FLV Milk Chocolate
submitted over 8 years ago by PerennialPhilosopher

Setup: Goon LP, dual SS316L fused claptons 26/34 @.13 ohms, 80w power, 420F temp limit, full cotton wicks.

Testing: FLV Milk Chocolate @ 0.5% 70/30, shake and vape.

Flavor Description: Hershey's Chocolate syrup all the way. its actually kinda ridiculous how perfect the comparison is. its not too sweet, nor is it chalky or artificial tasting. if you need a chocolate syrup flavor this is your new best friend!

Off-Flavors: None, if you want Hershey's syrup

Throat Hit: none, pretty smooth

Uses & Pairings: this is pretty good solo as a shake and vape at .5% and if you want it solo i think you could go up to 1%. this seems like a great addition to any ice cream recipe where you want a chocolate syrup drizzle. this will pair well with any dessert where you need a little chocolate syrup really... Also dark fruits and strawberries.

Edit: worth mentioning that you should probably start low (.25%) in a mix to see how it reacts with your recipe. This stuff is super concentrated!

Notes: i will update in a few days to let you know how the steeping goes. i have a good feeling about this one!

Flavorah description reads: Front end milk chocolate with a more dry cocoa finish. Mixes well with our Chocolate Deutche, mocha and coffee. This chocolate is a game changer for anyone who has been struggling with a chocolate note in their recipes.

Thanks for the review, this sounds amazing!

I gave up on chocolates mainly because coil gunk.

I've tried only a few chocolates and they all have issues:

INW milk chocolate just never rubbed me the right way from 1-4%

Double chocolate clear is my favorite so far but still has its issues, mainly because it tastes weird to me after a steep. I use from 1-3% (edit: after about 3-4 weeks, it tastes off)

FA Chocolate is like tootsie rolls but chalky sort of, can be decent but not worth it IMO. (.5-2%)

HS Australian chocolate is a nice darker chocolate flavor but it's strong, dry and also just didn't blend nicely in my limited time using it. (.25-1%)

Got tired of trying to make chocolate work but maybe I'll do it again.

This FLV milk chocolate sounds great and will be the next one I try.

I couldn't find any other reviews so I hope this will spark some interest! Seems to be working!

What did you think of it?

I've still yet to order it. Had it in the cart from bcf and decided to get some other things first. Also, I've been ordering a lot of flv from gremlin because the smaller size available but sadly they've got none of the milk chocolate. i will check it out next time I order from bull city or flavorplace.

Saw you used it in a new recipe and it looks good, who doesn't love chocolate? Do you notice gunking from it even at low %?

I don't. I don't love chocolate. The recipe I used it in is the first chocolate vape I've actually enjoyed. I've gone through about 60ml of it at 0.08% to 1.25% (most of it at that 0.08%) without gunk.

You should also throw HS Chocolate Cream onto your next order. It's fantastic!

How's it on your coils?

by Skikaabout 8 years ago

I use it in about three of my mixes. None use any sweeteners. For reference, it gunks coils about as quickly as my fruit recipes with 0.5% TFA Sweetener. So, it gunks coils, but not horribly. About as bad as juice with moderate sweetener added. If you have ever used FW Cake Yellow, Cake Yellow gunks worse.

Great review! One of my fav chocolate flavorings. I think I was going quite a bit higher than you though at like 1.5%, I will try it lower. I was getting kind of like a Hershey's chocolate bar at that % but like not Hershey's something a little creamier and less sweet.

It is a great addition to FLV Coffee

Interesting review, I wonder if they changed the recipe. I ordered it a while back as soon as it went up on their website. All I tasted from it was licorice. I mixed so many different percentages to try to get it to taste right. I just can get away from the licorice taste I was getting. I'm going to pay it another visit.

I hope they did change it and it's not one of those subjective things.

Edit: what percentage did you try it at?

Solid review, thanks. Aside from that, how do you feel about the Goon LP? Considering picking one up.

check out the CMSNT if you haven't already. I've seen a lot of people complaining about a cramped deck on the Goon LP but it'll perform fine honestly. biggest issue with the csmnt is the juice well is very shallow. however, putting the top cap on increases capacity.

I have a clone on the way from fasttech. this is apparently the best clone, 95% accurate. goon tips will not fit it despite what they claim.

I love the Goon LP, great flavor. I don't have any of the issues I'm hearing about. I did buy the authentic so maybe that has something to do with it.

I have bought an authentic Goon LP as well and if i keep the wide drip tip i feel like i get less flavours than with other RDA or with a tighter drip tip, have you changed the drip tip by chance ?

No I'm using the ultem top cap assembly with the chuff cap. I do keep my airflow about half closed though.

This sounds like it would go well with some strawberry ripe. Definitely gonna grab some of it and see for myself.

Is it a coil gunker? I'd be interested in trying this out with FLV creme de menthe to get a non coil gunking version of cuprian.

2 points

by CheebaSteebaover 8 years agoFrugivore

It's a darker flavor so it will contribute more to gunking but it's bit too bad. Pairs excellently with FLV creme de menthe!

I only vaped about 3-5 ml. At such a low percentage, considering how strong it is, I bet it's not too gunky.

Makes sense, cheers dude.

I've gone through about 60 mls of juice with it in there at 0.08 to 1.25%, no gunk.

Thanks for the review! I've seen the FLV flavorings for a while but never bothered to pick them up. For a while I was using INW's chocolate (pretty good but takes near a month to steep properly) and have been in search of a good chocolate since. I'll have to pick some up and give them a try!

So happy to read this review! I just picked some up during the bcf flavorah sale and am excited to play with it. Thanks for the write up!

Haven't tried it yet but I got it! Anyone try the vanilla pudding from flavorah yet? Smells nice!

I don't think 0.25% is low enough as a starting place for this one. Go even lower. Much lower. As seen here.

It depends on how forward you need the chocolate. You are right, but I've had success at higher %s with it as the main note.

I have at least 6 chocolates I think taste great when you first wick, then within hours taste disgusting. Even when the coil hasn't gunked up yet, I swear the bi-product of vaping it that builds up in the wick is the worst. I've given up on chocolate.

Have you tried flv milk chocolate yet?

by flavorahover 8 years ago

Maybe try FLV chocolate with a little banana. This could help recenter your palate.

FLV Milk Chocolate goes so well with banana!

Worth adding to our cookie or biscotti if you are going for chocolate chip cookie.
