Watermelon Jolly Rancher Recipe
submitted over 8 years ago by JQWebco

Hey guys, finally got the watermelon jolly rancher down! I'll be releasing the Blue Raspberry recipe in a few days.

1% Juicy Peach (CAP)

3.5% Double Watermelon (CAP)

2% Ripe Strawberry (TFA)

2% Watermelon Candy (TFA)

OPTIONAL

.5% Sweet & Tart (TFA)

.5% Marshmallow (FA)

The combination of Juicy Peach & Double Watermelon by Capella come together to blend a nice flavor similar to sweet hard candies without the use of sweeteners and other coil gunkers. I use this is a base in my Jolly Rancher flavors I've been working on lately. In other jolly rancher / non watermelon recipes I'd tone the double watermelon down to 2.5%.

Watermelon Candy mixed with double watermelon in this recipe create the perfect combination of fruit & candy mix for this flavor.

Ripe Strawberry mixed with both watermelons gives it a nice juicy taste.

As for the optional flavorings included..

Use sweet & tart if you don't mind coil gunk, though it's used sparingly in this recipe so it won't affect it too negatively. I personally prefer not to use this but it helps if you don't mind the sweetener and want more of an in your face candy type flavor.

I personally don't use marshmallow in the recipe I use for my own taste buds preference, but if you want a little additional mouth feel you can add it, it doesn't mute the flavors noticeably at this small of a percentage.

Hope you all enjoy! I'll have blue raspberry out soon, let me know if there's any other jolly rancher flavors you're looking for in particular and I'll see what I can do!

I'm so excited to try this. Have to order the missing flavors though.

Jolly Rancher is not available in my country and i'm so addicted to the taste of the watermelon taste of them. I've tried many recipes, but nothing has been hitting the spot.

Thank you so much for sharing!

>I've tried many recipes, but nothing has been hitting the spot.

I think that's about to change (;

Haha, I've been in the same boat my friend. I've been trying to make some type of jolly rancher recipe for over a year before I had the idea on these recent recipes to have them based solely on fruit flavorings. Enjoy!

I made a pineapple jolly rancher the other day that turned out pretty nice.

  • 1% INW Cactus
  • .25% TFA Sour
  • 4% CAP Golden Pineapple
  • 3% INW Pineapple
  • 2% FW Hard Candy

Dude I'm literally so upset lol. I saw your post the other day and I was waiting for this flavor to drop. I ran out of juice so I had to make a quick mix less than 5 minutes ago using up the last of my strawberry.

Ahh bad timing! Haha, on the bright side you could still mix this w/o the strawberry and it'll still be good - just not as juicy! The watermelons mixed together creates a fairly "juicy" taste on it's own so it won't be a "dry" flavor w/o the strawberry by any means, that just helps really round it out to the final stage!

You can give it a try but I'd definitely recommend CAP for the most authentic taste. CAP's juicy peach in this small amount really helps with the background candy notes more than any other peach I used for this recipe.

Definitely still add it, TFA's peach will work just not as well as CAP's. The recipe calls for the unique combination of watermelon & peach to create a candy taste

Thanks for sharing! This recipe sounds great, and I have been waiting in your Blue Raspberry so I can order all my missing flavors at the same time. When will you be posting that recipe?

Also, I would have to assume a grape version of this flavor would work very well, have you tried making a grape one, or would you have any ideas what would go well with this? Thanks

This might be one of the first flavors I make and I'm pretty excited. (Supplies should be here in 3 days) . Do I need to let a flavor like this steep or is that only for the creamier flavors?

This flavor is a good Shake & Vape but its taste certainly improves over time. I found after 5-7 days it's great without needing to steep any longer.

I'm surprised you didn't use lorann's watermelon as I've read so many doing. This is why it's nice to have mixers who didn't ont learn from Reddit, as I feel every forum has their own way of doing things. Don't think I've ever seen watermelon candy being used before, double watermelon almost as little. Thanks eh

LA watermelon is a little over rated imo, I use it occasionally in mixes of fruits where I want a faint watermelon taste, but in most cases I've found mixing different brands of watermelons creates the best taste

I was thinking the same thing about LA watermelon

Saving this and your green apple to make this weekend! I was just looking up jolly rancher recipes last night. I have to order some flavors, but if I get on it now, I should have them in time for the weekend
