I only buy nudenic. I just switched to their smooth salts and am loving it. I buy 100 mg solution in vg only as I find max vg is the least harsh. I'm really a flavor chaser more than anything.

These are good people that really go above and beyond helping new mixers. Glad to hear you figured things out.

RY4 Double had no real tobacco note. Most likely most people interpret the Cyclotene as tobacco. Here's my "from the ground up" RY4 recipe. Haven't made it since this first test. The Flue Cured worked well because it's pretty sweet. Probably the best one I've had for RY4 style mixes is ECX Turkish. Same thing as the Super Concentrates Turkish that you'll find on Bull City and other sites that carry SC. It's nice and bold and kind of creamy. Works well with the vanilla and caramel stuff.

Here's one I did with Dark for Pipe. It was pretty good too. I was just playing around with the Maple Syrup, Vanillin, Brown Sugar, and Tobacco thing. I settled on the Turkish. My post here goes in to some more detail on it.

Start with 1% FA Lemon Sicily and see where that lands you. There are a ton of lemon cookie/bakery recipes out there you should enjoy.

The dinner lady remix already calls for 3% Lemon Sicily. If you bump it up it gets a weird after taste that isn't great. (I have literally made over 2000ml of this juice in the past month). I've tried bumping up the juicy lemon to 1.5% with good results. You can also scale back the butter and the graham cracker a tiny bit. The recipe is already almost 15% flavoring, so it can stand a little less. I mix the flavoring separately as a base and only use 11%, it comes out great on a dripper. The lemon seems to shine a little brighter that way.

It's a great lemon cream recipe with (I feel) a stronger lemon taste. Imo dinner lady remix tastes almost spot on like a lemon meringue pie, and while it's great it's not as refreshing as the DWML

Give it some age. New mixer here, but, first couple recipes I tried had strawberry ripe and they were harsh AF. Let em steep 3-4 days and it really changed for me, a lot smoother.

Nope, but it's shipping from Eastern Europe so I wasn't expecting speedy delivery.

I've kind of accidentally ended with a couple recipes that involved like 9 flavors, and they turned out pretty good. But I'd never do it on purpose, and I probably would never mix someone else's that has that many. I like them in the 3-5 range. When you consider how many flavor molecules are in the flavorings, when you get up in the 9 ingredient range you could end up with a shit ton of molecules all fighting for your tongue's attention.

Simple is best. Lately when I look for new recipes, I'm seeing 6+ (sometimes 10, wth) flavors. I nope out of them quick. I'm not saying they aren't some great ones using that many (Rhodonite comes to mind), but ~~most~~ a lot of them are just a muddled mess.

If you care to search the past few monthly recipe threads, I have posted at least one each month that have 3 flavors. Good feedback too. Sometimes I use up to 6, (4 on average) with a couple being additives used in a small but meaningful way. /u/ID10-T has quite a few great recipes if you want to search at alltheflavors.com.

So yes to your question. Keep it simple!

Some of the best recipes I've tried have had just three ingredients. /u/coop34's Kiwi Bourbon immediately comes to mind. It's incredible. I'm vaping /u/mlnikon's In A Godda Da Vida right now and it's an absolutely beautiful three-ingredient recipe. But other two- and three-ingredient recipes taste incomplete. Four seems to be a pretty good number (very often in the form of two main flavors, one supporting, one accent or additive) and it's where I tend to stop and ask myself, Do I really need more flavors, or just different flavors or a better balance of the flavors I've already got?

I don't know why you're immediately skeptical about recipes with 6 or more flavors, though. Coop's right, quite a few of them are just a big fat mess. But others are magnificent. You'll still get surprises, both good and bad, but the more you try the more you'll be able to tell at a glance whether something might be worthing buying and/or pulling out more than 6 flavors for. Flavor/development notes also help for me. If someone can really make a case for why so many ingredients are necessary, and their breakdown of individual flavors lines up with my experience of the ones in it that I've tried, I'm much more likely to give it a shot.

