Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of March 03, 2017
submitted over 8 years ago by AutoModerator

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! If you are impatient and want to do this on your own, here are a couple of good links:

  • /u/daath has a nice website that has this functionality, but you will need to register to make it work. It is not very intuitive but if you work with it you can input your flavors and get a list of recipes that you can make. IMO this is the better site if you have the patience to make it work for you. Edit2: to get this to work, first set up an account. Then add your flavors to the stash (under my page / my flavor stash). hit save. Then go back to the front page and click the link next to the search field, "Search by flavor stash". You can select a couple of your flavors and recipes that have those will pop up.
  • This site has a nice big search button with just what you're looking for.

Happy Mixing!

This is a pretty cool idea. I have been browsing recipies and have some ideas, but more input from this community would be great! I'm new to DiY and havent mixed a single thing yet. Just got my nicotine yesterday, which was the last item I needed to begin. Tested it to make sure it was legit, but waiting til have some free time this weekend to jump in. These are the flavors I have to start with. As you can probably figure out, I like fruit juices. Want to try some light cream/vanilla notes too, but nothing overwhelming. Also, ordered the candy and sweet flavoring to sweeten up recipies without adding dedicated sweeteners, but am open to buying some of those as well if I find it is particularly useful somewhere. Thanks for any input!

Try this:

TFA strawberry ripe 3%

TFA dragonfruit 2%

CAP sweet strawberry 1½%

FA Fuji 1%

INW cactus ½%

I've had success with fruit mixes similar to this in the past.

I can for sure see myself playing around with this recipe. Strawberry is not one of my favorite fruits(I don't dislike it at all, just not in love with it), but I've read that it's really good for adding some sweetness and pulling together flavors. Thinking of maybe swapping % of strawberry ripe and dragonfruit, but I have no experience with mixing yet so who knows. Along with dragonfruit, I'm really looking forward to using fuji and cactus in some mixes so this recipe will surely get a try. Thanks a lot!

I have a recipe that people seemed to really like. Your missing the lime in it but I'm sure its good with out and with supplement.

Bavarian cream 4%

Cactus 1.25%

Fuji 2.5%

Lime cold pressed [either don't use or play with other flavors] 1%

by Sohdaover 8 years ago

That sounds really good. I have no idea what to think of cactus, but see lots of people enjoy it and am excited to try it. Lime is definitely something I can see being added to my stash of flavors too. Thanks, I'm gonna try this one for sure.

Your welcome. Cactus is a unique flavor. Yet its close to pear in a way. But you won't thibk that on first taste

Try

  • FA Peach 2%
  • TPA Cheesecake 4%
  • INW Shisha Strawberry 0.5%
  • TPA Vanilla Swirl 3%

I love peach and the shisha strawberry sounds pretty good too. I'll give this a shot, thanks.

TFA Bavarian Cream is good 2-4%

Start with that as a cream. For lightness do 1.5-2.5%

Or for very lightness TFA Vanilla Swirl at 2-4%

TFA Dragonfruit sweetens things up and pulls things together at around 1-2%

TFA Cheesecake (Graham Crust) is the crust of a cheesecake, so it drys things up around (3-4%)

CAP Sweet Strawberry should be a nice 2-3%

Go ahead put that together with your own set of percentages.

Cactus makes things juicy with a tad bit of bite, do 0.50-1.50%.

For more bite do 1.50-2.50%

Then do thin fruits with it, like Dragonfruit (1-4%)

TFA Strawberry Ripe is very bitey, (1-4%)

Not sure on the other fruits, look around for recommended percents for each flavor, each one is very different, one might be range of 0.25-1.75%, some might be 2-8%. Depends on the ingredients used inside the concentrate.

I am very intrigued by the cactus flavor. Have no idea what to expect, but I look forward to trying it. Also can't wait to try some dragonfruit mixes. Thanks for the suggestions.

Try Mother of God's Milk, it fits for the "light cream/vanilla notes too, but nothing overwhelming" you're interested in.

by Sohdaover 8 years ago

That looks amazing and exactly the kind of thing I am looking for, and why I got into DiY. I am definitely the most excited to use Dragon Fruit out of all the flavors. I see that is your recipe too, right on! Gonna try this one for sure, thanks.

I hope you like it. Be sure to let it steep for a week. Your Vanilla Swirl will repay your patience.

