Not a new mixer but angry at myself because I accidentally mixed cucumber donut instead of jelly donut a few months ago and decided to let it steep and now it tastes really foreign and bizarre and awesome and am foolishly trying to remember what the recipe was.

My favourite vape I've found is a banana custard. am I better off using a banana custard concentrate? or mixing a plain banana concentrate with a custard one?
Read some reviews of the flavors you want to try. If you don't mind diacetyl CAP vanilla custard v1 is the king of custards. It would probably be good with LA banana cream (colorless) to make a bànana custard maybe something like:
6% CAP vanilla custard v1
6% LA banana cream
I've never mixed that up but it might be a good place to start.
I mix by weight and have a 100th of a gram scale. I have a few recipes that I make and really like but I want to start mixing some single flavors. Couple of questions.
- I normally mix 30mls to test stuff mixing 15 seems hard when mixing by weight can / should that be done with success. Should I mix smaller than 30ml by volume if at all?
- When single flavor mixing what is a good % to start at to get an idea of its profile. I read lots of flavor reviews where the review is "@ 2% its X at 4% is Y etc..." are they mixing multiple batch sir double post mix on increase?

I've mixed 10ml bottles by weight it's pretty much the same as 30ml. Just be careful.
For your other question: you can make multiple samples if you want to steep them all, but I think what you are talking about is /u/ConcreteRiver shake and vape testing to get an idea of what percentage to steep at. That leads me to believe that he just uses one bottle and adds a bit, tests, adds more, tests and so on until finding a good level
There's a general "rule of 5" 'round these parts for single flavor testing. TPA/CAP/FW are usually single tested at 5% to start with, and INW/FA are usually single tested at 2% to start with. I'm not sure what others do, but I usually mix several 10ml single flavor testers at differing percentages to dial it in. That way I can test side by side. I have no issue making 10ml batches by weight. Especially single flavors. That said, most of my recipe testers are 30ml nowadays. Used to be 15ml. I don't trash as much anymore, and I always test everything from shake and vape all the way through a months steep. I test bangers beyond that. My Milk Was a Rad Choice is milky perfection at 3 months. Botboy141's Vicious Vanilla is a fucking masterpiece (best of all time status) at 6 months. Anyway, yeah, 5% and 2%. You shouldn't have much difficulty single testing in small amounts. Happy mixing!
I have a few questions about undiluted nicotine. Do I shake the bottle before use? Does it really need to be stored in the freezer? If so, how do I transfer it to a smaller bottle when it comes time? Do I wait for it to come to room temperature before I open the bottle? Sorry in advance for all the questions.

I recently started trying my flavorings in small 5ml bottles at recommended % and was curious of how long should I wait to try my various flavorings. I've only been waiting a week for fruits and so far I think that's a success. Have 1 week old creams, milks, bakeries, and some florals. Is there a golden rule or a recommended wait time to make sure I get the right flavor experience ? I mostly vape at max vg so have been making my liquids as such also. Still fairly new to mixing and just trying to slowly improve. Any tips would be most welcomed.

I live in Brazil, the weather here is usually warm and i started to wonder if my flavors and pg, vg are fine to be inside my house without fridge.
I know fridge has its cons like being dry, but i've heard that a lot of ppl keep their diy stuff inside small fridges in it's hottest setting, so it just keep them "cool"
I have a thermometer here, it's not verry good and precise but it's saying my room temp is 28 celcius. It's not about nic, because i'm keeping my nic on freezer, but about pg, vg and the flavors should i worry about them being on this temperature?

I have on my list a 4oz bottle of TFA Marshmallow, and a small bottle of CAP. In my head I want to make two recipes. I want a straw and marsh of some kind, and a strawberry, marshmallow, rice crispy treat. Also got a bigger bottle of FA meringue. I ordered some Cap Super Sweet, and TFA Sweetener. I have been vaping store bought juices. So I was thinking I would need a lot of sweetener since I'm used to all the juices loaded with sweetener. Should I ditch all of it ? I don't like the sugar lips type juices. I like sweet, but not where it feels like I'm drinking sugar juice when I vape it. By the way, I have been working on this first order for a week. I don't know if that's good or bad ? I keep changing it. I would just re-order any flavors I don't have, but the shipping is free when you spend over a $100. I'm up to $167 dollars.
You're going to be ordering once or twice a month probably anyway. I wouldn't worry about getting everything at once. It's impossible.
The best way to do it is to buy for well known recipes that you know you'll like and want to make. Pick 3 and buy for that. Buy smaller 15ml bottles to begin with. Then if/when you run out order a 30ml. You're using very small amounts of this stuff. It will take you 6yrs to go through 4oz.
I just bought for recipes for about 3 months, twice a month. Now I have about 150 of the most popular and best concentrates. I find that I usually have everything I need when I get a recipe I want to try.
Been using Cinnamon Roll FW for my cinnamon needs, but it seems to fade out quickly. Am I not using enough or is there a better cinnamon I can use?
What are your cinnamon needs? There are probably better cinnamons for most jobs but they'd vary from one application to the next