One of my top sellers has 4 flavours, another has 10. The one with 10 could likely still be very good with a few less but there's no way it could get down to 4 or 5. All depends on the recipe and the volume of flavour that you're going for

2% FA Fuji

Just to name a few, I like all these standalone. For cream I would have to say FA Fresh or FLV Cream. I'm not a big fan of vanilla, but DIYFS Holy Vanilla is a crowd favorite.

FLV Cream is a good one if you don't want a vanilla cream (use at 1%) for a bit of cream. If you do like vanilla, TFA Vanilla Swirl is the most versatile. CAP Vanilla Whipped Cream is another good one.

TFA Jack fruit is amazing. Flavor West has a pretty good Jack Fruit as well. I normally do about 5%.

If you want to go the quick and dirty route, get a cheap sawzall (search for "reciprocating saw") and tape/make a jig for your bottles. It will shake the ever-loving shit out of them as long as the trigger is pressed...

Cheapest method: break out the old fashioned arm shaker.

I always wondered if one of those watch winder boxes would do what you are thinking. I don't know if they can take the weight of a 30mL bottle.

My friend made one for himself, using some PC fans, maybe you would be able to do it as well.

I bought a used vortex mixer for $25 on eBay. Works great. I short my bottles by 2.5 ml which also helps. I hold the bottles side on the padishar123 instead of the bottom.

It was a bit rusty and missing a knob. I made a best offer on a $50 one saying no one else would buy it because of the looks and he bit. You can also use an ultrasonic cleaner which is next on my list. Buy an industrial looking one in the $80 range on Amazon.

I've been hanging around /r/ecr for a bit, and while it can be intimidating(Some of the users get a little salty now and again) the Daily Questions Thread is always a great place to seek advice. We won't bite, I promise!(Only if you ask nicely..)

Anyhoo...For a decent, single battery mod that isn't going to shatter your credit card, there's a couple of options. If you would rather have an internal battery device, I can recommend the Innokin CoolFire4 TC100. It's a very nice little device, with a great hand feel. I've had one for a little over a year now, and it's been solid. It's taken a couple of drops without any issues and has some fairly accurate Temp Control(TC) for nickel(Ni200), titanium(Ti) and 316L stainless steel(SS). I've used the TC function on Ti and SS(I'm allergic to nickel) so I can say that those work well. Of course, regular old Wattage Mode works just fine too! The CoolFire 4 does support 2 amp charging, which gets the 3300 mAh battery from empty to full in just under two hours, provided you've got it plugged into a wall wart that provides 2 amps.

If you'd rather have a mod with swapable batteries, the eVic VTC Mini/VTwo is also another great little device. It provides 75 watts via single 18650 battery, and does TC for Ni200, Ti and 316LSS. Again, I've used the TC function for Ti and SS, and while I wasn't impressed with the Ti, SS seemed to work well. Power/wattage mode works solidly, and the device is fairly small, so it's easy to take out and about. The 510 connector(Where the atty screws into the device) is a little on the shallow side, so tanks or RDA's with long 510's will need a spacer/washer to keep it from wobbling. Other than that, the mod is quite well built. I've dropped mine countless times without issue, it's been across the states and back four times and out of the country twice with zero issues. I've retired mine, but if I needed a great mod for under $50 this is the one I would pick-hands down.

As for RDA's, I'm not too well versed. I use RTA's almost exclusively and the one RDA I do use for tastings isn't made anymore. I can however recommend the Nalu RDA. It's a two-post design like the Velocity-styled decks that are all the rage, but it's got some fairly beefy lead holes so that you can fit some of the bigger wire types in there should the need arise. It's also has bottom-fed airflow, which you would be used to coming from tanks. I prefer bottom-fed airflow myself, but they can leak if you angle them too sharply when taking a pull.

That's what you're putting in a 10 ml bottle? That's like 52% flavoring.

Really the only way to test flavors is with an RDA. If I were you I'd look for a cheap rda to use, maybe even a single coil for easy rewicking.

