Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of April 07, 2017
submitted over 8 years ago by AutoModerator

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! If you are impatient and want to do this on your own, here are a couple of good links:

  • /u/daath has a nice website that has this functionality, but you will need to register to make it work. It is not very intuitive but if you work with it you can input your flavors and get a list of recipes that you can make. IMO this is the better site if you have the patience to make it work for you. Edit2: to get this to work, first set up an account. Then add your flavors to the stash (under my page / my flavor stash). hit save. Then go back to the front page and click the link next to the search field, "Search by flavor stash". You can select a couple of your flavors and recipes that have those will pop up.
  • This site has a nice big search button with just what you're looking for.

Happy Mixing!

You just gave me an idea for this:

RF SC masala chai 2%

TFA VBIC 3%

Chai ice cream! It might need something else or variations in % but I'll bet it's at least pretty good as is

If you don't have FW Sweetener for that, don't try to sub 1% CAP Super Sweet for it. Go with 0.5% instead if you want to follow the recipe, but really 0.25% should be sufficient. Sorry if I'm telling you something you already know, just trying to prevent a mistake.

Besides being the lone INW, Lime looks a little out of place with your other ingredients. What are you doing/have you done with that?

2 points

by LimeDriveover 8 years ago

I added the lime for fun to top off my shopping cart. It seemed appropriate because of my screen name. It does indeed not follow the theme of my other ingredients lol.

I guess mainly I'm going to play with rich, sweet, creamy, buttery vanillas and see where that goes. I'm curious about trying CAP NY Cheesecake and VBIC.

Hope you're doing well, sir.

Well you can't just be LimeDrive and not use lime, can you?

Try a Coconut Lime Milkshake: INW Lime 1%, TFA Coconut Candy 1.75%, CAP VBIC 6%, FW Bavarian Cream 1.5%.

Crustless Key Lime Cheesecake: INW Lime 1%, CAP New York Cheesecake 6%, CAP Super Sweet 0.25%, FW Sweet Cream 1%.

Cupcake with Key Lime Frosting: INW Lime 0.5%, TFA Vanilla Cupcake 5%, TFA Butter 0.25%, CAP VBIC 1%, CAP NY Cheesecake 1%.

Or Coconut Lime Candy: INW Lime 0.75%, TFA Coconut Candy 1.75%, TFA Vanilla Swirl 4%, CAP Vanilla Whipped Cream 1%, (optional) CAP Super Sweet 0.25%.

For a lime-free, rich buttery triple vanilla custard, try CAP Vanilla Custard 6%, CAP VBIC 3%, TFA Vanilla Cupcake 3%, FW Sweet Cream 1%, CAP NY Cheesecake 0.75%, TFA Butter 0.5%.

If you try that last one and like it but start to find it boring because it's just vanilla on vanilla, you could easily pull the vanilla cupcake and replace it with your Maple Pecan, Hazelnut, Cinnamon Roll, Butter Pecan, Blueberry, Dulce de Leche, or maybe even Coconut Candy.

For anyone wondering, those TFA flavors that, according to Nicotine River, are the 10 "best," include Strawberry Ripe, Bavarian Cream, Cheesecake Graham Crust, Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, Sweetener, Vanilla Swirl, Sweet Cream (really, NR?), Blueberry Extra, Vanilla Custard (dafuq?), and Dragonfruit.

Fallfastasleep, with your TFA concentrates, try Mother of Dragons' Milk.

You could also make a Snake Oil-type juice: 2% INW Pear, 5% TFA Bavarian Cream, 1.25% TFA Coconut.

And a snickerdoodle cookie: 7% CAP Sugar Cookie, 3% CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl, 3% TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, 1% TFA Bavarian Cream, 1% Sweetener.

You've got some great flavors here! I don't even know where to begin with other suggestions. What are some juices or recipes you've liked? Do you have a flavor there that you know you like and want to try more of? Answers would help to suggest something that you're more likely to enjoy.

Alright, then. Have yourself a tropical fruit party: 5% INW Pineapple, 3% CAP Sweet Guava, 2% CAP Sweet Mango, 1% TFA Dragonfruit, 0.75% TFA Coconut.

Or a Pineapple-Pear: 4% INW Pineapple, 1.75% INW Pear, 1% TFA Dragonfruit, 0.5% TFA Coconut.

Or a Pineapple-Orange Juice: 5% INW Pineapple, 2.5% FW Blood Orange, 1.25% CAP Sweet Mango.

Or Pineapple Ice Cream: 5% INW Pineapple, 2.5% TFA Dragonfruit, 6% TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.