So I wanted to start mixing to save money and I bought myself two 100ml base liquids (one 100 VG and other 100 PG), one 50ml bottle and Capella flavor. My problem was that when I took base with my syringe and tried to put it into a bottle it wouldn't go down and got stuck in the top of the bottle. Also how do you measure flavors since i cant fit my syringe in the flavor bottle? Any help would be nice, thanks.
I would normally say mixing by weight will solve your problem (it will) but you only plan to make two bottles of juice? With one flavor? Or is this just a trial before you buy more? If you really want to diy some juice you should look into getting a scale. The sidebar is worth a read too, that's how I got started.
You can try a short piece of aquarium air tubing attached to the bottom of the syringe to help you get into the bottle of flavorings. You will have to pump the syringe few times when drawing so that you are not drawing air up into the syringe. Detach the tube before dispensing into your bottle so that your measurements stay accurate.

You may want to find an alternative to caramel original it contains corn syrup. As for single flavors that cap vanilla custard v1 is good

Has anyone tried FW Blue Graham Waffle, or TFA Maple Deluxe? I can't seem to find anything about these flavors. Just wondering if anyone uses them or tried them before. Can't seem to find much about them.

Hiya folks, I got a problem. I made a juice that has too much flavor for my taste. My question is, if I leave it in a warm place with open-top for, like 2 days, would the flavor decrease or am i just gonna lose nicotine out of it?
I mixed 12mg 80 ml VG 10ml of a very very heavy flavor (chocolate, coconut and vanilla) in PG 2ml stevia.
You'll lose some flavor and some nicotine, but not a lot, these flavorings aren't that volatile and neither is nic suspended in PG/VG. The juice will oxidize and absorb moisture from the air turning it harsher however.
If you haven't steeped the mix for at least two weeks already, I would give it at least that amount of time. It just might turn out awesome if you're patient.
If it has already steeped and you would toss it away, you might as well try something, but diluting with more PG/VG+nic would be the better solution if you want to rescue the mix.
It's only been steeping for 24 hours, I might as well give steeping a first try.
I usually use more fruitier, herbal flavors; which some even require lose their entire aroma if you steep it for like a week. Steeping might help the chocolate-coconut thingy.

Seems reasonable, yes. That will definitely taste like a strawberry watermelon. Might be a tad over flavored, though.
As I understand mixing e-juice completely without nicotine also reduces the throat hit significantly. Can that be mitigated by adding more PG to the mix?
If you're seeking a throat hit some people add a drop of jalapeno flavor to there mix not enough to really flavor anything just to add the "harshness"
I'm first time DIY mixer and i wanted to ask how much flavour should I add to my base liquid. I'm using Capella flavours.
What flavours do you have and what is the VG/PG ratio of you base. Also are you mixing by weight or using volume?

Are you using a syringe to measure the base and flavour quantities or a scale? I'm assuming that it's Cappella French Vanilla V2. Not a well received flavour from what I read. Around 3% to 5% of the total mixture would be ok from what I can see. If you have no scale or syringe it gets tricky as drops are not very accurate. For Cappella droppers I find about 4 drops per 0.1grams so for 10ml of eLiquid with 5% flavour add 20 drops to 5ml of VG and 4.5 ml of PG. Or if they are already mixed just use 10ml. This is really rough though. You will need to let that flavour set for at least a week to be good enough to try. YMMV.