I'd honestly recommend getting a good RDA. It's a whole lot easier to flavor test with an RDA than it is with a tank. And, for the most part, the flavor is better on a good RDA. Doesn't have to be expensive, a Velocity clone can be had for cheap, or pretty much any clone

I always test my mixes with an rda. Either my Kennedy or Hadaly clone.

If I'm mixing for subtank users I'll up the flavor percentage a little. If it's for MTL tanks I'll up the flavor percentage even more.

I use a bridgeless atomizer for $4. It's not as good as a real coil or rba but you can test flavors back to back quickly.

Maybe FW Sugar cookie? It's a pretty dark flavor

It's all there for sure. There are some videos out there somewhere if you like visuals. And as Edible says, just find the recipes that both appeal to you and have POSITIVE feedback (there are some real turds floating around). Check the "best of" and the monthly threads. Also alltheflavors.com and sort by rating to see plenty of mixer reviews.

I just started in December. I did a TON of reading in forums about methods and equipment. I suggest using eliquid recipes and mixing by weight. All you need beyond materials is bottles, an accurate scale, and pipettes. A label maker and shaker are optional. The hard part is learning to use pipettes and what types of notes to take. Steeping is mandatory so be patient and have fun.

Pineapple flavors can be brutal. TFA's Pineapple is notorious. INW's is a kinder, gentler pineapple, at least to me. CAP's falls somewhere in the middle.

At 1% CAP's version wouldn't be a harsh throat to most people, I think, but you might be more sensitive to it than most people. Of course throat irritation could be from number of factors but if you've narrowed it down to 1% CAP Golden Pineapple, that's only a little surprising. Have you noticed any other flavors being especially harsh to you? Citrus maybe? Or peach/mango?

I'm not sure what you are trying to do here. Trade your three for something else?

None that I know of. I have about 12 chocolate flavors, and only double chocolate clear is clear.

Only chocolates I have are TFA Fudge Brownie (if you'd consider that a chocolate) and TFA White Chocolate. I'm about 89.3% sure one of them was clear. I'd have to check later when I go down to lab (just a desk in my basement) unless someone else can confirm or deny one or both of those.

A little late getting back to you. But TFA White Chocolate is pretty clear. Fudge Brownie was definitely not.

That's too much grape candy, try .5%. Lower the razzleberry and berry mix to 2% each, the raspberry sweet to 1.5%, the INW raspberry to .5% or lower, and drop the sweetener entirely. Maybe increase sweet strawberry to 2 or 3 percent.

I'd say you're overdoing it, there's too much going on in there. But the biggest problem is the sweetener. Fruits and berries tend to already contain Ethyl Maltol which is notorious for muting flavor, and when you put this many of them together, the EM stacks up. Add a sweetener to that which also contains EM and you're putting a damper on the whole thing.

So try skipping the sweetener, the sweet strawberry and the grape candy for starters. I don't know how the first two concentrates work together as I've never tried them, but if it's still muted, I would try leaving one of them out. At +17% you're pretty high on flavoring as it is.

It can, especially sugar cookie tends to be a little bitter the first week, even more so if you use too much of it. Bitterness can also come from a base (PG) gone bad, you might want to try vaping it unflavored just to rule that out.

I'm impatient too so I avoid things that require a steep. Fruits and berries are very forgiving.

Don't breathe mixes unless you need to get rid of alcohol in certain flavors. And skip the hot bath

So a couple of weeks onwards, and my new thoughts on these two: Citrus Crush - the first week+ sometimes it would come through with a harsh throat hit, but then I get used to it. Today though, I'm actually really enjoying it. It seems to have smoothed out, and I'm also getting like a sherbet-y wet mouth feel.

Dragonchee - yeah, not sure I should go so heavy on the Dragonfruit next time. It's not terrible, but I don't know if I like the flavour so strong. Next time I'll probably stick to using it as more of a -bringing-flavours-together- mix, instead of so much on its own.

I still would like a stronger lychee idea/recipe though.

