Tobacco heads, what have you been making lately?
submitted over 8 years ago by templepilot

How about a general discussion on tobacco flavors and what people have been doing lately? Apologies in advance to any side bar police if a similar thread was made in 2013.

So, what recipes or concentrates have you been into lately? Having used mostly INW and FA tobaccos for the last year I've recently been trying concentrates I skipped over in the past, like TFA and Hangsen's range. Some of my favorite ones would be TFA Red Type, a strong analouge/light cigar taste, and Hangsen Highway, similar to FA Soho but sweeter and stronger.

A few recipes I've been mixing lately..

A medium strength analog cigarette flavour with a Cappacino style coffee and Caramel. The cereal in FA Up adds a bit of texture to the tobacco.

TFA Western 4%

FA Soho 6%

CAP Cappuccino V2 2.5%

FA Up 1.6%

A milky tea with caramel and vanilla. Not a huge RY4 fan but adds a texture/roughness to the smooth tasting Soho.

FW White Tea 3.5%

FA Soho 7%

TFA RY4 Double 3%

Authentic Pipe tobacco/Analog ciggarette blend with Vanilla. I usually make something similar to this for new vapers looking for a tobacco liquid.

INW Vanilla Pipe 6%

INW Vanila Shisha 2%

INW DNB 0.5%

Light tobacco and caramel notes and strong nut flavor.

HANGSEN Highway 5%

FA Glory 4%

FW Bavarian Cream 3%

TFA Peanut Butter 2%

Light and authentic rolling tobacco with a splash of Red wine.

TFA Red Type 2.5%

Tobacco Plum 3%

FW Merlot 3%

INW Grape 2%

FA Desert Ship 1 drop per 5ml

i usually only lurk and am still quite the newb so i have no original recipes, but i just got cap's fig and i'm wanting to do a riff on that blackberry fig tobacco recipe from about a year ago posted on this sub. looks amazing. a few days ago i made a version of the ry4n reynolds recipe (also from this sub) but used desert ship and 7 leaves (both FA) instead because i prefer them.

i'm really interested in this premade juice called nanner bear that i keep hearing about being a banana tobacco thing, but i literally just started right out diying and have never bought a pre-made juice and have a lot of hesitation re: doing so.

also wanted to lmao at yr jab re: side bar police. there's been a lot of that recently; it's kind of silly. i appreciate revisiting things and don't feel the need to constantly tell people they're posting in the wrong zone or whatever, largely because i have little invested in being right, or feeling self righteous. this aggression will not stand, man.

How was RY4N with those subs?

it was great! it's one of the only vapable juices i've made recently. anise/spicier tobacco flavors seem to be the only ones i'm having any luck with.

"Hangsen Highway, similar to FA Soho but sweeter and stronger"

Wow, going to buy this next time I order. Soho is my ADV, just plain jane Soho at 10%. Can you give a short review on what these recipes taste like and how the flavors play together? Thanks a lot

Awesome! I'm definitely going to try a few of these once I can put in a big order for new flavors.

My go to tobacco recipe, I make quite a bit of this for some friends.

Satan's Leathery Assh*le

TPA Western 3.5% TPA Bavarian Cream 6.5% TPA Sweet Cream 1.5% INW Strawberry Shisha 2%

by CrusaderFrostover 8 years ago

Lols at the name, never used Bavarian cream at the high however. How well does it blend with the shisha and strawberry? I've never used IWN straw shisha, but if it blends with the tobacco and cream then I'm all for ordering it.

1 points

by Dworrakkover 8 years ago

It blends rather well actually, I was on the fence about it at first, but after a short steep it goes rather well. The inw strawberry Shisha is amazing with the western. I don't care for it any many other recipes. But it does pair nice with tobacco and creams

1 points

by Dalphoover 8 years ago

Just mixed this up and it's pretty good as a sv, what do you recommend for the steep time?

2 points

by Dworrakkover 8 years ago

I typically let it steep for 3 days to a week, it mellows everything down. My personal mix is max vg, and it will sit at max 3 days before I can't help myself and vape it.

I've been doing some 3 flavor mixes lately.

Roaring 20's

4% INW Fortuna Strike

2% INW Dark for Pipe

1.5% TFA Graham Cracker Clear

Pretty nice Pipe tobacco with some darker fruit nuances. Definitely not something I'd describe as fruity though. More like prune/raisin/fig type of deal.

