Setup: Magma Clone, Ni200, cotton, 265Celsius
Testing: Cap Grapefruit 7%, steeped 8 days
Description:
- Smell: Sweet citrus top notes, slight tartness, fruity accents.
- Taste: Inhale is a bit sweet apart from that i get nothing. Exhale has the citrus notes i also got from the smell, it has a rindy and zesty flavor in it but it is subtle and not over the top, still making it a grapefruit jam/candy flavor. Slight lingering jam flavor. Mouthfeel is surprisingly creamy and slightly dry/chalky.
Off-flavors: A bit chalky, maybe 7% is too high.
Throat hit: None
Uses and pairings: Would work good in a cereal type vape and lemonades paired with fruit, eggy-custards not that much. So creamy-grainy stuff.
i prefer IW White Grapefuit, at like... 3-4% iirc
I use it at 1% and its one of my favorite single flavors I've tried yet. Is 3-4% harsh for you?

That's my take-away from CAP Grapefruit as well. Not sure if i got an extremely weak batch or what, but i get little to nothing from this flavoring.
My go-to for grapefruit is INW Grapefruit and INW White Grapefruit.
Have heard positive things about FW Ruby Red Grapefruit as well, but I've yet to acquire it.
I have also been trying to find FW Ruby Red Grapefruit but not had any luck from my usual stockists yet. I Want it to try out a recipe from another (my favorite) flavor reviewer /u/ConcreteRiver/ 's Terrorhawk - that bad boy has Pink Guava, White Grapefruit, Ruby Red Grapefruit and Cactus so sounds right up my street!
It's looking like Flavorwest dropped the normal version of ruby red grapefruit and now they are just making the natural. I've got to pick that up and see if it's comparable to the normal version, otherwise that recipe is going to have to get a bit altered. I should probably do that sooner rather than later.