You need to tell people what you are looking to tweak. As is, someone might suggest tweaking the strawberry ratios, but you don't want to tweak that because you like it how it is. See what I'm getting at here?
In my opinion, I don't satisfy with my strawberry ratio, I have TFA strawberry organic in my stash.I'm looking for any suggestion to add more strawberry without too candylish, and Vanilla Ice cream is still lacking in the receipe.
7% is too much strawberry ripe for me so I'd knock that down by half. My palate doesn't agree with CAP sweet strawberry, so personally I wouldn't use it, but if you like it you can increase it to 3-4%. I really enjoy INW shisha strawberry at like 1-2%.
10% koolada is absolutely insane to me, but hey, this is your recipe not mine.
You could easily increase the VBIC by a percent or two. Also, CAP vanilla custard at 1-2% could help thicken the overall profile.
I searched the side bar and Google for this answer. I want to get some good nic for my first order. Either Nude or Carolina. I need to know if a 120ml bottle of 100mg/ml nic is enough to make atleast six, 120ml bottles, of 3mg juice. Any replies would be greatly appreciated. It's holding me up on my order.
I'm having trouble mixing my juices any ideas? I'm making max vg juices and the flavoring/nic seems too strong for the first half of the bottle but weak the second half.
Sounds like you may not be shaking them enough. The whole bottle should be consistent looking. I still haven't found a great way to mix MAX VG juices without heat steeping.
And unfortunately according to my workflow I forget to wait to add the nicotine and it comes out harsh.
What are good Capella flavor recipes? Good and easy to make (2 or 3 flavors).

I was thinking of linking that as well, but I looked at it and calling it an older list seems like an understatement. Makes me think that we parrot too much about people needing to read the sidebar but some things certainly are in dire need of an update over there. Could be good, FA Fuji is perhaps a bit high, it's very strong, I'd skip TFA Sour until you've tried the recipe without it first, and I'm not so sure about CAP Cake Batter, it may give a bit more body but will also introduce a lot of off-flavors that may not work that well in the mix. Just my first impressions looking at the recipe. Note that the v2's tend to need longer steep, it may take up to two weeks for this to really come together, but feel free to taste it now and then in the mean time.

I don't think you'll like that CAP cake batter in there unless it steeps for a month. Even then, it might get weird, that is kind of a tricky ingredient when it comes to working with others.

Hi guys I'm having a lot of trouble with too much throat hit..
I'm new to DIY and after about 2 weeks of trying different recipes I've finally got one that tastes great! But no matter what I mix it's too harsh!
First I vaped a batch with no nicotine and it was really smooth, so thought it MUST be the nicotine (from Vapable in the UK). I switched to vampire vapes nicotine as it's known to be a decent vendor and after about 3 days steeping it is still giving a bad throat hit. Will steeping for longer make the throat hit go away?
Recipe is:
Bubblegum (Cap) - 3% Watermelon (FA) - 7% Super sweet (Cap) - 1 drop per 10ml. VG/PG - 75/25
Nicotine is 0.56 ml (72mg pg base) for a 20ml mix to get 2mg over all.
I love the flavour and really think I've finally found my first DIY ADV, I just need to get rid of the damn throat hit!!
Any advice or suggested improvements to the recipe would be appreciated :)
if it's the nic it's not going to get any better. if you'd done the exact same recipe with no problems minus the nic, it's the nic.
mix up a batch of pg/vg and nic with no flavors and test it.

I've found that heat steeping instantly adds throat hit.
Hi no I just shook it up and left the cap off overnight in a cupboard, put the cap back on and left it for another 2 days. I'm going to leave it a few more days to see if gets any better.
Hello, if nicotine gets exposed to oxygen it tends to oxidize and become harsh.
Realistically it shouldn't be getting THAAAT harsh after breath steeping (which is also almost always not recommended for mixers unless you have a specific reason for doing it).
I would try avoiding breath steeping. If your nicotine is just on the verge of going bad (bad quality nicotine), they tend to just go bad faster. I had nicotine from Ecigexpress which would be fine freshly mixed, but after a few days of steeping it would get harsh, really quick. To continue using the nicotine I would recommend adding everything except the nicotine. Then when it's done steeping, THEN put in the nicotine.
What are some good flavors to make an apple juice flavor? I heard Cap double apple but not much else.
SC Red Apple 4% + FA Fuji 2% makes for a decently legit apple juice. Super Concentrate Red Apple is reminiscent of cheap apple juice and FA Fuji gives it a nice extra little kick.

Hi! I've been reading and reading but I think I could use some help on this one.
I am very new to DIY and have already mixed my first 30ml which tasted great but after 3 days it started to get some kind of throat hit.
The flavors that I have here are the only ones that I have in stock. I was already thinking of bringing down the Strawberry ripe to 4% and maybe bump up golden pineapple / and banana cream by 0.25% and jackfruit by 0.5%.
What do you think would be best in terms of percentages?

You are right lol totally forgot about that. It is supposed to be a strawberry banana with something tropical. I was thinking of bringing down the strawberry bit because it's harsh, but because it's what comes out the most when fresh and personally, I'm looking for a S&V.
I have a few questions:
- How and where do you guys store large quantities of VG? I'm about to order 1gal from Amazon (essential depot).
- Should I store large quantities of mixed juice in the refrigerator? I'm asking because I just mixed 300mL of my favorite clone in 70vg/30pg/3mg and I don't want it to go bad. I probably won't be close to running out of it until Summer and I don't want it to go bad/oxidize.
- Pertaining to the question above, is it ok to store large quantities of juice in HDPE or should I get some big glass bottles?