Anyone have any good fruit recipes for these flavors? Have already made crack juice and mother of gods milk, before anyone suggests those

Definitely have a lot of interest with making something with the flavors towards the bottom. Got a few new/strange FLV flavors recently

guanabana can be used at like 1-1.5% just to lift to "tropicalness" of your mix. if you wanted it as a main flavor id use it and 2-3% and throw some creams at it. Dont have a recipe off hand with your list of flavors. BUT id suggest guanabana with flv vanilla custard and some vienna. Or even a guanabana sugar cookie would work. Because sug cookie is G.O.A.T

by ID10-Tover 8 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

I love /u/deejaymillsnyc 's Batido de Guanabana. I know you don't have everything you'd need to make it, but when someone says guanabana I think deejay; maybe by paging him we can get him in here to suggest something for you using guanabana and the flavors you do have.

> ? Have already made crack juice and mother of gods milk, before anyone suggests those

What about Fizzmustard's Famous Nana Cream Clone: 5% LA Banana Cream, 7% TFA Strawberry, 3% TFA Dragonfruit?

Still very new to this DIY stuff, went out and just got handful of flavors. So any tips would be nice.

  1. Cheesecake (Graham Crust) [TFA]
  2. Dr. Pop [TFA]
  3. Dragon Fruit [TFA]
  4. DX Bavarian Cream [TFA]
  5. DX Hazelnut [TFA]
  6. Mango [TFA]
  7. Strawberry (Ripe) [TFA]
  8. Strawberry [TFA]
  9. Sweet Lychee [CAP]
  10. White Chocolate [TFA]

Have you tried the white chocolate yet? Im not real big on candy or dark/milk chocolate, but damn do I have a love for white chocolate. Could see myself vaping that if the flavor was right.

by Python9066over 8 years ago

Liking the white chocolate alot. Thinking about putting a little hazelnut in with it

1 points

by Sohdaover 8 years ago

Right on, glad to hear you are enjoying it. Think I'm gonna grab a small bottle to try out when I place my next flavor order.

1 points

by ID10-Tover 8 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

Some people taste pepper with TFA White Chocolate even more intensely than they do with VBIC and some people who don't taste pepper with VBIC do taste it White Chocolate. Personally, I enjoy the stuff, but if you taste pepper with TFA VBIC do not buy it. Also, it's a little dry and needs help from another cream: CAP Vanilla Whipped Cream is excellent for this.

2 points

by Sohdaover 8 years ago

I will be sure to keep that in mind. Thanks for all the info. Think ill toss an 8ml bottle in my next flavor order to try out.

1 points

by ID10-Tover 8 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

Try 6% TFA Strawberry Ripe, 3% Strawberry, and 1% Dragonfruit.

Also: 4% TFA Strawberry, 2% CAP Sweet Lychee.

Another thing you can do is make single-flavor testers and try all of these flavors individually, that will help you decide for yourself which ones you might want to mix together and which %ages you want to use them in. There's an excellent article about that here.

Thanks for the ideas. Will add them to my "to make" list :D

I haven't used TFA Dragon Fruit, but if it's similar taste wise to Capella try out..

1% Mango TFA

1.5% Ripe Strawberry

4% Dragon Fruit

0.5% Sweet Lychee

1% White Chocolate

I have a recipe similar to this just with some different brands, tastes great!

What did you make already? That would help with both not suggesting the same things over again and with getting an idea of what interests you so it'll be easier to suggest things that you're more likely to enjoy.

I was going to suggest that guava-lime candy one to you if you hadn't made it already. I bet you'll love it.

Let's get you a really rich, decadent vanilla custard steeping to enjoy after you've tried all of that fruity stuff: Try 6% CAP Vanilla Custard, 3% TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, 2% FA Cream Fresh, 1% CAP Graham Cracker, and 0.5% TFA Brown Sugar.

I'm looking for a simple recipe where the main flavor is INW kaktus. I found a few recipes where it was the main flavor but I needed flavors I did not have. And since it's for a friend I'm not immediately willing to buy all those extra flavors I might not be interested in myself.

You have all the ingredients to make [Phucker Cookies] (https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/28251#phucker_cookies_by_philosaphucker).

You could also make [Peruvian Cactus Apple] (https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/28827#peruvian_cactus_apple_by_rupert) if you sub TPA Dragonfruit for the INW Dragonfruit.

You have everything to make [Grapple] (https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/27173#grapple_wmc_round_1_by_tootall).

You could also make [Strapplecactus] (https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/27053#strapplactus_by_boogenshizzle_by_boogenshizzle) if you sub the INW Shisha Strawberry. I'd use CAP Sweet Strawberry or TPA Strawberry Ripe.

That's a good start....