Before the Match

1.5% FA 7 Leaves Ultimate

2% INW Garuda TA

.75% INW DNB

Got a nice tobacco leaf taste to it. Little bit of ash in there, but not enough to make it taste like burning tobacco.

Brigade 2506

2.5% INW Black for Pipe

2% INW Cuban Cigar TA

1% INW DNB

Smoky as hell and pretty dry.

Also been working on a Cavendish type of thing with some honey and bourbon. Trying to get the tobacco part to pop just right. I think I'm there, but I still need to let it sit for another week or so.

.25% TFA Coconut Extra

.5% INW DNB

1% INW Gold for Pipe

1% TFA Kentucky Bourbon

3% FLV Red Burley

2.5% INW Tobacco Cavendish

So far it's been an odd steep. Shake and vape was heavy on the Gold for Pipe. Next day was heavy on the bourbon. Next day was back to the Gold. Last taste was getting where I want it though.

RY4 Gold:

INW Gold Ducat 1.5%

TFA RY4 Double 3%

FA Fresh Cream 1.5%

TFA Bavarian Cream 0.5%

This one is still kind of a work in progress, but it's almost there, for me. Gold Ducat reminds me of just a straight up honey tobacco, and with RY4 double, it gives the honey notes from GD a toasted brown sugar quality. The fresh cream just adds a nice, neutral creaminess without imparting any flavor, while the Bavarian Cream adds a light vanilla note on the exhale. This is what I've been enjoying, lately.

IW Cuba cigar at 10% is my "go to" adv mix. Simple and smooth :)

1 points

by ece_guyover 8 years ago

Do you mean the Tobacco Absolute Cuban Cigar (Wera Garden line)? I recently got it but I thought it was meant to be used as an additive at around 0.5-1%.

2 points

by kotsosssover 8 years ago

It's a different one, the TINO D'MILANO Cuba Cigar is lovely as a standalone

1 points

by aelweroover 8 years ago

Yep. I didn't intend to use it that way, but when I was "bracketing" (mixing it alone at 6, 8, 10, etc % to "dial in" it's best %) it, it just grew on me as a standalone :)

Tobacco Nut

RY4 Double (TPA) 4.5%

Canadian (INW) 3.5%

Hazelnut (FW) 2%

Caramel Candy (FW) 1%

This is not the most friendly coil ejuices but there is a lot worse out there, that's for sure.

If you like sweet and nutty tobacco's this may be right up your ally. The aroma from this ejuice will make you crave for a vape, it seriously smells divine! It's tastes just how you would think it tastes: caramel hazelnut tobacco. I quite like it a lot, even fresh, but it will be tad harsh without a steep.

For a long time I steered clear of tobacco vapes but I am slowly moving towards them. Because I am an introductory tobacco mixer, I tend to like them sweeter/nutter and less dry.

by BlazeDemBeatzover 8 years agoMentholatier

My go to tobacco flavoring is TFA Red Type. I've tried a few tobacco flavorings but that was def my fave out of the lot. I love RY4 also but I almost don't even consider that a tobacco because of the heavy caramel and vanilla mixture.

When I smoked cigs I was a Newport smoker. So the recipe I use is quite simple but sometimes I feel as if I'm smoking a cig when I vape this. It's only 2 flavors but a recipe doesn't have to be complex to be good imo.

Kentucky Nut

TFA Acetyl Pyrazrne .25%

FLV Kentucky Blend 3%

TFA Peanut Butter 1%

INW Tobacco Nutty Princess 1%

Just a peanut style tobacco vape still has that ashy bit to it from the Kentucky blend. I'm still working on it but I'm still happy with where it's at. I mix it around 70/30 and 60/40.

2 points

by ChemicalBurnVictimover 8 years agoresident tobacco specialist

I may have to try this. I've had Nutty Princess for a while but haven't really found a use for it.

It's not to bad, I think the next time I mix it I'm going to up the nutty princess % to 1.5 or 2

Been trying to work an ry- type tobacco using
TFA- vanilla bourbon
FA - rum
TFA- mild black
TFA - black honey
TFA- Brown sugar
It's not quite there yet needs another type of tobacco like a light hay type taste and possibly something along the lines of Coconut, any suggestions?

