Relatable Flavors:
- very earthy
- nondescript grassy wood notes (not like a virginia, I guess like Arabic tobacco which I have never tasted)
- the grassy notes are almost like chewing the tea leaves left at the bottom of a Chinese tea cup
- some definite burning cig qualities to it, acrid, like when you're half way down the cigarette, not even sure how to describe it, sort of ash flavor like DNB but without the campfire smokiness
Mouth Feel:

- none
Position In A Recipe:
- bury it in the base notes
Suggested Percentage:
- 1-2%
Pairings:
- Virginias
- Black For Pipe
- Dark For Pipe
- add to your analog cig
Conclusion:
- Forget about putting this in dessert tobacco vapes. Arabian is a down and dirty flavoring for hardcore tobacco heads.
- This will take some finesse to use properly. It's definitely not a standalone. Drop it in a mix at low percents to add depth to the burning part of the leaf.
- This shows a lot of promise for my white whale project.. the perfect cigarette vape. But no promises lol.
- Buy this only if you're trying to make some authentic tobacco recipes and you want to dirty up the mix without adding more DNB. And be prepared to tinker with it to get it where it needs to be.
Hey, it's me, your stalker. The Commercial Cigarette review got me mildly bummed, but since I bought this flavor too, I'm happy again. I'm also really wanting a realistic cigarette flavor, so we will have to chat about that once I make some progress. FYI, in case you haven't tried it yet, the Super Concentrates Real Cig is not really a real cig. At least that's not what I get from it.
There were a string of swear words that came to mind when reading your last sentence which I will not put into writing. I was really hoping Real Cig would be "it". I have it on my shelf, waiting to be mixed. Seems that creating a burning cig flavor is pretty difficult cuz so far, all the flavorings that claim to be it, are not it. And all the recipes I've tried that call themselves cigarette recipes, are hard fails.
We will have to work on something once you've tried all the FLVs you ordered. Arabian is definitely a contender. It's faaaar from a standalone tho. I think if making a cig flavor is even possible, it's will be a pinch of this, a dash of that, type of situation.
If you haven't tried Real Cig yet, maybe you'll get something from it that I didn't get. It was actually one of the first flavors I got when I started DIY, but I recently got it again because I didn't really remember what it was like.
It's been a while since I've had a real cigarette (besides the one I had a month ago, but I was drunk so I don't really remember what it tasted like), so I'm not even sure I will be able to tell if I find "it." I'm hoping that it'll be something that just hits me when I taste it. Kind of like the first time I tried DNB at .75% and was immediately reminded of the ashtray taste. You got anything besides Arabic that shows promise?
Ya agree, it's been over 3 years since I smoked a cigarette. But I smoked for 10+ years so imagine I will have an "ah ha" moment when/if I taste ciggy flavor.
FLV Classic Cigarette could be useful in small amounts. I think the hardest part is getting the right note for the dirty, smokey part. FA Black Fire is good too for that, it brings smoke flavor. There's gotta be more out there. The search continues..
God damn dude. Got them in today and mixed them all up at 3%. This review had me super curious about this one, so I gave it a shake and vape. It's fuckin odd, to say the least. Definitely not joking about not putting it in a dessert or standalone. It reminds me of something, but I don't know what. It's one of those that leaves a cooling sensation on the tongue, but I'm not getting the cough medicine taste. Pretty chemical tasting, I think. Maybe earthy as in chewing dried up leaves. But somehow it's not completely offensive. M-Type Premium; now that was completely offensive. This has similar qualities I think, but it could be something I can work with. Gonna keep this one at .5% though I think. Gonna drip some other stuff on top to see if I can bury it enough to see how it will work hidden in the mix. Like, stowaway on a ship hidden.
Am about to try mixing with Arabian. 0.5% sounds like a good start. I'm gonna add some Black For Pipe, AP and something else, don't know what yet, but I'm going for a leafy, non sweet blend. I don't get any cooling sensation from this at all personally but as we know, everyone is different in how they taste stuff. You and I definitely need to start taste testing single ingredients together to establish a baseline of what does what. I'm infinitely curious what it is you perceive as the medicine note cuz it's something that must be in a lot of baccos. Would be a cool project anyway. BTW, ever tried NETs?
As I was looking through all those flavor molecules to come up with a starting up list, I noticed that a few of them had "phenol" as a description. Guaiacol is one of them, which is in a couple of TFA tobaccos, but it's not in Western. I'm guessing there might be a couple different molecules that are giving me those tastes. It does seem to be quite a few, but luckily there are plenty of others that I'm ok with. I really want to start in to that deeper diy stuff, but I really want to have a solid list to start with and get all my mixing percentages figured out before I order anything. My main goal isn't necessarily to make a tobacco, but more get a tobacco additive for a TA or something. So I can just do TA plus 3% of my flavor and call it a day. In the meantime I've got plenty of other things to work on.
The only NET I've had was one I made myself around the time I started mixing. It was kind of shit haha. I used the organic American Spirits roll your own and it just mostly tasted like stale marijuana. After that I figured I'm more of a TA kind of guy.
As for that Arabian, I'm still a little nervous. I dripped quite a bit of Dark for Pipe over it, and that taste never did get any smoother. Maybe I'll just throw something together and see how it works.
I just finished my first round of NETs a few days ago. Pretty interesting results. I have an English Oriental that is smokey as all hell. It's pretty surreal how much it tastes like smoke. Haven't tried all of em yet but there's definitely some promise there. The real problem I see is how fast they gunk. I filtered through a 2 micron filter paper with my Aeropress and only 5mL into the vape my wicks/coils need changing. I think I have to figure out a way to go sub micron in order for NETs to be a viable option for me. But never the less, pretty tasty while it lasts.
Jury is still out on Arabian, my little mix just now obviously hasn't steeped but it's ok at best. I went with SC Havana Dry and FLV Virginia for the other two flavors and it didn't do what I was expecting. So maybe user error really.
A little late to this one but I've found the sweet spot to be 0.66% for me; any lower and I can't taste it as much as I want, and any higher and it gets a little to forward on the nose.
It is definitely a finicky one and will take a lot of fine tuning in your recipes, but I think it's well worth it as it is a very forward cigarette-style flavor (tastes kind of like a camel tobacco to me) that can make an exceptional addition to a mix. It will be the main flavor profile for most of the recipes since it is so forward.
If you have any good recipes with this flav I'd love to try. Still mussing about with it. Definitely less than 1% making the most sense so far..
This Winter MochaMint is my most successful creation using it so far. Even at 0.66% it's strong but not overwhelming.
Doing first mix with this one. Wish me luck!
How did it go? I've been offline, just seeing this now..
It's interesting. Wouldn't say it's bad. That Arabian is just so strong. Tried to play it safe at .5%, and the whole mix pretty much tasted like my 3% single flavor tester. That was right away though, so I've got hopes it'll mellow out a bit. I'm thinking it might be a MTL only type flavor. In case you're curious, here's what I did:
FLV Arabian- .5%
FLV Red Burley- 2.5%
DNB- .5%
INW TA Virginia- 1%
MTS Vape Wizard- .3%
Put the MTS in there in hopes it would mellow it out a bit. I'll have to give it another try tonight. I'm hoping the leafy ash of the Red Burley and Virginia will show up to the party. If not, I may have to try diluting and mixing with the Arabian.
Looks like an interesting mix. Even without the Arabian it would be nice. I did something pretty similar recently but with Dark For Pipe instead of the Burley. Wasn't bad but I think the TA sweetened the mix too much. Haven't single flavor tested Virginia TA so not for sure on that.