Looking to make a killer blueberry juice. My core blueberry flavours I have are:

  • FA Bilberry
  • INW Bilberry Shisha
  • CAP Blueberry
  • TPA Blueberry Wild

I've got a wide selection of other flavours/boosters, creams, cactus , vanilla shisha etc, so if you think these blueberry flavours could benefit from something else don't be afraid to suggest it as I probably have it. Otherwise, I think surely there could be a killer blueberry vape within the four primary blueberry flavours I have. Cheers in advance guys for any suggestions! :)

by ID10-Tover 8 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

Afraid I can't help much, since FA Bilberry is the only one of those I have any real experience with. Use that one low, like 0.5%. My favorite combo for a killer blueberry juice is TFA Blueberry Extra, FW Blueberry, and FA Bilberry, with just a hint of CAP Italian Lemon Sicily.

Lemon flavors can really make blueberries pop, it doesn't have to be that particular lemon flavor. If you feel like your blueberry mix doesn't have anything wrong with it as far as weird off notes or unpleasant qualities, but is just slightly dull and needs to be more vibrant, try a little lemon with it, not enough to actually taste lemon, just a enough to enhance the berries. Good luck!

by robbiepellagreenover 8 years ago

Awesome thanks for that tip about the lemon boost man! I've got some FA Lemon Sicily that I will keep on hand to make the blueberry flavours pop. I know most people are pretty anti-sweetener around here, but could using a touch of CAP Super Sweet also have the same 'popping' effect as it contains citric acid, which is what I'm assuming makes the flavour pop when using a lemon flavour? Or is it more that the lemon flavour in the background enhances the overall blueberry flavour?

1 points

by ID10-Tover 8 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

It's that lemon flavor. FA Lemon Sicily will work. To see how well it works, try a very small batch of something like 5% CAP Blueberry + 0.5% FA Bilberry side-by-side with the same thing plus 0.5% FA Lemon Sicily.

How did you make God Milk without TFA Dragonfruit?

Try Coop's Kiwi Cheesecake and the award-winning Apple Buttah.

Dear father idiot it's been months and I have been sinning. Somehow in my boyish enthusiasm I subbed the dragon fruit for CAP and I've been making the recipe from my elr copy. I've been supping on this Imposter, this milk of amnesia. I've been bad.

Say a few Hail Mary's and tell everyone ABDC (why does everyone insist on calling it ABCD?!) is the best thing you have ever vaped and you might not burn in hell.

In the interest of giving you more than two suggestions, is there anything in that growing stash of yours that you're keenly interested in finding a use for?

Thankful for any suggestions. I have already made: Mother of Gods Milk, Grack, Pebbles, Apple Bacco, Best Damn Pink Lemonade, Nanner Bear Clone.

Interested in doing: something citrus-y, something with my banana flavors that doesn't taste like candy banana, experimenting with cactus, especially something like Grack with the grape substituted for another fruit.

Thanks for your help!

Edit Afterthoughts:

Pink Lemonade is one of my go-tos.... if I need to just carry a single juice with me to work, it's either a sweet tobacco flavor or pink lemonade. Would like to experiment with that recipe, just need help picking out different flavors and percentages. Let's say I use this as a lemonade base:

LA-LEMONADE 6.00%
FA-LEMON SICILY 0.75%

Then what % LA Blueberry should I use? I am going to get more Blueberries because while the LA is delicious, I have been S&Ving it with Strawberry Ripe & Cotton Candy and may get tired of it as the focus of multiple juices. How would Dragonfruit or Black Cherry work? Could Black Cherry be used for a limeade juice?
Do I have the flavors to make a sweet creamy juice without fruit flavors? I am definitely going to order honeysuckle so I can try Longing.

1 points

by ID10-Tover 8 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

I can't help with the LA Blueberry because I haven't tried it, but when you go to get more blueberries I highly recommend the combination of TFA Blueberry Extra, FW Blueberry, and FA Bilberry. If you only have room in your life for one more blueberry though, go with the the FW.

I love TFA Dragonfruit but Dragonfruit Lemonade doesn't sound great to me, at least not by itself. However, if you want to take that "dragonberry" combo of dragonfruit, strawberry, and strawberry ripe used in Mother of God's Milk and replace the Bavarian Cream and Vanilla Swirl with your lemonade base, that might be tasty. If you do that, try adding 1% Meringue to it.

