FW Cucumber Mint
submitted over 8 years ago by mlNikon

Setup: Narda Clone, Single coil 26g Kanthal @.7 ohms. 25W Power, Half wicked with Native Wicks Platinum Blend

Testing: FW Cucumber Mint @ 4%. 70/30 VG/PG, steeped 8 days.

Flavor Description: Super fresh, strong cucumber with a nice mellow natural mint finish. I think the mint could be stronger but it is a very nice refreshing flavor. You get the flesh and the skin of the cucumber at this percentage and a nice leafy spearmint.

Off-flavors: Very clean flavor with nothing out of the ordinary

Throat Hit: Very light throat hit but nothing like you would think of with mint

Uses & Pairings: This would be good to freshen up a fruit mix or add a twist to cocktail recipes. I am definitely thinking of mojitos. This flavor would add a unique twist to a lot of lighter mixes. I would not use this in heavy fruits or creams or bakeries. It is very light and refreshing you want to keep it light.

Notes: I have only vaped it at 4% but it is a very full albeit light flavor. That may sound confusing but I don't know how else to describe it. The cucumber has come out quite a bit in the steep so expect it to be more mint heavy right away.

Second Opinions:

There is no mention of this flavor except a couple percentages on elr but no notes.

The sound of a fresh true tasting cucumber with mint sounds appealing to me. If we boosted the mint a little, anything need to fill the cucumber profile or you think it's a solid one off?

I'm sure some kind of floral would be a nice touch with it

The cucumber is definitely potent. After steeping it get's even stronger, more in the direction of dill. Mint is way in the back. Maybe 2% fw spearmint is a good addition if you dig them mints

If that's what you're after I'do use CAP Cucumber with your favorite INW Mint. I like FW Cuke Mint but not as much as that other combo.

I think it is a very solid cucumber on its own.

I've been puffing on this mix for a couple of days now.

FW Cucumber Mint 4% FLV Cantaloupe 1% TFA Honeydew .25% FA Fuji .25% TFA Cucumber 1% INW Cactus .5%

Anything more than 4% Cucumber Mint gets weird to me. Anything less gets lost. Not sure if TFA Cucumber is doing anything other than adding to the rindy vibe I usually get from Honeydew if it's even doing that.

I like the mix.

After a few days it seems I reinvented wrigley's spearmint gum. Yummy, but not the cucumber melon I was aiming for.

Flavor west spearmint.

The only other spearmint I have had was tfa and it wasn't even close. I think inw natural mint is closest to that mint note.

I tried it at 8% and it was unvapable. Have a mix going on with 2% cuke mint, .8% fa lime tahity cold pressed, 1% almond amaretto tfa, 2% golden pineapple cap, 1% raspberry sweet tfa and coolada to your liking.

It's not perfect but it is definitely different from everything I had before.

Happy to see someone else using this flavor :)

I do not have almond amaretto unfortunately but I may try my own mix similar to this at some point.

This is a recipe I mix for a friend which is light and refreshing:

Mojave Mojito
FW Cucumber Mint 0.5%
INW Cactus Lime 1.5%
70/30
3mg

Simple, light, refreshing.

If I have INW Lime and INW Cactus, what do you think would be a good ratio to mix at to achieve INW Cactus Lime? I've never tried it before, so I don't know if it's just a mixture of the two flavors, or something different entirely.

I would try each at .25% I start and increase slowly from there
