Hello,
I've been recently testing various flavoring compounds from various Chinese bio tech firms as I can source concentrates at a much more economical rate such as liters for >10$.
I've recently been delivered a sample set of 45 various flavors, began testing and I have a few questions/thoughts that maybe someone who has dealt with Chinese suppliers may know about.
The concentrates are very very potent. I like to do a minuscule dab of concentrates on the tongue to get an idea of how it hits the palette. With these, they seem very harsh with a very distinct bite. I understand they are super concentrates but what is that? Could it be suspended in a bit of alcohol or something else besides PG or is that just the raw chem compounds giving it that bite? Maybe the concentrates I've used in the past are just weaker in comparison? I know with these concentrates, shake/vape is not the way to go with these that I've found out. You definitely need to let these breathe for awhile and sit.
If anyone has any experience with direct suppliers and could answer any of these it would be greatly appreciated.
No offense but I find the way you "test" potency disturbing. Some of those chemicals could be caustic in potencies that are several magnitudes higher than in any intended application.
It's probably a long shot because China, but have you tried contacting these companies for info?
Yeah, I have open contacts but I was just curious if anyone had experience or could address any of it before I address all my concerns to a sales rep
Is there any chance that it's the same Chinese company that supplies ECX with what they call Flavors Express and/or Bull City Flavors and Vaping Zone with Super Concentrates flavors?
Really have no idea, there's hundreds of bio tech companies manufacturing concentrates out there. Have done a lot of research/compiling of contacts and find they're a dime a dozen. Easy to produce any flavor compound you want or to even manufacture your own if you have your own compound recipe lists. They each all have their own slight spin on certain key flavors but compounds are compounds when it comes down to it
Did you buy direct from Super Concentrates? A lot of their flavours are suspended in alcohol.
Yes, but some of them are delicious. What would it take to talk you into carrying four more of them so I don't have to buy them off someone who buys them off someone who gets them from China?
If you look at the average TFA concentrate, it will consist of 75-95% PG, VG or ethyl alcohol. If you're dealing with the undiluted flavor components, it will be many times stronger but perhaps not as easily miscible as TFA concentrates, you may need extended stirring, steeping and even a bit of heat to dissolve it properly.
Never understood the "palette" tongue tasting. I tried that a few times, lalallalal don't taste anything except a tingling and almost burning sensation haha :) no worries though, any links to the said products?
It depends a lot on the concentrate but you should definitely experience a flavor you should be expecting when you vape it unless it's heavily diluted with EtOH as another has mentioned. You could also try dabbing the concentrate on a paper towel/napkin, letting it breathe for a bit and apply it on the tongue for a less harsh approach.
The industry out there doesn't really use websites to sell product, it's all direct contacts. If you're interested in possibilities then you can PM me and I can forward you a few flavor lists/info. I have many samples if anyone is directly interested stateside.
Also possible/am interested to do a group buy as it's the best way to get the most bang for your buck for low/mid range flavor buyers.