I have a problem you may be able to help me with. I'm looking for some tips that fit these bottles and have tips thin enough to put in the gasket of a TFV8, but I'm having a hard time locating some in a 20-410 neck. The tips on USPlastic aren't going to work. I'm looking for tips like these but I don't want to pay that much for bottles when I can get waaaaay more for the same price on USPlastic.
i doubt you're going to find unicorn tips to fit that kind of bottle. the neck styles just aren't compatible because your bottles thread goes all the way to the top. adding in the requirement to fit into a tfv8 fill port just makes it that much harder.
the only ones on usplastics that might work is the 180704 but that's a 28/400 thread and the smallest bottle in that type with that thread is a liter bottle. the 180703 might also work, but that's a 24/410 and the smallest bottle for that is 120ml
I'm working on a White Chocolate Truffle recipe, trying to at least lol, looking for idea's on what could help it along.
So this is what I have right now:
FW White Chocolate @ 5%
TPA Bavarian Cream @ 2%
FLV Cream @ 1%
Cap Marshmallow @ 1%
INW Vanilla Shisha @ .5%
So here is my thought process behind this concoction.
The FW White Chocolate I think explains itself, I need white chocolate if i'm to make a white chocolate truffle. @5% because it's the main attraction, and I want it to be right up front.
TPA Bavarian Cream using this to add some vanilla and cream, with some thickness and mouth feel along with some sweetness.
FLV Cream thick and creamy, again with a little sweetness. Also kind of has a "cool" mouth feel, which I also get when eating lindt truffles.
INW Vanilla Shisha Have to have some vanilla and shisha should blend well with the creams.
Cap Marshmallow Again some nice mouth feel, a little sweetness and help the creams blend.
I'm waiting on it to steep right now, just mixed it up a little while ago. I took a few pulls and right now, it just tastes a little to much like normal chocolate, hoping it comes around with some steeping.

I do have TPA White Chocolate also, which i've not used, but smells pretty good. I'm going to try a few different batches tomorrow, got to get to bed.
I thought the TFA White Chocolate was pretty good, and I like to keep it around 5%. FA Vienna Cream @ 2-3% is a great pairing to moisten up the white chocolate, which I've found to be a bit dry without a decent cream pairing.
Awesome, I'll try that out when I mix up some batches to test. I'm just waiting on a flavor order to come in. Have some more flavors I'm interested in testing with also. I've got these coming I'm thinking I might try out in this.

It tastes like regular chocolate instead of white chocolate?
Ya a bit, I mean it's still white chocolate, but it has a definite cocoa taste to it. More than I thin it should have, the white chocolate truffles do not have as much of a cocoa taste to them.
There's a dark, caramelly/mapely thing going on inside TFA Bav Cream that might be contributing to that. Try replacing the Bav Cream with something more bright white in flavor and less brownish than TFA Bav (if that makes any sense) --- CAP Vanilla Whipped Cream would probably be your best bet but if you don't have that, TFA Whipped Cream and 2-week steep, FA Whipped Cream and a few days of steeping, or maybe one of the Sweet Cream flavors, FW or CAP Bavarian, or FA Cream Fresh.
Is the FA Zeppola hype real? I've been trying to find a way to introduce the "fried" aspect to some recipes, could this be a key flavour?
It's pretty good, man. I really like it. It isn't a perfect donut/fried dough flavor. It has a citrus note nestled in it, so you have to keep that in mind. It is, however, easily the best donut-esque flavor out there IMO. People insist FA Joy isn't flat beer but it's actually that fried flavor.. I think Zeppola hits much closer to that mark while having some body of its own. I'm having a hell of a time working a touch of cinnamon into it because of the lemony/bright/citrus note. Been trying to tone that down. I think you'll be satisfied with it though. It benefits big time from a couple weeks of steeping.

