There are lot of flavour manufacturers and all of them have the same flavours (apple, peach, watermelon, etc...) Can i find any website where i can select some flavour (like example TPA Sweet Strawberry) and get list of flavours which can replace selected flavour and how many of FA/FW/etc Strawberry should i use instead of TPA (x1.25/x0.54/...). Mb some additional notes like XYZ Apple is tastes more Natural YXZ Apple is candyish, ...
If it's still not exist - i can create web applicaton which will be able to do that (it's fine if someone else will pick up this idea and do that. in my case it can take one month or more, because i can spend not too many hours on home projects). Only thing i need from DIY-ejuice community is experience and knowledge. I expect it can be a real pain trying to collect this information trying to open every single page with flavour_reviews/recipes and search for that in comments. Not sure about ways to collect this information. It can be github repository with pull requests. Some expecrienced DIYers can accept these pull requests. It can be google docs. Or comments here. I just think it can be good to have this information available in one place.
Why? I see at least these reasons:
- you see some interesting recipe which use TPA flavour. you don't have it, but you have FW/FA/INV/etc
- you found some already existing recipe and would like to adapt it, because you don't like some flavour from specific brand
- you trying to create only safe recipes. sugar/acetoin/acetyl propionyl/diacetyl free
Alrernatively it can be a good feature request for e-liquid-recipes or alltheflavors if they interested in having this feature.

The inherent problem with this is that taste is subjective. Someone might say XYZ's strawberry is a 1:1 replacement while half the people can't stand/taste the alternative.
It would take a lot of work and the results probably wouldn't be worth the effort.
mb. but in case if feedback will be received from lot of people - most of them may say that it's 1:1, when just few of people will say that it's 1:0.75. it may mean that most likely it's 1:1. feedback from famous DIY'ers can be more trusted.
or as alternative it can be some sort of website where people can propose new percentages for replacements. the rest can vote for already existing proposals of propose some percentages which still not exists.
Trust Apex. It's not worth it. People use certain flavors in their recipes for a reason. They are not interchangeable for the most part.
Concentrates (or Flavorings) make up different Tastes (sweet, frosty, strawberry-y, syrupy, floral, candy, juicy, rindy, earthy, watery, cheesy, sour, buttery, crispy, cool, flaky) more than Flavors (Meringue, Cheesecake, Strawberry, Watermelon, Butter, Candy). These tastes come from the Volatiles used in the concentrate. Adding together these different tastes come together to trick the user into thinking they are experiencing one single flavor, this is called the Flavor Profile. Certain Manufacturers may tend to favor using the same volatiles over and over in different concentrates and it might give that manufacturer a distinct style of it's own.
It would be more similar to compare it to a 3d tetris of sorts when subbing out certain ingredients. Hitting the flavor profile as accurately as possible. Or even improve the flavor profile removing any off notes, or tastes that don't fully go along with the recipe's flavor profile.
Definitions
- A Concentrate is a combination of different volatiles used together to imitate flavor by way of it's Flavor Profile. These are made by a Manufacturer. Ex. TFA Strawberry, CAP Sweet Strawberry, TFA Strawberry (Ripe)
- A Volatile is a chemical, substance, or solution within a concentrate. Each volatile may have it's own set of tastes, effects, or textures when being vaped or smelt. Ex. Butyrate <2-methyl-, ethyl->
- A Flavor is the real world equivalent of a Flavor Profile, they are much more complicated than a typical Flavor Profile having many flaws and unique qualities that may or may not be desired. Ex. A Strawberry, A Strawberry Candy, Red Koolade.

about 6 years in web development. in DIY-ejuices about few months of mixing using already existing recipes. i understand that flavour profiles can be different. and understand that if i'll replace one flavour with another it will be different recipe from original. interested in having ability to sub something to change flavour profile of original recipe having flavours in right proportions. i almost sure if i'll do that having no knowledge about flavours strengths - a new flavour may overpower everything or will be not noticeable.
i get this idea when started my attempts to adapt one recipe to something i may like more than original. original is a good recipe, but looks like it was created at times when only TPA flavours were mostly available.

It is not lack of interest. It just won't work reliably. Recipe is ingredientA + ingredientB +ingredientC. I don't have A, but I have D, which tastes a lot like A. But this isn't quite like cooking, where I could probably substitute sliced pork loin for sliced chicken breast in a casserole and get a good result. Back to eliquid ... it's not only the slight difference in taste and how the three tastes relate to each other. It's all the volatiles of each of the three components interacting with each other. D might substitute nicely for A in one recipe but not another.
You're own pallette is the only way to do this. Everyone is different, I see a few recipes I like use cap sweet strawberry, to me it tastes super green so I'll use tpa strawberry ripe. If you don't have that particular flavor, try another. Be aware though that changes like this could make the recipe totally different.