1 points

by Baphometover 8 years agoOne of "The Damned"

Hangsen Highway is more grassy/hay than Soho-like IMO, but you might have to bump the % to taste much from it in your mix as it's a pretty weak flavor; 1-1.5% might bring the grass/hay. CAP Coconut might fit the bill better for what you're looking for -- at low percentages covers both the coconut flesh and has a hint of coconut fiber...

Been shying away from the dessert tobacco end , I just got some INA flavors in I'd never played with - nothing substantial yet but I was checking my bulk storage for watermelon for my wife and realized I have like a dozen 120ml bottles of TFA tobaccos so hopefully next week I can get cracking on some straight tobacco stuff , I have a half dozen ADV recipes I always rotate and it needs new blood

I was also inspired by a thread here maybe a week or so ago on black honey tobacco? used to mess with that and soho and 7 leaves and s'camel a lot - that was two moves ago though so I lost all my notes and the first "wing it" recipe was a pure abortion

Edit :

Ok, some recipes

**My second alteration of a tribeca "halo" recipe I found online - room for improvement but works great as is, 3 days minimum on the steep

8% TFA Double Ry4

3% FA Caramel

2% FA Marshmallow

1.5% EM

1% AP

0.75% FLV Kentucky Blend

**"777" - an old working recipe incorporating the black honey as noted above

5% INA S'camel

3% TFA black honey (tobacco)

3% FW coumarin pipe

2.5% (tobacco express) french pipe

2% FA 7 leaves

1.5% fa soho

0.75% FA Tuscan Reserve

0.5% TFA DK Tobacco

***"222" The last good iteration on a long string of uncle junk jon wayne clone attempts - the ry4 double is sort of just a placeholder , I found that with uncle junks the actual tobacco is tertiary and the important thing is the savory / creaminess and the anise at a proper level , you could slap on a ton of stuff and make it good

4% RY4 Double

3.5% TFA Dairy Milk

3% FA Caramel

2% TFA Sweet Cream

2% TFA molasses

0.5% CAP Marshmallow

0.5% FA Marshmallow

1% smooth

0.25% TFA Honey

0.25% TFA coconut

0.125% FA Madagascar vanilla

1 drop per 10 ml anise (fa)

hence, my burnout with desserts

FLV Red Burley @ 5%..... NOTHING I've added to this can make it any better so far. I'm calling this flavour "King of Tobaccos" until i find something better.

FLV Cured Tobacco and Kentucky Blend are also pretty good.

My friend asked me to try and clone Space Jam "Eclipse", so I searched on here and found an old thread with useful info.https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/2pikq4/recipe_request_space_jam_eclipse/cmxsuoo/ When I first tried the original it just tasted farking weird to me, but i kept vaping it and now really like it

Space Jam "ECLIPSE" Clone.

TFA Almond Amaretto - 1%

TFA Hazelnut - 0.8% (could go a little higher)

FA MTS Vape Wizard - 0.2% (the thread I found called for TFA Smooth, but I only have FA MTS, so used that)

TFA Vanilla Swirl - 2%

TFA Western - 8% (I know that's farking high, but it gives it that signature flavour that Eclipse has)

This is a pretty close clone, and my mate now vapes this instead of original, because $$$.

Where would I post this recipe? (clone request thread or monthly recipe thread?)

I've noticed that a lot of the FLV tobaccos are pretty similar to me. Kentucky, Native, Turkish, and Commercial Cigarette mostly. I haven't mixed Cured yet, but it smells about the same. The stand outs have been Red Burley and Arabian. Kind of for different reasons. Red Burley is by far my favorite so far. Maybe not my king of tobaccos, but the king of FLV tobaccos for sure. Arabian stands out because it's so odd. Super strong and funky, and I'm really interested in getting it to taste good in a mix. At .5% it is still pretty dominating, but I'm not giving up on it just yet. All those others I'm not sure what I'll do with.

by dark_hawkover 8 years ago

I'm new to mixing tobaccos.

I'm getting to know my flavors before mixing them, so I have the following flavors mixed at 60VG/40PG and steeping: FA Glory, FA Desert Ship + FA MTS, FA Maxx Blend + FA Black fire , FA SOHO, FA 7 Leaves, FA Burley, INW AM4a.

How long does these tobaccos have to steep?

2 points

by templepilotover 8 years ago

FA's don't require too long in general, a week is good.. INW about the same. I often use FA Soho and INW Vanilla Pipe Tobacco after just a couple days.
