Making a Catalog of Concentrate Starter Kits
submitted over 8 years ago by Tiptup300

#Hello Mixers

I'm looking for groups of concentrates that are defined by what the mixer might be looking for. These could be great for experienced mixers or new mixers. The name of the Pack should really define what these are great for. For instance, if you're interested in getting into recipes with cream check out the FlavorArts Cream Starter Kit.

##The Example

The FA Cream Trifecta

> If you like cream and you want the right set of creams these do the job almost any time, any recipe. You can use these three in such different amounts of ways it's insane. Even just one will take you miles. My favorite creams by far.

  • FA Cream Fresh - Like perfect whipped cream. Fluffy, sweet, but not too sweet. Love this.
  • FA Meringue - Frosty, hard, crunchy, sweet, white.
  • FA Vienna Cream - Has a unique high end, but very unique taste. Medium Thickness.

This is very open ended and more of the idea is to open up further discussion. So please if someone posts one, tell them what you think and ask questions.

Thank you everyone! You're a fantastic community.

Please help out by giving your personal favorites and the opinion on them. Thanks!

Yes, definitely add Blueberry Trinity to that list.

I removed that one as I don't feel I have enough firsthand experience with Strawberries.

Would you consider JF Sweet Strawberry, INW Shisha Strawberry, & TFA Strawberry (Ripe) to be a good pack for someone interested in strawberries?

Please let me know what you think of my picks!

TFA Additive Pack

> If you feel you're at the level to start trying adding effects to your recipes such as chilling, cooling, sweetening, or AP. Check this one out!

  • TFA Koolada - Chilling/Cooling
  • TFA Acetyl Pyrazine - Adds grit, nuttiness, & dryness.
  • TFA Cotton Candy - Ethyl Maltol, candies flavor profile.
  • TFA Sweetener - Sucralose & Maltol, sweetens.

Popular Bakeries

> I feel as though Capella has some of the best bakeries, and it really shows being that so many people use all these flavorings so often. I love this set. So much can be done with them.

  • CAP Vanilla Custard - Base of soooo many recipes. Custards are simple and easy to use.
  • CAP Sugar Cookie - Base of sooo many cookie recipes. Can be used to sweeten as well.
  • CAP NY Cheesecake - The most popular cheesecake. Very tasty and accurate.

I think "Additives" pack might be a better choice than TFA Effects. This also doesn't pigeonhole you into only TFA additives. Almost every company has something to offer in that department, FLV has a whole new range of them. There are also alot of other flavors you can use to also achieve some similar goals when used as additives

Tobacco pack I'd just say the Inawera "for Pipe" line. They're the best I've come across so far.

I haven't seen any bad reviews for any of them. My personal favorites:

Black for Pipe

Dark for Pipe

Gold for Pipe

Captain Jack for Pipe

I don't much care for Am4a, but it seems to be pretty popular. I haven't had Vanilla for Pipe, but it also seems pretty popular.

Thank you that would be awesome!

Looking specifically for a small set of flavors that will introduce this "genre" of recipe to a new mixer. Or even an older mixer who is just interested in it but doesn't know where to start.

FA Black Tea: Very authentic black tea

FLV Lemon Tea: Another black tea with warm lemon tones.

FE Green Tea: Challenging to work with at times, but less grassy/earthy than TPA

How about, "For Use Outside (vaping)"? I really enjoy a drop of FLV Rich Cinnamon in my coffee.

That sounds like a good idea. Have any others you would recommend?

I know Young Lungz recommends FW Hazelnut.

TFA Banana Ripe is better in pancake batter than in juice.

TPA Strawberry goes great in angel food cake mix

OSDIY Blue raspberry slush on snocones
