watermelon Crack: 6% LA Watermelon, 4% TFA Grape Candy, 1.5% FW Hard Candy, 1.5% FW Marshmallow, 1.5% TFA Watermelon, 1.5% (or to taste) Menthol.

Apple and Watermelon make a great pair, try: 6% LA Watermelon + 3% CAP Green Apple.

Add some strawberry to that and make it a Strap-On: 4.5% LA Watermelon, 2.5% CAP Green Apple, 5% TFA Strawberry Ripe, 1% FW Marshmallow.

Or leave out the apple and just make a strawberry watermelon: 5% LA Watermelon, 6% Strawberry Ripe, 2% TFA Watermelon, 1% FW Strawberry Lemonade.

It'll also pair well with peach, try: 4% LA Watermelon, 2% FA Peach, 1% FW Marshmallow.

To give you at least one non-watermelon thing, try a mango candy vape: 0.25% FA Peach, 1.75% FW Marshmallow, 0.5% FW Hard Candy, 2% FA Mango.

I have two specific juices in mind that I would like to get close to: shlurp cold filtered, which is like very sweet fruit cola (the cola is just a hint), and tropical glacier by novavapes which is a sweet peppermint tropical juice that seems to be predominantly kiwi and pineapple with some other tropical fruit in there (maybe dragonfruit?) and light strawberry. These are flavours I have that might be suitable:

lime tahiti cold pressed FA, pear FA, peach FA, juicy peach FA, watermelon FA, beryl raspberry FA, lemon sicily FA, peppermint FA, tanger mandarin FA, kiwi FA, pineapple TFA, strawberry TFA, strawberry ripe TFA, mango TFA, citrus punch TFA, dragonfruit TFA, cola TFA, sweetener TFA

I've pulled these flavours and percentages out of my ass as a starting point:

  • dragonfruit TFA @ 2%
  • kiwi FA @ 3%
  • lemon sicily FA @ 0.25%
  • mango TFA @ 2%
  • peppermint FA @ 1.5%
  • pineapple TFA @ 1.5%
  • polar blast @ 1.5%
  • strawberry ripe @ 3%

aaand maybe try some cola in there at 1.5%

I just want some opinions before I mix, I'm still waiting on a couple flavours to arrive like mango and cola and peppermint before I can start trialling. Also, any recommendations for random mixes with those flavours are much appreciated even if it doesn't fit the profile I'm mainly talking about.

Also I love sugar lips but have never made a juice that does that for me yet. Is that only doable with sucralose?

EDIT: I realise this post is semi-clone territory, but I don't really care about clones, and I doubt I could get clone help anyway as these are UK juices and shlurp in particular no one seems to have heard of. I just mention this because I know I like it and want something similar: tropical, fruity, icy, sweet. ALL recommendations are wanted and appreciated.

Sweet fruit with a hint of cola sounds very interesting. Mixing peppermint with tropical fruit grosses me out, though. The iciness of Polar Blast, yes, of course, but actual peppermint flavor?

Anyway, that is a ton of polar blast, you might want to cut that in half to avoid freezing your face off. Yes sucralose is the sugar lips thing. It doesn't take much. Try adding 1% TFA Sweetener for that.

As for a semi-random recipe that seems like it would be right up your alley, try:

  • 5% TFA Strawberry Ripe

  • 2% TFA Strawberry

  • 3% TFA Dragonfruit

  • 0.75% TFA Pineapple

  • 2% FA Pear

  • 1% FA Peach

  • 0.75% FA Polar Blast

  • 1% TFA Sweetener

Hi I would much appreciate if someone can suggest a nice fruit salad recipe for me i only have for now FA Forest Mix and FA Fuji and Coconut. i would like to add Mango, Pineapple, Strawberry, Kiwi what brand is the best and at what percentage. Also any other supplements to create a great recipe is much appreciated.

by ID10-Tover 8 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

You can mix something pretty tasty using just what you have: Try 3% Forest Mix, 2% Fuji, 1.5% Coconut.

There really aren't any "best" brands - I'll vary depending upon what you're trying to mix. For example, the best pineapple for one mix might not be the best pineapple for another. But, for pairing with what you have and for starting out with few flavors, I'd recommend FLV Mango, INW Pineapple, INW Shisha Strawberry or JF Sweet Strawberry (although TFA Strawberry, TFA Strawberry Ripe, and FA Strawberry are good too), and FA Kiwi. %'s will vary depending on what you're doing with them and are often a matter of trial and error. Also, if you're thinking of putting all of that into one juice, don't. It's too much; you will wind up with a muddled mess that doesn't taste like much of anything. Stick to three or at the most four "types" of flavors. What I mean by types is, if you want to make a strawberry-pineapple-coconut, that sounds great, and you might wind up using three different strawberry flavors and three different coconuts to make it taste great. But don't try to make a strawberry-pineapple-coconut-mango-kiwi-apple-mixed berry juice. That will probably wind up just being atrocious.

You can try subbing 2% CAP French Vanilla for the 3% TFA Vanilla Swirl in my Mother of God's Milk recipe.

You can also try a sweet Blue Razz Candy: Blue Raspberry Cotton Candy 5% + TFA Raspberry (Sweet) 3% + TFA Strawberry 3% + TFA Peach Juicy 1% + TFA Dragonfruit 1%. And if you want to make it more of sour blue raz candy, add TFA Sour 1% and CAP Juicy Lemon 1%

Bavarian Cream could be your best friend until you have a chance to get new flavors.

You can make this recipe: Cereally Easy Fruit Rings.

You could also try adding 2% Crunch Cereal to that to make it "crunchier."

You could make a banana cream: 1% Ripe Banana, 3% Bavarian Cream, 1% Meringue, 1% Sweet Cream.

Peach & Cream: 4% Juicy Peach, 5% Bavarian Cream, 1% Meringue, 1% Sweet Cream.

Mixed Berry Cream: 3% Harvest Berry, 2% Blueberry Wild, 4% Bavarian Cream, 1% Meringue, 1% Sweet Cream.

Or Pear-ringue: 2.5% Pear + 2% Meringue + 2% Bavarian Cream.

Thanks for responding! Out of curiosity, have you tried any of these yourself?

Not a one of them, exactly. Probably should have included that as a disclaimer. But I'm familiar most of the ingredients and also with typical use percentages and common pairings, and wouldn't have suggested them if I didn't think they were probably the best you could do with what you've got. As always, make small batches of anything that you've never tried before, in case you don't care for them.