Take a look at this recently updated list and you'll see that a good majority say that CAP Vanilla Custard V1, CAP Sugar Cookie, and CAP Sweet Strawberry are their favorites.
Hi it's me again. I am having what I feel is a serious issue which is now actually making me not want to vape. Like today I actually thought, "Damn, I shoulda bought some smokes." Please keep in mind that I never surf any other vape subreddits and only started vaping 6 months ago.
Over the last few days all the juice I smoke tastes like absolute shit. I thought it was my coil at first so I changed it like 3 times. Well maybe it wasn't that, maybe it's my mouth. It's dry as a goddamn desert all the time, my tongue is like death warmed over and every hit I take from my vape seems hot and harsh and disgusting and I can't taste anything and I hate it.
I know VG is a humectant so it's sucking all of the moisture out of my tongue, but goddamn I feel like my lungs are trying to be ripped out through my salivary glands, and that my tongue is literally wrapped inside PLASTIC.
I use Bulk Apothecary VG. This stuff. I bought the right stuff, right? I'm not smoking ass paste or something am I? It sure feels like I am.

You need to drink more water, like a lot more. Stop drinking anything else besides water for a week or so and see if that helps.
I do already though, I really do. I really do drink at least a gallon of water a day as measured by the 32 oz cups I use. I never drink any kind of soda or coffee or tea or anything but water all day every day. I'll increase it and see what happens.
Nothing has changed in my vaping habits except the variable that I now make my own juice. This has never happened to me before.
This kind of happened to me. I kind of assumed it was my tastes buds coming back from being dulled from smoking cigs. All of a sudden my ADV's went from delicious to absolute chemical taste. At first I changed coils, thought my taste was f'd up or that crap I guess vaping isn't for me. But now I found I really like more natural flavors and spiced and tobacco blended stuff and can't stand the candy or too fruitty flavors now. At least thats for me.. anyways just try some other flavors
Looking for a bit of advice ? I've just ordered some concentrate 30 ml heizenberg flavour and 2x 100 ml 70 VG 30 PG @ 6 MG strength . Thing is I'm clueless as in what I'm doing, and how much concentrate I'm adding to the premix. I was told 85 ml premix then add 15 ml concentrate! Is that correct? If so how much would I add to 100 ml premix as I've bought 100 ml bottles.

INW Plum, FA Fuji and FA Spearmint is probably a good start, not sure about the sour part but some lemon might work. I'd keep the mint very low, it'll shine through even in tiny amounts.

what dilution do you want? 3mg, 6mg, 9mg? something in between? at it's most basic, for every total volume of 30ml for any given recipe you're going to add 1.66ml of nic per mg/ml you want of your 18mg/ml nic.
if you want to make 30ml of juice @ 1mg/ml nic you'd use 1.66ml of nic
if you want to make 30ml of juice @ 3mg/ml nic you'd add ~5ml of nic
if you want to make 120ml of juice @ 3mg/ml nic you'd add 20ml of nic

Any other tips or things I should expect as a newbie mixer?
Did you buy those flavors at random or did you look up good recipes? That's the way to do it. Otherwise you will have flavors you will never use. Mostly, recipes containing single flavors or fruit mixes will be good to go right way.
Someone (random internet person had to have been a 45 year old woman) tried to confront me about my 0 nicotine e juice being illigal to sell. I live in new york and according to my research and knowledge i already had, there is nothing against selling 0 nicotine eliquid. Going to buy some mango and peach flavors. I'm going to be buying FLV mango for certain. Any recommendations otherwise ? I want to keep it simple with maybe two mango and two peach flavors.

I recommend buying all the mangoes because you never know which ones might be the best for a given mango situation. For example, having TFA Philippine, a pretty inferior standalone mango really (but still better than that INW abomination), on hand just recently made it possible for me create a super awesome recipe that destroyed the competition in the second round of the DoD World Mixer's Comp.
But, if you are only going to be getting two mango flavors, then I would say without any hesitation they should be FLV Mango and CAP Sweet Mango.

I am not an expert on peach by any stretch whatsoever but I'll toss my two cents in: INW Peach and .... Well, it really depends on what you're planning to do with it, but probably FLV Peach. If you're planning on getting more than two, then go ahead and pick up FA White Peach, FA Peach, and TFA Juicy Peach while you're at it. CAP Juicy Peach if you're looking for a cooked peach like a peach pie, it seems to do a slightly better job of that than TFA. MAYBE JF Honey Peach... but I'd read the Flavor Review on that one and make sure that's what you really want first.

Gonna go with INW peach, and both FA ones for now. I've read about JF honey peach and I definitely want to familiarize myself with some other peach stuff before I go that route.
Really trying to delve into fruits because I've neglected them for soo long. I've been spending 95% of my mixing time on ice creams, custards and bakery stuff. I've got like 50 fruits and yet to grab a peach one (or a good mango) so I'm excited. First thing I'm going to do is 3% FLV mango solo.

