SC Blended Tobacco
submitted over 8 years ago by T_Maceresident tobacco specialist

Specs:

  • percentage used: 3%
  • 1 month and a week steep
  • PG/VG ratio: 50/50
  • vaped on NarDA rda, SS316L, 26 gauge, spaced coil, 0.62 ohm, 15-25 watts

Type of Tobacco

  • Aromatic: This is a light aromatic blend. Not overpowering or sickly sweet.

Flavor Properties:

  • mellow pipe style tobacco
  • lightly sweet

Relatable Flavors:

  • sort of a floral vanilla in the front (just on the first few puffs, not that noticeable after the coil warms up)
  • chocolate undertones which form the base for this flavor
  • reminds me of SC Black Mile, I'd have to try them side by side to notice the differences
  • has that cigar wrapper feel (think Captain Black)
  • no distinct tobacco flavor at all

Mouth Feel:

  • medium density

Off Flavors:

  • none

Position In A Recipe:

  • background

Suggested Percentage:

  • 1-3%

Pairings:

  • SC Cohiba
  • any hearty tobacco
  • chocolate
  • nuts
  • vanilla
  • creams, custards
  • orange citrus (wildcard)

Conclusion:

  • This is something I'd use in the background of a cigar blend.
  • Feels really similar to SC Black Mile so use it the same way.
  • As mentioned, there's zero tobacco leaf taste but it does make sense as a support tobacco.
  • I'm not wildly impressed by this flavor, but also not incredibly disappointed. It could find it's purpose some day.

Second Opinion with Chem Burns

Been a long time since I've used this one, but I reviewed it a long time ago over at /r/cloudcollective so I'll just copy it here to get it all in the same place.

Should be noted that I wrote this before I really started diving deep in to the tobacco rabbit hole, so I didn't know how much more realistic tobacco flavors were out there.

When I first tasted this flavor on its own, it tasted exactly like a "Turkish" juice at my local B&M. Since they had like 60 flavors, I'm assuming they were all single flavor, and this was most likely what they used for it. I wouldn't exactly say it tastes like chocolate, but it is smooth like chocolate, if that makes sense. I never really used it on its own as an ADV, but it has been the main tobacco note in pretty much all of my ADVs. The thing I really like about the Super Concentrates is that they are really strong. 3 or 4% of this mixed with 5 or 6 other flavors, and it will still stand at the front of the mix. Really good flavor for ry4 type mixes. Plays really well with vanilla and nuts. Every time I'm mixing something new, I'm tempted to grab the trusty Blended Tobacco.

I just added nuts to the list of pairings, good call. AP would be nice in a choco bacco.

Second Opinion is becoming a theme now, I like it :)

What do you mean when you say "really good flavor for ry4 type mixes"? I know Halo's Tribeca is a tobacco juice that they describe as their version of ry4. Is ry4/ry4 double a 'tobacco flavor' or just a flavor added with other 'tobacco flavors'.

What I meant was that it is a flavor that mixes well with vanilla and caramel flavors. As far as the TFA RY4/RY4 Double, I don't consider them tobacco flavors. I think the caramel part of the flavor gives kind of a burnt sugar taste that some people consider "tobacco," but to people that are really in to tobaccos, it's not really tobacco. To me, a tobacco flavor should have an ashy or leaf kind of flavor to be a tobacco.

Cool thanks for the explanation. So does RY4/RY4 Double taste like carmel/burnt sugar or do you mix RY4 with a carmel flavor? When someone says a flavor like FA Soho or INW S'Camel would be good in an RY4 mix, do they mean you mix FA Soho and RY4 together? Or do you mix FA Soho with another tobacco like Virginia and then combined they are an 'RY4 mix'?
