RF (SC) Pomegranate
submitted over 8 years ago by PerennialPhilosopher

Setup: Goon LP, Dual parallel 25g SS316L @ 0.10ohms, 80w power with 100w preheat, 410 degree F temp limit, full cotton wicks

Testing: RF (SC) Pomegranate @1.4% Solo 50/50 VG/PG, steeped three days.

Flavor Description: This tastes like a sweetened pomegranate. at times it almost feels like the seeds are there somewhere, like a hint of earthiness that is so subtle its almost not worth mentioning. this is a very juicy flavor that almost sticks to my palate and lingers there. the tartness of a real pomegranate isn't very present here, its like putting sugar in a pomegranate puree. no notable texture except juicy.

Off-flavors: none, unless you count the LACK of tartness or added sweetness

Throat Hit: nothing noticable, very smooth

Notes/Suggested Pairings: first of all i think this would be amazing with some LA Lemonade! or in any kind of fruity drink really... I think the percentage of use will be from 1% as a support for other berries (especially Blueberry or Blackberry) to 2% as a main flavor or lead note. i could see this used in candy mixes, bakeries, drinks, berry blends, etc.

Second Opinions: i imagine other people got this during the sale so leave your opinions in the comments please! the Real Flavors site describes this as follows: "This seasonal fruit is an autumn/winter favorite. Mildly sweet and highly tart, pomegranates make a delicious snack and can be added to savory or dessert-style foods. Drinks like them too! Leave behind the chore of peeling those juicy red seeds out…that’s what we’re here for." seems like a description of pomegranates themselves rather than the concentrate. couldn't find any other opinions on this one.

Edit: changed bitter to tart for accuracy

Edit2: I just wanted to clarify that this is really tasty and juicy. I would recommend trying this!

Going to try this one before the weekend is over, I will let you know what I think

Edit: Also I think pomegranates aren't bitter inasmuch as they are tart.

This sounds more like grenadine than actual pomegranate. If that's the case, could be really useful if you're trying to make a number of cocktail-inspired vapes. Kinda making me wish I'd picked this one up when I was picking out RF(SC)'s from that promo.

I've never had a pomegranate grenadine but I think that sounds like a perfect comparison with my limited knowledge. If the others are as good as this one I might be convinced to buy several more!

I think RF has one or 2 gems that are going to be discovered thru the great sampler sale.... Though Pomegranate isn't one of them.

You tried it then? Or you got that from my review?

Edit: I'm just curious because I've never tried any other pomegranate concentrates so I have no basis for comparison to the existing ones.

No I haven't tried it, I got that from your review tbh.

I was just making an observation overall, I'm sure alot of ppl have samples that are steeping for reviews.

Well if you're looking for a tart pomagranate I guess you're correct. I don't think this concentrate is bad in any other way. I will be using it for sure.

I feel like RF are really not designed to be vaped at all. They have some really good ones that are good while vaped, but they seem more geared flavor-wise for candies or other food related things. Just my two cents on it.

AFAIK most of the flavors we use are not designed for vaping. The only one I know of that IS would be Flavorah

True, but it seems like some companies are starting to cater a bit more to them, not using diacetyl etc.

Real Flavors website shows the diketone content of all of their concentrates; that would indicate they are aware their flavors are being used for vaping right? That's not even mentioning the fact that this whole giveaway was aimed at vapers...