1 points

by Ephelusover 8 years agoFrugivore

I haven't messed with INW Dragonfruit much, but TPA Dragonfruit isn't really a dragonfruit. It's more of a... Blender. It's fruity and a little sweet, but its main purpose in a recipe is to meld everything together. So subbing it in for INW wouldn't work.

Also, a straight sub from INW Shisha Strawb doesn't really work. INW is a jammy, delicious (kind of... Seedy?) strawberry. CAP Sweet Strawb might work (maybe, idk how much Strapple Cactus relies on the jamminess of INW), but TPA Strawb Ripe wouldn't. It's too earthy and honestly not enough like an actual strawberry.

2 points

by kindgroundover 8 years agoDiketones, Schmiketones

Thanks for your input. I think CAP Sweet Strawberry would sub just fine. How about a recipe for this users flavors? You seem pretty informed.

This is the first time I'd seen the Grapple and Strapplecactus recipes. Thanks for posting them--I'm puffing the latter right now and it's great. Haven't gotten to try the Grapple yet, but I'll edit when I have.

*TPA Strawberry

*TPA Honeysuckle

*FA Fuji

*FA Lime Tahiti cold pressed

I forgot to order the pear for Placid clone. So I'm hoping Fuji will work with these other three. I don't care if it's if it's like Placid if it tastes good. Thanks.

1 points

by ID10-Tover 8 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

Yes, those are some flavors that that should work well together, although that lime can be temperamental. Most of the Placid-y things I've seen use TFA Key Lime or a combination of limes. Did you already have recipe you were planning to use?

2 points

by PoorPappyover 8 years ago

I was just going with the old one by Fizzmustard with Lime Tahiti cold pressed at 1% and 4% each of TPA's Strawberry, Honeysuckle and Pear. My thinking is Fuji at 1-2% could substitute for the pear I don't have. Your confirmation that these should play together well is helpful, thank you.

1 points

by ID10-Tover 8 years agoWinner of the 2nd DIYorDIE World Mixing Championship

Yes, I think you're right. 2% should be a tasty sub for Pear with 4% Strawberry. Might want to dial the Honeysuckle down a hair unless you've had 4% Honeysuckle before and know you like it that high. But I really just wanted to make sure you weren't ruining this with too much Cold-Pressed Lime. 1% Lime should be terrific.

Did ya use up all of your Dragonfruit, Strawberry Ripe, TFA Bav Cream on Mother of Dragons' Milk?

I feel like going kiwi crazy with this list.

Try this Kiwi Milk: 2.5% FW Kiwi, 2% Vanilla Swirl, 1% FW Bav Cream.

Kiwi Cactus Lime: 2.5% FW Kiwi, 1% INW Cactus Lime

Kiwapple: 3% FW Kiwi, 2% FA Fuji, 0.75% Oba Oba

I think I'm in the right place. I've tried making a Swedish fish recipe for awhile now. I'm always close but always missing one note. I have tried swedish gummy(TFA) with Swedish fish(FW). With some sweetener, strawberry and like 5 variations of total flavor %. I've looked here and ELR and cannot find anything. This is not as much of a here are my flavors as much as, if you have this recipe, I will buy anything I need.

Thank you all for any input and/or suggestions.

Koolada (TPA)
Tutti Fruitti (TPA)

Hi, I have a 2, no 3 part question

on elr, most recipes are coming out simple for what I have, but I am wondering if there are any 3-4 flavour recipes I could make with these?

what flavours should I get next month to mix with these?

did I get the popular dragongfruit, or is that a different brand?, I havnt tried it yet, but the liquid smells like my tutti frutti, hoping it vapes different

so I mixed 3% bluberry extra, 5% blueberry wild and 4% barvarian cream, so I dont need that recipie(and I guesstimated 3drips/ml, so not exact, but I like it

  1. I don't know of any.

  2. TPA Strawberry Ripe, TPA Strawberry, TPA Cheesecake Graham Crust, TPA Vanilla Swirl, TPA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, FW Blueberry, FA Bilberry, CAP Italian Lemon Sicily, TPA Coconut, CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl, CAP Vanilla Cupcake, TPA Brown Sugar.

  3. Yes, you did. Some of the best recipes use that. At a high percentage it tastes like a white gummy bear but less sweet and not gummy. It's usually used to boost other fruits and help flavors blend together.

Looking for a good marshmallow recipe. I have found some, but only have FA Marshmallow. Do I need to get more brands of Marshmallow to make a good recipe? Or can I just use all FA? I know I probably can, but I want a tasty recipe. Don't want to make it if two brands of marsh are a must.