Hmm off the top of my head, TFA Mango and CAP Sweet Mango are nice, if I had to pick one I'd go with the latter. As for peach, FA White Peach and INW Peach are as close as you get to the real deal, FA Peach is nice as a complement and TFA Juicy Peach is really light and sweet, although some find it harsh.
TFA Nectarine and CAP, FA or INW Apricot are all worthwhile.
Gonna try INW apricot. Between cap and TFA nectarine which would you pick if only one?
Haven't tried CAP's, it's probably fine, but TFA's won't disappoint, it's sweet and juicy, a tad weak so you may need to bump the percentage up a bit, but very tasty.

Hi guys, so I've just started mixing about a week ago and so far its going pretty good. Nothing great, but all vapable.
My initial plan was to make an Element orange style vape, but by the looks I dont have the right flavourings for that.

These are all fruit flavors. I would vape them at single flavors till getting some cream or bread to mix with them. That being said I think Lemon (3%ish) Strawberry (5%ish) would been a nice sweet and tart flavor maybe bump the lemon even lower depending on how strong it is
Is vaping cheaper than smoking yet?
for me - yes FINALLY. when I picked up my first mod and bottle of juice almost 2 years ago, I was told and read repeatedly "vaping is cheaper than smoking". Between all the gear I would pick up and commercial juices I was buying my vape budget FAR exceeded what I had been spending on cigs. Of course over the course of my 25+ years smoking I burnt a ton of cash. Still, since I've gone DIY (almost 2 months now) I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Like all things vape the initial DIY costs were somewhat high, but now that I have a good stash of flavors, a bottle of nic and a gallon of VG I have enough stock that I could vape "free" for the next year or so (I mean how many mls does the average guy vape in a day 10, 15? a chain vaping dripper maybe 20?). The missing piece of the "cheap vaping" for me, was clearly going DIY. those $20s and $30s for juice add up quick. My one regret? that I didn't go DIY early on in my vape experience - sadly I bought into the "juice making is rocket science" that many companies want us to believe.

funny part is I've been lurking on this site for a couple of months since I decided to go DIY. I saw your username hundreds of times and in my head thought ID10 or ID ten - T. It was only when recently watching a diyordie video and one of the guys referred to you as idiot - did the light bulb go off. I felt kinda dumb for not even noticing...
I've been lucky with DIY - most of my mixes I've liked. I did realize I only like cinnamon danish swirl in really small percentages. but didn't realize it until after I mixed several juices with something like 6% - 8% CDS - still each mix is cheap enough that I can toss something I don't like. I would only do that with commercial juice when I was absolutely convinced I'd never vape it or that no one would want it for a freebie. it hurt pouring $20+ down the drain.
I have about 88 or so flavors in my stash - many I haven't used yet, but will get around to trying more recipes - didn't buy my flavors willie nillie - all of them were needed for some recipe another. still at $2.50 or so for a tester bottle I have no problem with trying flavors.
I've mixed up several of your recipes and have a handful of others in the queue for my next mix session.
It's supposed to be pronounced EYE DEE TEN TEE like people in IT will say some dummy's computer problem is due to an "ID10-T error" or in my case based on a practical joke that involves convincing people that they need to fill out an ID10-T form... while at the same time serving as a self-depreciating reminder of a time when I was, in fact, an idiot. But I'll answer to whatever.
I've never poured anything out. I vape every last drop of even my shittiest mixes as punishment for shitty mixing. But many people consider being able to toss something you don't like without pissing away an hour's wages or more a major bonus to DIY, so you're definitely not alone in that.
Hey everyone! Quick question: which is better for storing flavorings, glass or plastic bottles? All my flavorings came in glass bottles, but I'm thinking about switching them to plastic bottles with dropper caps for the convenience of not having to use pipettes to pour the flavoring into the mix. Is it better to leave them on glass or it's okay to switch to plastic?
All the flavorings are in 10 ml glass bottles, the plastic dropper bottles are 20 ml, don't know if that's a factor or not.

The one you linked is probably the most popular. All The Flavors is also excellent. Both allow you to store your own recipes and look up others. As far as features go, ATF has more of them.
I have found ELR (as you linked) to be really helpful. If you take the time to add your owned flavours to your 'flavour stash' you can search for recipes and get loads of helpful details about each flavour you own such as what its most mixed with and what the average % it is used at in recipes or as a single flavour. It helps takes out some of the guess work when you're new and not sure where to start.
Does tasting flavours in water give a fairly accurate idea of the true flavour?

