Knowing that most VG has a tiny percentage of water included within it (though it's mostly oil), should I be concerned about the loss of that water which would occur if I were to use a Crock-Pot to extract decarboxylated herb overnight?
If so, should I re-add water after extraction is complete based on volume / weight? Or is the lost water so negligible in the first place that it's not a concern?
VG is not oil, I know it doesn't seem like a big distinction but oil is extremely bad to inhale, VG is basically harmless. Please be very careful with the terminology as this is how rumors get started about vaping being worse than smoking, etc.
I agree. Its good to be technically correct. VG is water soluble, oil is not.
Actually, since we're being technical, VG is hygroscopic and hydrophilic. It will draw moisture from the atmosphere, and is miscible with water. Oil is hydrophobic, it simply will not mix with water.
Lipids (including oil), cannot be broken down by the defense mechanisms of the lungs. Lipid pneumonia can result if too much oil accumulates.