I hear what you are asking, you don't even want to try it if it taste like nuts, it will make you sick...I wish I had the answer, I am new too and I have the same question. I am ordering some in my current order and hoping I understand what it is for. I think it makes the flavor of like the cooked edge around a sugar cookie and adds to the fried taste in Donuts. This is how it was first described to me, It's a flavour that at low percentages 0.25-0.5 gives a grainy,crispy texture (great for cereals )and at higher percentages it tastes more like corn chips or popcorn. People use it more for the texture it gives to the vape rather then flavour as such. Ever seen that Doritos ejuice?, that will probably just be AP at 3%

as a tool to give grain and texture to a vape or to accent and empathize certain notes such as notes.

INW Watermelon is my favorite out of the bunch. A lot of people like LA Watermelon (Colorless) if you like candy type flavors. You'll find most recipes using LA more than anyone else.

INW Peach leans heavily to a peach ring flavor. FA White Peach is good just has to back some other peach up in the mix. TFA Peach Juicy makes me wish I had cancer but a lot of others like it.

TFA Pear and FA Pear are all I ever see people use. I have never messed with them very much. FA Pear is always used to give TFA's version more depth. INW Pear is apparently really realistic (like most of their fruits) but I've never tried it.

If you like these type of flavors I recommend you pick up INW Cactus. In low percentages it gives that wet taste that all of these fruits have in real life. Plus it tastes fucking amazing.

Your Butter/LA CCI idea looks good. I don't know about the Vanilla Swirl/TFA Greek idea. Depends on what you're trying to sub it into really. It will be wildly different from the original recipe for sure, if it's a question of whether it would still taste good (or perhaps even better than the original) to you, depends. A combination of TFA Sweet Cream and FLV Sweet Cream might be closer, though still a ways off.

Depends a bit on what flavors you use and what you're trying to achieve. Mixing apple with pear and mint can be nice and fresh, but pretty one sided. Mix that same apple with strawberry and peach and you can get a rich flavor with lots of nuances.

A common mistake that I've made more times than I care to admit is to add too many flavors to a mix. When a recipe tries to pull in too many directions at once, flavors start to cancel each other out and it gets hard to identify the individual flavors and turns into a muddled mess. Beyond the handful of flavors that make up the main profile you should only add things that will enhance or tweak those flavors. If you can pull that off, you'll end up with a unique and complex flavor with many aspects that a simpler juice won't have, but it's a long and rocky road with lots of failed iterations.

For this reason it's best to start by finding flavors that work together and keep it simple. Then you can start to add and tweak things little by little.

That recipe went through a lot of changes but it did start at 2-3 flavors and evolve from there. I wouldn't say it's inherently better than any good 2-3 flavor mix, but the things I added beyond that were to give depth to certain flavors and add nuance. It's important to start simple and stop when it's where you want it.

Some people enjoy them. I personally don't. The couple that I've tried just tasted all wrong. That being said there are flavors that don't contain diketones that are good. Just not the DX line AFAIK

TFA DX line and CAP V2 line are loaded with Butyric Acid, which is the chemical that gives vomit its smell. Turns a lot of people off from them. They have insanely long steep times, too.

I personally don't get bothered by BA in concentrates but others are more prone to tasting them more intensely.

Sure! Just give it a good shake after adding to be sure it is mixed well. Some mixers even let their juices steep first without nic and just add it a few days before use to avoid oxidizing the nic.

27 FTW! It is the closest you'll find for frosted flakes. A small bit of Acetyl Pyrazine or TFA Cheesecake/Graham is a good compliment. I have just started playing with TFA Lucky Leprechaun, it is pretty light at 3%, need to bump it up but it seems ok from that one tester.

FLV Cinnamon Crunch, FA Cookie, CAP Sugar Cookie, FA Meringue, and FW Hazelnut are all pretty big staples in creating most cereals you can imagine. FA Almond, CAP Marshmallow, and FW Yellow Cake are sub-staples for tweaking recipes to perfection.

Put a bit of caramel in with the Cereal 27, you won't be disappointed
