Type of Tobacco

  • Non-Aromatic:

Flavor Properties:

  • cigar style tobacco with an authentic feel
  • dry
  • layered overall profile

Relatable Flavors:

  • leathery tobacco note upfront
  • cigar leaf notes
  • hint of plum on the exhale (like how tobacco smells, almost sweet but just a touch)
  • very soft, almost muted chocolate note comes out as the vapor extends (reminds me of a cigar wrapper)

  • I like to stick this up front.

Suggested Percentage:

  • 3ish %

  • chocolate
  • dark tobaccos
  • alcohol flavors like cognac, whiskey, rum
  • touch of cream if you want to smooth it out a bit

Conclusion:

  • This is a staple in my collection.
  • Shares some similarities with TPA Western. That leather note is common between the two.
  • If you're looking to build a cigar or a hearty cig flavor like Marlboro Red, pick this flavor up and enjoy.

Cohiba + a little bavarian cream??? What cream would you recommend? This sounds delicious.

The way I would use cream with this flavor would be just for a bit more mouth feel and to make it a touch less dry. Bav Cream would work. I like FLV Vanilla Custard in there. Even TPA Marshmallow would probably work. 0.5% if you want to keep it nice n tobacco-y. 1-2% for more dessert style.

Just got this one in the mail. Smell test is just like TFA and INW Western to me (you ever try INW Western by the way?) I think I'm going to test this at 1%.

Ya smelling them side by side they're damn near identical. Hmm, maybe I should do a blind taste test.

INW Western I haven't tried. Worth a pick up or is it more of the same?

If you think Cohiba and TFA Western are close to the same, then INW Western is probably close enough to not really be worth it. Maybe just a little stronger than the TFA.

Good to know, maybe I'll grab INW version once I use us my TPA. It's a staple for me so I tend to go through it fairly quickly.

Finally got around to mixing up some single flavors from my last order, and after a good shaking the Cohiba seems to smell more like Acetyl Pyrazine than the Western flavors. Shake and vape at 1% didn't give me any of the cough medicine/sore throat spray taste, so I decided to jump the gun and mix something up with it. I got a little ballsy and used some FA Latakia with it, which seems pretty strong right now. Hoping it calms down a bit and let's the INW Captain Jack for Pipe and Cohiba shine.

Captain Jack and Cohiba should pair nicely. I haven't messed with Latakia much but it's in the review cue. Tester will be ripe in 7 or so days. I actually mix Western and Cohiba often. Glad to hear Cohib is medicine free tho ha.

I'm in mixing purgatory right now, my last three mixes have been unsatisfactory. I'm trying to get a straight up leaf mix with no luck. Paired Black For Pipe with FLV Virginia and shit is weird every time. The Black For P just overshadows Virginia even at 1% Black, 3% Virginia. And it's too sweet somehow. Of course, all this would be easy if I could taste INW Cuban Cigar or INW Garuda properly. Today might be a perfect day to mix up some of your recipes :) Ya, think I'ma do that.

Was going to post a review, but then I actually bothered to search. Unsurprisingly your notes are spot on.

I actually just tried SC Seven and it seems to have the same kind of leathery western note that i've been inelegantly calling cigarette paper. Feels a little richer here, so the cigar wrapper thing is pretty apt.

I was having a hard time placing the fruitiness here until I read the plum thing and it clicked.

This has a bit of drier mouthfeel that I'm not really into for extended periods of time, but it seems to pull it off pretty well.

Chocolate note is a bit less pronounced than the Seven, this feels almost nuttier to me.

I had some issue with flavor dulling out instead of just smoothing after a week, but that seems like at least some of my own damage.

Hey man! Just catching up on all my reddit mail. Last month was a doozy! You going down the tobacco rabbit hole these days? It's a fun one. I need to get back to my florals adventure soon so I'm sure your reviews will be read and read again as I go. Cheers!
