Whipped up 500ml of one of my favorite recipes, let it reach it's optimal steep time then cracked into it, the juice has what I can only describe as 'flavor spots', sometimes it tastes as it should, other times it tastes like fucking nothing and/or soap, I've never encountered this issue and I'm trying to figure out what the culprit is here.
Has anyone experienced this and know what the problem might be?
It was mixed correctly and it was steeped.
There could be a number of reasons why the taste is not consistent.
- Shake it vigorously
- 500 ml takes longer to steep
- Intermittent vapors tongue (sometimes some of my adv's tastes different after each drag)
- There was a screw up when mixing
- Flavoring gone bad
Brush your teeth and tongue, rewick your rda/rta, shake the bottle and try the juice again.
I know it sounds stupid, but could it be vaper's tongue? This started happening with my ADV recently. I switched to a menthol juice for a few days, came back and bam... every tank I've had since has tasted great again.
^^This... i find i have to change flavors at least once every day or two to avoid vapers tongue. Im betting with 500 ml its an ADV
It is an ADV, I just figure if it is vapers tongue why would I be getting good and bad hits from it, my understanding and experience with vapers tongue is it just not tasting as it should at all, where as with this I'm getting 10/10 and 0/10.
Shake while steeping/before tasting?
Of course, i've shaken the crap out of it the last 2 days and I'm still getting the same problem.
Vapor's tongue comes to mind. I mix large batches and only vape 1-2 mixes at a time, so I get worn out on flavors pretty quickly. When my vapor's tongue gets really bad, each hit tastes different and usually only a few elements of my mix can be tasted at a time.
My usual solution is to add a new flavor into the mix, something that I know won't taste bad with what I'm currently tasting.
Recently I had it happen with funfetti - started tasting like chalk, soaps, wet dog, etc. I added some TFA Silly Rabbit and Fruity Loops w/ milk to make a cereal cake out of it and it stopped tasting like ass.
This is actually interesting to me, I recently started mixing my own stuff but before that happened I had received 2 120s of colden by adirondack that came in 2 seperate bottles. It is a pineapple, grape and menthol vape, any similarities to your adv?
Every tank (smoke baby beast - vape while at work) made a popping sound and lost all flavour, tasting like plain vg, then would go back to tasting normal. At the time I believed it was just garbage smok coils but then I purchased a wotofo troll rta and the same thing happened.
It is a fruity menthol vape (it's a modified version of thug juice), I've been vaping it just now, just before it tasted like nothing, now I've got the flavor again and sure enough soon it'll be gone.
I have had some similar issues which I believe were due to my sinuses and also a bit of olfactory fatigue as well, I found that the taste would come and go constantly. I put it away for a while (fruity menthol) and went back to it recently with no issues. It was also a 500ml batch.
Basically it's hard to work out why but most dessert juices taste pretty shit to me, my palate isn't brilliant.
That's weird because I have 1 juice I made recently(torrone custard, not my recipe) that share some of your issues here and I can't explain why. First hit is wonderful, second nice, 3rd meh and 4rth nothing at all or just bad... I always think I need to drip but the wick is wet so I still add a bit of juice and it starts over with 1st wonderful, second nice etc...
I don't understand...
What total % of flavoring are you using? This sounds like too much flavoring. It could also be vapors tongue, vapors tongue isn't always just completely muted taste. It can also make juice you vape a lot taste inconsistent as your pallet might become more adjusted to one particular flavoring than another at a time.
