I mixed a large batch (300ml) of my daily vape to go to FL in Jan. After 20 hour drive, juice was brownish-orange and had a harsh, acrid vape that burned my lungs.
I just made up 100ml for a weekend trip of a regular flavor and after 2 hour drive, got the same result, off color and harsh as hell.
I searched here and read oxidation/steep can result in these symptoms, but I know this past weekend I mixed it Friday, bottled it, sealed it, put it in my bag and took it out Friday night and it was already fried.
I vape smok alien, ~30ml/day and have done 6 litres worth of simple mixes in my time and have never had this problem except when traveling. 50/50 base. When home I have to add ~9:1 base to fried to get it vapable again.

Heat is probably what's killing it. Are you leaving it in the trunk or in the cabin? I tend to keep mine in the cabin where the ac is on most of the time. When we stop for a break it's usually only 15-20mins so it doesn't get to hot in the cabin.
Thanks, heat was what I figured about the FL juice and why I never asked before. It was in the back of a pickup truck. This weekend's juice was in the cabin, with mild temp inside and outside, but the bag the juice was in may have been resting on the rear floor of the hatchback and maybe that heated up.
Can confirm, heat does this every time. I work at a public university, and they require you to be in your personal vehicle to vape on campus. In the summer, this has ruined several tankfuls of juice when I left my mod in the car all day. Now, I always put it in my lunchbox which contains cold packs. It's not ideal, but better than having a shitty vape until I get home.
I work outside and started vaping in October. I usually keep a fullish 10 ml bottle in my pocket to refill over the course of the day. Will this be an issue now that weather is getting warmer? At what temp does heat become an issue?
Anything much over 80 F is probably not helping matters. Also remember that being trapped in a plastic bottle doesn't let heat escape very well. Just make an effort to keep it as cool as possible for as much of the time as possible. Especially keep it out of sunlight.
I think another point worth considering is movement of the juice.
I noticed that the same thing would happen with juices that I would carry in my bag while riding my bike.
It's almost like you had it running on a magnetic stirrer which is a method some people use to steep juice.
