Heartland Vapes inconsistency
submitted over 8 years ago by nolphc

Hey guys, I recently took advantage of the 30% off Flavourart concentrates on Heartland vapes. This is my first time ordering through them, and I wanted to run a couple things by this sub to see if I should be dissatisfied or if this is par for the course.

For one, the batch number is posted on each bottle. The first 4 numbers seem to correspond to the batch date... Hence my first issue. 4 of the 12 30mls I received start with 2015, the other 8 stating 2016. I know that flavors won't necessarily degrade over the course of a year, but am I wrong in being a little peeved on receiving concentrate from 2015? http://imgur.com/FFQpQYx

Second thing is fill inconsistency. I don't think there is one bottle in my order that has the same amount as another. Some seem to vary almost 5ml. http://imgur.com/7BdbcHm http://imgur.com/VzkGqEv

Lastly, and I'm hoping someone can weigh in on if this is normal, but the FA custard and Apple Pie are quite dark. Oba Oba and Raspberry are tinting a bit, but no where near the level of the first two. This could be totally normal for the flavoring, but being my first experience with them I'm not sure. Main concern there is if the age is playing a role. http://imgur.com/NRuYxah

Thanks for reading, hope this doesn't violate any of the subs rules! Links also might be a little screwy, I'm doing this all on mobile.

Unfortunately that was most likely the reason for the sale.

Little deceptive but I think you may be right

I wouldn't worry about the colors or the varying amounts, but selling old concentrates really is a shitty practice if you weren't informed about it.

My FA custard is the same color. Tastes fine.

Well that's good news! Haven't had a chance to try it out yet

I had one the same colour also. it's not a normal custard you would expect though so be prepared for a different flavour than you may be used to. I quite liked it still, it was just more of a lemon flavour than a vanilla, like Italian custard.

That's more than likely the 30% off discount propose, to flush out of old inventory. I would at least address them with your disappointment, most importantly this is when you decide for yourself if they are worth YOUR money. They should disclose that is the purpose of the 30% off sale. There are other sites/companies that will perform your orders better. Plus those bottles they ship in SUCK! It's the reason I won't reorder from real flavors... PUT THEM IN DROPPER BOTTLES! I don't personally know anyone that still use pipettes or syringes, get with the times!

Apple pie is also normally dark.

Perhaps they fill the bottles by weight? I know certain flavors are heavier than others.

Hadn't thought of that, interesting point. Definitely doesn't disprove that point but the bottles all have different weights

Perhaps they fill to a minimum amount and some are just over filled?

This can be the case also. One vendor I use tends to overfill by 3-5ml every time and I can't complain about that

I've ordered TPA Vanilla Swirl from Heartland once. I noticed the same thing, namely that it was quite a bit darker than the stuff I usually get from BCF. I was out when I ordered it, so I didn't have a chance to test them side by side... but it did seem a bit muted compared to what I had been getting from BCF.

Based on my extremely limited sample size, I'd be inclined to agree that it's probably a bit old or had been exposed to air for a while.

I'm a vender and I've been using them for nearly 2 years. They've always done fantastic on my orders, but they're usually bigger orders (like several hundred bottles, liters of flavoring, gallons of VG). Also, their customer service is top notch. This all seems like stuff I'd sweat off, but if it's a deal breaker for you, let them know, they will make it right, I promise.
