Real Flavors Cherry Pie - verdict after 2 month steep
submitted over 8 years ago by stayinwonderland

I tried this after the recommended month steep at 10% (recommended was 8%) and it tasted of nothing. So the community suggested 6 weeks is ideal.

Someone asked me to get back here with further results so that's why I posting.

After two months of steeping it tastes exactly the same as one month - nothing. Maybe a hint of alcohol.

This was a 50/50 mix.

So it went in the bin and I don't recommend it. Unless I'm supposed to use 20% but the thing is, I literally tasted no cherry pie at all, so doubling it would likely achieve nothing.

I think RF just puts some VG in a bottle and makes up a name.

I hit up their SC sale they had a little bit ago, and the Toasted Blend was the only flavor I was really excited to try since I thought it might work well in a tobacco mix. So of course that's the one out of the six that they sent in VG instead of SC. They were all free so I didn't figure I'd complain. Can't smell anything in the bottle and I'm not really excited to try it at 20% to get a faint flavor.

I've had this exact experience with all of "Real Flavors" flavors I've bought. Taste like nothing to me. Oh well.

I picked up a bottle as well and did the same. I revisited it every month or so at the recommended %. Nada. Maybe a slight cherry cough medicine flavour, and then alcohol.

I tried blueberry by them as well, pretty much the same thing.

damn, good to know it's not just me. Huge disappointment as this is a sought after flavor for me.

That's a shame to hear. This is one of my all time favorite cherries.

Weird you had this experience. I really enjoy RF flavors. There strawberry pastry is one of my favorite strawberry flavors, I get tons of flavor out of it

How do you shake/stir up the vg/aromas?

I liked this stuff. It was very light flavoured at first but I enjoyed it like that. Let it sit for maybe 2 months and color went a bit darker and flavor was a lot more noticeable.

It's really disappointing that so many people have had trouble with RF on here. Personally I've gotten the Oatmeal Cookie, Black Raspberry, and Butterscotch super concentrates and they've all been amazing. I just picked up a few more this weekend because of the sale. I think the key is to get the SC's though, not the VG-based flavors.

I think your review may be very honest. I'm tired of folks trying to puff up bad products (because they fell for the hype) and dumping them on other vapers. RF Cherry Pie might taste great to others but it's nice to know how you perceive it.

I never tried RF flavorings but try this if it didn't make any change in 2 months try mixing another small batch at 15% and letting it breathe, maybe that will take away the alcohol taste and give it some flavor?

Not to get off topic but I've tried 8 different RF extracts all VG based flavors and none of them I would buy again. Did the same as original poster and the only 1 that tasted even close to what it was suppose to be was the apple pie, that being said there are many other flavor companies out there that are better spending your money on. Haven't tried the SC (Super concentrated) ones that I here are much better.

All the RF I have bought taste like air. Nothing at all and the sad part is they were more expensive than CAP or TFA. Pure garbage IMO. Don't waste your time.

Damn...now you tell me. I finally got it in the free bunch after wanting to try it forever. I will try it at the 20% for the VG then and see if it's worth it. So glad they are turning them all into SC's only, I love quite a few of their flavors and it will be so much cheaper and easier to mix them!
