Was looking for a watermelon recipe and noticed there really isn't anything just attempting a true watermelon juice flavor - what would you use to try and recreate true watermelon juice? Would love some ideas, I have a lot of watermelon flavors but am no expert on where to start...
I tried my hand at this recently and I got some pretty good results. This is my favorite so far, it tastes like a very ripe, wet watermelon slice.
MFG | Flavor | Percentage ---------|----------|---------- FA | Red Summer | 6% TFA | Watermelon | 0.75% CAP | Sweet Guava | 0.5% TFA | Marshmallow | 0.5% N/A | Ethyl Maltol | 0.25%
I arrived at the same FA/TFA Combo to achieve the main profile notes. I think your sweet guava is probably a great move. I used FA Mango in my version at the same percentage. I added in some TPA Dragon Fruit and FA Cucumber to replicate more of the water content. I think a "flavorless" cooling agent like Polar blast would help with the illusion. Just rambling here man but your flavor selection was so similar to mine that it struck a nerve in a good way.
Watermelon usually is mixed with strawberry everywhere to make its taste more interesting. Try mixing for example:
Watermelon Real Flavors SC 0.35% Strawberry Real Flavors SC 0.85%
Yeah so little percentage, but just take these two flavors to your nose before mixing. Imagine watermelon heaven :D

What ya need is a little bit of inawara cactus... It makes stuff taste more "wet", and it should add more "water" sensation without changing the original flavor a whole lot...
I'd add half of whatever watermelon % you're mixing to start out.
This is one of the few instances where I personally didn't like INW Cactus. I find that it overpowers the watermelon flavor at all percentages.
I have been obsessing over this profile for 6 months and I completely agree with you. I have a dilution at 25% strength and even 1 drop in a 10 ml tester will start to distract away from the watermelon profile in an intrusive way. I must try your guava trick as yes, there is a hole in the FA that lacks that intangible yet signature "bite" that watermelon has. It is such a delicate and specific flavor...real watermelon that is. FA is 80 percent there...keeping us busy burning the midnight oil to crack the code...
