This is what I received in my deluxe ATF awesome box:
So there are two recipes for starters: chrisdvr1's sugar cookies and cream, and a version of cokecan's apricot tobacco called root kit 2.0. I got a picture of diy or die's one and only Wayne (seems odd but it's interesting), there's also a cheat sheet for mixing with the flavors in the box. Also included are some nice labels for your new mixes!
Littered throughout are strange peices of odd candy, perhaps for inspiration.
Now to the flavors!
FLV Alpine Strawberry
Delosi Clove
Delosi Black Licorice
JF Fuji
JF RY4 Double
JF Strawberry Sweet
JF Biscuit
TFA Vanilla Swirl
TFA Whipped Cream
TFA Butter
CAP Sugar Cookie
FW Butterscotch Ripple
FW Bavarian Cream
FW Hazelnut
FA Meringue
FA Fresh Cream
FA Apricot
FA Vienna Cream
FA Forest Fruit
The whole package fit nicely in my mailbox and arrived intact (except for the crazy banana stick candy) I'd rate this purchase at 9/10
Edit: I forgot to mention the strange liquid barn Belgian Waffle diy "kit" like a premixed recipe you just add VG to. Also I noticed that diy or die did a video of opening the box
I want one but can i order it without the personality cards? "a little odd" is an understatement.
I echo the same sentiments. Not everyone has a hard-on for Wayne and his gang.
I actually find that hilarious! Even if you were a fanboy, what the hell are you supposed to do with a picture of Wayne? :) That has to be the joke.
I told Scott the "cards" were pretty lame. Collectibles is a cool idea though
Boo! :)
Sorry! I like the content and all, yours and dod both being very influential and informative, I just don't understand placing people/personalities on pedestals. It's a cool idea but maybe the content of the cards could be different. Like, we have the recipe cheat sheet, why not a contest winner's recipe w/in-depth notes that relates to the flavors included in some way. Or something like things mixers may not have considered like adding hazelnut to a milkshake recipe or koolada to gum with an explanation as to what it's doing.
Overall I love the idea, and will definitely be buying a sub, just not the cards bit.
You are grossly mistaking this for some sort of democratic process. This is strictly business, it is a practice called bundling and cross-promotion. Two businesses promoting each other for profit. You can best voice your opinion using your wallet. Put your money where your mouth is, and don't support businesses that engage in practices you do not approve of.
Thanks for the review! If you got Licorice, you must have requested it - they sent that by mistake.
They sent a LOT of it by mistake.
Yeah I asked you for it. Why did you say that I wouldn't want it? I haven't tried it yet, is it terrible?
I also purchased the deluxe box, recieved basically same flavors minus the black licorice. Had all the flavors except waffle and clove. If you have a lot of flavors like me (600+), I do not recommend it. But, for a newer mixer, I think this is a great box to get monthly. A lot of staple flavors came with the box.
That's kinda what I told Scott from the jump, that this seemed more tailored for newer mixers. But even as a mixer with the majority of those flavours already in my arsenal, it's nice to have extras. And at the price point, you're still saving money as opposed to ordering from a vendor.
It's definitely not catered toward us flavor hoarding weirdos. I'm still tempted to get another box, though.
Where the heck do you store 600+ flavors?

Old pic of room, but you get an idea.
Yeah I am inclined to agree. I saw Wayne's first impressions on it and it does seem more skewed towards beginners. I thought the intention was to introduce more odd and unobtainable flavorings. If this pick up, maybe /u/queuetue can consider doing two different subscription packs, one for beginners (with recipes, instructions, etc) and one for intermediate to experienced.
/u/WorstAdviceROC come tell your story about how the Awesome Box saved Valentine's Day!
Indeed!
Yesterday evening, I arrived home with 3 hours to spare in which to ready Valentine's day for my 'ol lady. As I'm in the shower, I get a call- My girlfriend, who has never even missed so much as an hour of work in HER LIFE, is so sick they are sending her home. So sick, in fact, she can't even drive. With my plans foiled, I decide to open the Awesome Box on my way out the door.
And what do you know? A little package of SweetHearts with a To-From label on the front! When I picked her up, she was in tears from feeling bad, and that little bag elicited what may go down as one of the sweetest snot-nosed teary-eyed laughs you've ever seen!
The flavors were definitely worth it, but that candy+timing was invaluable! I'll be ordering every month, as I only recieved 3 flavors I already had. If I can "set it and forget it" with ATF, it saves me all that time cursing that my BCF cart was deleted, AGAIN... lol
That looks really cool. I haven't really used All the Flavors, but sounds like a fun thing to do. I might have to order April's box. I'll probably get a lot of flavors I already have though, that's the only thing stopping me.
~~It's strange that DoD did a video but didn't mention having any sort of direct affiliation.~~
there is no affiliation
~~I might have misunderstood, were the playing cards exclusively DoD members?~~
