SC Blackberry
submitted over 8 years ago by mlNikon

Sorry for the quick and dirty review but just tasted this and saw that there is not flavor review for it. If you have additional notes PLEASE share them.

Setup: Narda Clone, Single coil 26g Kanthal @.7 ohms. 25W Power, Half wicked with Native Wicks Platinum Blend

Testing: SC Blackberry @ 5%. 70/30 VG/PG, steeped 0 days.

Flavor Description: I got this flavor because of /u/thadentman's crackberry pie recipe on atf. I have TFA's version but I am a junkie and have to collect them all. I am glad I did! This is very different from tfa's as in it is very sweet, juicy and more a candied blackberry. It reminds me a lot of their grape flavor where it is like a jolly rancher or sucker

Off-flavors: Nothing

Throat Hit: Very smooth right off the bat

Uses & Pairings: I would use this in candies and juice box type recipes. I would stick with tfa blackberry for creams and custards but this is nice for cocktails or lighter fruit mixes where you want it to be sweet.

Notes: This is really good. At 2% you get a full, lip smacking flavor. I haven't steeped this at all so I am not sure how it will change, but if it is like most fruits, it won't change much.

Second Opinions: Someone on ELR said it needed a long steep to lose the perfumy notes but I think they must have been talking about fa blackberry because there is zero perfume in this whatsoever.

I would think tfa might have done better in that recipe just because it isn't as candied.

Please excuse my ignorance, but is SC "Super Concentrates"? I see these flavors on Bull City Flavors, but I've never tried any. There are no reviews for any of these flavors on BCF so I always kind of ignored them.

Is the concentrate alcohol based? I think Canada has an SC vendor but it's hard to confirm with the vendor who the manufacturer is.

The Label does not say that it contains alcohol. I get it from diy-ejuice.com in Canada.

Is this vendor Diy-ejuice? Their sc is the same and I think they are alcohol based but not 100% sure.

I'm fine with it. The more tools in our tool shed, the better.

Hey Emily thanks for the quick review. I was already planing to get this for that Crack Berry Pie but now you've got me thinking it might be what I need for another WIP recipe where TFA Blackberry is not working alone.

Off topic, but does the place where you buy your SC flavors carry Passion Fruit, Lychee, Sweet Orange, and Guava?

Unfortunately they do not. Their SC selection is a bit limited, sorry.