You might try this Cherry Limeade. I can't vouch for it, but there's your black cherry used for a limeade. However, you'd have to buy FA Lime Distilled and Super Sweet for that one, and if you're going to go buying stuff for it, here's one with a different cherry that looks good and makes use of the cactus and dragonfruit you already have.

Yes, you can make a sweet creamy juice without fruit flavors out of meringue, vienna cream, cream cheese icing, bavarian cream, vanilla swirl, and toasted marshmallow. I think the result would be pretty boring without the addition of Soho, RY4, Hazelnut, or Caramel Cinnamon Roll, though. Any of those sound especially good to you to build a sweet creamy non-fruit vape around?

If you hurry (it's only on sale for five more days!) you can get a deal on everything you need to make Longing and have generous portion of the cost go to yours truly!

2 points

by loIwtfover 8 years ago

Yeah, all of those blends with the cream sound tasty. What % would you use to make a sweet creamy double ry4 with those flavors?

Would Caramel Cinnamon Roll and Cream Cheese Icing be a good, simple recipe? Is there something else I have that would round it out?

On the Longing package, you'll be happy to know that I was actually already putting together a shopping cart on BCV. I had gotten those ingredients separately, so I will switch it right now & pull the trigger. Thanks. I am also REALLY wanting to work on a clone of Honey Suckle My Cuke, a flavor from B-X Vapor. I believe I have a pretty good idea of what to do, based on clues and some PMing with another Redditor who has tried it in the past. If you've had this juice and you happen to know for sure which melon(s) I need, please let me know. I am ordering tons of different ones. Thanks for your help.

Sweet Creamy RY4: 5% RY4, 4% Vanilla Swirl, 1% Vienna Cream, 1% Toasted Marshmallow, 1% Meringue. Let that steep for a week at least!

The thing about the Caramel Cinnamon Roll is that it gets weird pretty quickly if you go too high, but isn't strong enough to use low and be the backbone of your recipe. Those two flavors sound like an excellent pair to me, mixed with something else. My go-to would be TFA or one of the other Vanilla Bean Ice Cream flavors for a caramel cinnamon roll ice cream, but you don't have that. Bet you could probably do something along those lines with your Vanilla Swirl and Vienna Cream, though. Another option would be pairing it with apple and another other pastry flavor and having it be like a an apple cinnamon muffin with caramel cream cheese frosting. Maybe you could do something like that with your Fuji and Sugar Cookie. But if you really want to put Caramel Cinnamon Roll and LA Cream Cheese Icing together into a simple delicious recipe, I'd mix them with your Banana Nut Bread. I don't know what you'd call that, but I bet it would taste great.

Thanks for your support on the Longing pack. It's actually a good deal, too, like getting one of the flavors in it for free. I'm sorry, but I have no idea what's in that Honey Suckle My Cuke juice, as I've never tried it. I do know that TFA Honeydew and TFA Honeysuckle make a great pair, but is that even a honeydew in there, or is it watermelon, cantaloupe, or mix of melons?

Try: 6% Strawberry Ripe, 3% Strawberry, 4% Bavarian Cream, 2% Cheesecake Graham Crust.

If you like that, if/when you go to buy more flavors, TFA Dragonfruit and TFA Vanilla Swirl would be some good ones to pick up.

by PowerTattieover 8 years ago

i've just mixed it up so obviously it hasn't had time to steep, but initial impressions are that its quite tasty but the strawberry is a bit too fake. if that makes sense. reminds me of strawberry laces. Would lowering the strawberry 1% and upping the ripe solve that?

2 points

by ID10-Tover 8 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

Yes, that makes perfect sense, and yes, shifting 1% from Strawberry over to Ripe could solve that. You might find that unnecessary after it steeps for a week, though.

I really enjow fruit-cream vapes but a good bakery is welcome also. I am mostly making Mothers Milk, Strap-on (with dragonfruit), some Strawberry Sugar Cookies and solo srawberries with some marshmallow.

Looking for something new to try. Im welcome to recipes that need 1-2 more flavors that I don't currently have

by ID10-Tover 8 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

You can already make this Simple Sugar Cookie.

You would need TFA Vanilla Swirl to make it, but Mother of Dragons' Milk and if you had both that and TFA Strawberry, you could make Mother of God's Milk. If you had TFA Strawberry and TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust, you could make God Milk.

All you need is TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream to make this amazing custard recipe.

One additional ingredient is all you would need to make some other great Strap-Ons as well, like:

Sailing Strap-On

Fuzzy Strap-On

Wild Strap-On

Jack My Strap-On

Manly Strap-On

Suckle My Strap-On

Spiny Dragon Strap-On
