Setup: Goon LP, dual parallel 25g SS316L @ 0.10ohms, 80w with 100w preheat, 410 degree F temp limit, full cotton wicks
Testing: Real Flavors (Super Concentrate) Masala Chai @3%, steeped for 11 days
Flavor Description: warm spiced Chai! black tea brewed with cardamom and ginger with hints of cinnamon, and cloves. yes all of that is in there! this is already sweet tasting but not overly so.
Off-flavors: nothing you wouldn't find in masala chai
Throat Hit: a little bit from the spices. nothing close to bad.
Uses & Pairings: this may be a little hard to do anything other than a chai latte with, but it could be used in small amounts to add some warm spice to a mix. this will pair well with your favorite milks/creams and with other spice flavors for you spice ninjas. add some honey (not TFA) or sugary goodness if you want. it may be that you prefer more of a certain spice in your chai, this will be easy to tweak as most of the spices are available as standalone concentrates.
Notes: i could be wrong about the exact spices here as masala chai is brewed in many different ways. you might taste different things than me. this could be used up to 2.5-3% as the main flavor in your chai latte. i would start very low (0.25%) for any other uses.
Second Opinions: Real Flavors page nothing else available, if you've tried this add your thoughs below!
sounds good. i'm very tempted to buy this and a couple other things like their bread pudding. I had a dirty chai latte earlier today so it's funny to see this today because it's not something I often drink.
i gotta say i am happy with the 6 flavors i got, highly recommend the Cookies and Cream AND the lemonade. Cookies and cream is dark brown and I wouldn't use it above 2.5% in a mix, the final liquid is pretty clear colored and I have not noticed major coil gunking at all. Right at 2-2.5% its perfect in Vurve's Cookies and Cream Ice Cream
I used the lemonade at 1.5% to replace FW natural lemonade in my Lychee Raspberry Lemonade and it's tasty and flavorful even as a shake and vape.
Blueberry needs some help but its tasty, and their pineapple is very very good but I have not mixed with it yet. Pomegranate is ok, I still need to try it at 1%, 2% was way too much like a sweet cherry cough syrup.
Lastly, the baklava is still steeping but after 5 days I am noticing some of the flaky and grainy aspects shining through. Still very heavy on the rose water taste, as a shake and vape at 2% it's 90% rose water. It's spot on for rose water if anyone ever needs that in their arsenal.
Thanks for this review hope to see some more uncovered gems.
Thanks for the review! I've been looking to try some RF SC based off of a few comments in threads I've read, but I can't seem to find it anywhere other than the RF website. Is there any vendor out there that carries the SC line in bottles less than 30 ml?
