Testing: OOO Sugar Cone @ 2%. 70/30 VG/PG, steeped 9 days.
Flavor Description: This is a freaking ice cream cone. Not one of those deluxe waffle cones you have to pay extra for, this is the cheap, thin vanilla wafer like cone. Not to say it isn't delicious. It is like part sugar cookie (though not as heavy as cap sugar cookie) and part vanilla wafer (though not as dry or buttery as inw biscuit). I don't know if it is power of suggestion but I can almost taste those little squares that are stamped into the cone.
Off-flavors: Nothing at this percentage
Throat Hit: This is very smooth and only slightly touches the throat due to dryness.
Uses & Pairings: I would use this just as intended, as an ice cream cone. It is perfect for this because it isn't so heavy that it gets in the way of the ice cream you would want to spotlight with this flavor. It adds just a slight sweetness and bakery to accent your best ice cream recipe. I can't see this being used in any other bakeries because there are other flavors that do that better.
Notes: At 2% I get a nice strong flavor with no off notes. I can see this being pushed to 3 or 4% if you want it to be more of a main note, but for me to be used as a sugar cone, I would stick to this percentage.

I wonder how well it would work as the wafer in a Kit-Kat recipe or as part of my plan to someday turn /u/loco_mojo's Wanderlust into a recipe for Goya Guava Wafers.

Yes, you may. Cream (Milky Undertones), Vanilla Frosting, Vanilla Custard Cheesecake, Powdered Sugar, Cream Bouquet, Mango Candy, Green Mango, Ripe Mango, and Sweet Mango.
It's weird that I haven't tried Milky Undertones before now, I think that's probably OOO's best known flavor. The other non-fruit flavors came highly recommended although it's worth noting that supposedly Vanilla Custard Cheesecake doesn't really taste like its name but should be yummy and useful.
I'm told OOO is very hit-and-miss and mostly miss on fruits but nobody seemed to know much about their mango flavors specifically. So I haven't got high expectations but wanted to give them a try in case there's a hidden gem.
Sounds nice, I'm sure you'll let us know if any of those mangoes are good. I'm interested in this cone flavor and the milky undertones has been somewhat widely used, im gonna place an order one of these days and that vanilla custard cheesecake sounds yummy whatever it actually is. If you're into that sort of thing (Nutty Buddy or classic Kit Kat), your description makes it sound like this would be the right tool for the wafery job. I was thinking more along the lines of the weird Japanese Kit Kats with white chocolate infused with wild flavors.
I've tried this and I have a completely different experience. It's less but it has a cardboard taste and entire lack of body to match the cardboard flavour.
Strange that you had such a good experience. Perhaps mine was a bad batch? I doubt it, but it could've been.
what percentage did you try it at. It is a thin flavor but one that still has its merits. Perhaps you used too much?