Not "accurate". Maybe "sorta kinda ballpark", maybe. I never do it. Single flavor testing is a pita, but worth doing.
I tried the water thing when I first started mixing. As was said, single flavor testing can be a bitch but it's well worth it. What's really a pain in the ass is waiting until you have 80+ flavors to start single flavor testing them and taking notes. Ask me how I know...
Oooops! How long did it take you to get through 80 odd flavours?! We have around 20 at the moment. 7 of those arrived yesterday and are mixed up in 10ml bottles ready for testing. I'll try and resist ordering anymore until we've caught up (although you know what women are like with shopping!)

They need to be dissolved and suspended in a base before use. It's much easier to just buy a menthol flavor.
Hey guys I'm pretty new to all this I wanted to share my experience so far and seek some guidance from some of the experts out there. I've been mixing for a few weeks only. So to start out I ordered my flavoring which is mainly TFA through wizard labs and also my pg/vg I've herd mixed things on that so far. Then I ordered my nic from liquid barn which I herd was a good source I immediately broke it down into 4 30ml blue bottles put three in a ziplock bag and put all of them in the freezer. So I've made a few batches without nic and the results were no throat hit. The problem I've been having is I'm getting frequent throat hits not all the time but frequent I've read this might be hotspots from my nic I went with the 100mg pg base I'm making them with 3% nic and make sure to shake up the nic very well before use. So my next move was gonna be to order the 48mg instead and I was thinking about nude nic or Carolina extract as recommended from this site. Wanted to see if I was missing anything or if there was a remedy for the hotspots thing if that's my problem also if switching to the 48 will fix that because it's more mixed up with more pg or if I need to switch to a vg nic still feel kind of un informed after some research. Don't feel my flavoring are the cause been using other people's recipes as recommended for beginners also been making my batches 70vg/30pg and have let a few steep for a few days so some insight would be great you guys have been an amazing resource so far thank you for taking the time to read all this. Also found that alltheflavors is an amazing tool for new mixers really wish I had discovered that before ordering my flavors being able to see what the most popular flavors are would have stopped me from wasting money on stuff that sounded good that I'll never use.
Shaking the nic didn't fix it? Are you shaking the finished mix thoroughly too?
A problem with throat hit shouldn't come and go if things are mixed properly. Then it's more likely to be some issue with your setup, such as insufficient wicking, coil gunk, fluctuating resistance, etc.
All of my questions are up in the body of this post. I don't even know where to start. I like 90vg/10pg 3mg and I wanted to get some flavors that would help me make a kind of peach ring juice for now. Not sure yet what other flavors I'd like to get, maybe strawberry and watermelon. Any help is much appreciated!

Is 48mg nic base diluted enough to handle without gloves?
If you get it on your hands, just wash it off right away and you're fine. I don't use gloves for 100 mg/ml, but then, I don't get any on my hands, I don't splash any into my eyes. You shouldn't leave any strength nic on your skin for long, be it 48 mg/ml or 12 mg/ml.
Moving to start making my own juice and have almost everything I need to get going. Only thing i'm missing is syringes where I'm at a complete loss about. What ones do I need and where in EU can I get them from?
Based on a glance of your profile, I'm going to assume you're in the UK. In that case check out Amazon, you should be able to find whatever you need in this regard.
Personally, I would recommend getting a precision scale (up to 2 decimal places is fine) and some disposable pipettes. I don't use the pipettes to measure by volume, but rather use them in conjunction with the scale to make sure I have the right amount of PG/VG.
Oh, and you'll discover the joy of machine learning and shopping on Amazon, where after buying a scale you'll be considered a drug dealer and your recommended items will be plastic baggies and weed grinders.

You're better off with a scale, less hassle and they're cheap, but a lot of vendors will carry DIY supplies and I'm sure you have a few in your country.

I have a question regarding how to mix with nicotine salts. If I get 100mg/ml in PG and say I want to make 15mg mix does it work the same as with my regular nicotine in a ejuice calculator, weight wise and all?
Decided I wanted to get into making my own juice and am curious if you need business license to buy nicotine? If you don't need one, where is the best place to buy it?
Side question: What would be the approximate cost of starting from complete scratch? I'll need literally everything including; bottles, syringes, bases, and flavorings.

The best place I can think of for a new mixer that is almost a one stop shop (minus a scale) is Nicotine River. They have less selection that ECX or BCF but they have all the staples a beginner could need and more.
Someone help me before I do something stupid. I'm currently testing at least a dozen mixes and I'm getting TIRED of rewicking multiple times per day, so I can avoid flavor-mixing. I'm seriously considering purchasing half a dozen, cheap RTAs to test juices in. I'll use the same build, same cotton, and run the same wattage in all of them. That way, I can vape each flavor 3-5x per day and take notes on their profiles as they steep without having to do so much leg work between flavors. Is this absurd? I feel like it's absurd...

Lmao I have a decent amount of money, because I have no time lmao. I'm thinking about getting 5 or 6 Serpent RTAs. They're ugly, but they're only $15/atty on Element Vape. I can mix a batch and actually let it steep in the tank. It's going to save me so much frustration lol. If there's an easier way, please do tell.
My personal experience is that you get tired of large scale testing in general in the long run, but having multiple vapes at hand to alternate between is never a bad thing, whether you're testing or just want the variation. So while it may sound absurd, your plan isn't as crazy as it might seem. I have more RTAs than I have juices to switch between, four of them are identical.
The alternate route would be a wickless coil in an RDA, where you simply have enough metal to hold a full puff worth of juice. You'll need to drip between each puff and this isn't how you'd want to vape continuously, but it works for quick testing and alternating flavors.
Have mixed a few flavours before but cheap kits and what not. Looking to get into doing it properly and wondering where to buy good quality PG and VG and concentrates. Thanks!

Hey everyone! I'm a new mixer and I'm working on getting some supplies to make my first couple of batches! I noticed that a lot of the more popular recipies contain Strawberry, which is a big problem for me because I am highly allergic to it. Are there any recommendations for things that can be similar to strawberry in taste and or texture for my mixes?
Tough question, especially since strawberry is often used to bind things together. I don't think there is a good replacement, but if I had to take a guess, maybe raspberry, especially TFA Raspberry Sweet. Do you know exactly what it is you're allergic to?
To strawberries themselves, and to a good deal of strawberry flavored candy. I break out in hives if I just touch a strawberry so I wanted to play it safe and not even attempt strawberry vape flavorings in case I have to break out my epi pen. Thank you so much for the advice!
Rather safe than sorry for sure. You might be interested in TFA's component lists to gain an understanding of what chemicals are used to imitate strawberry and which ones might cause a reaction so you can avoid it in other flavorings.
Hello other new mixers like myself! I am pushing through my first bout with the dreaded vape tongue that only ever affected me after I started vaping Nature's Oil VG exclusively. I tried smoking just the VG alone - still so dry I'm surprised my entire face didn't crack apart and fall the fuck off.
I mixed up a juice that was about 70/30 but still dry as hell. I ordered some PG so I can go 50/50 now, and hopefully that will make my VG vapeable. If not I will just buy some different VG and make soap out of this or something.
In the meantime I was forced to buy some "commercial" juice - poor me! The difference in my tongue after just half a tank of Hobbes' Blood is like night and day. At least now I am being reminded of the flavors that I was seeking when I started this whole venture.

Hello, I usually vape 3mg-6mg 100% VG ejuice but the local retail prices are just too unrealistic for long term use and I don't have the time to make my own juice. For the price of one 30ml bottle locally I can get 240ml of quality 0nic juice online in seperate 15ml bottles. The idea is to just add a couple drops of nic to each bottle and call it a day but I'm not sure which strength nicotine base would be best for this and how to measure such tiny quantities. At first it it seemed 36mg made sense because I would need to add less but then I saw doses at 100mg per ml. Obviously the less dilution the better but that means more difficulty measuring.
What's the easiest way to go about this? Which Nicotine Base to Buy? Which syringe is most accurate?
I'm thinking 100mg but do I really need to be in a ventilated place, be wearing gloves and eye protection and even a mask?
First of all, I doubt you get 100% VG ejuice. Most likely it is MAX VG ejuice. The difference is usually max VG juice probably is around 80% - 90% VG at best because a huge majority of flavor concentrates are PG. You can nonetheless get VG flavorings but there really aren't that many compared to the rest.
Anyhow, you can certainly get 100mg/ml nicotine for your purposes, if you want 3mg/ml juice, you would put in approximately 0.5 ml of the nicotine solution into your juice (assuming a 15mL bottle). Normally, people would recommend a scale for mixing, but if you purely just want to get premade juice and put nicotine into it, a syringe or pipette will be absolutely fine.
As for vendors, storage and usage of your nicotine, there is a very well written guide in detail on the sidebar, titled "All About Nicotine". It is true that 100mg/ml nicotine can be dangerous, but it's not as bad as it sounds. If you can trust yourself to not get it in your mouth or your eyes, you should be fine for the most part, though as they say, better safe than sorry. And of course, wash your working area and hands after you're done.
Does anyone get a hash throat hit from INW Shisha Vanilla? It's not unbearable, but it is pretty unpleasant. Almost unvapeable to me. Whether it's a standalone or in a mix. I can't go more than a couple of drags before I have to rewick and change my juice.

After a few tests, I may be very insensitive to Strawberry ripe taste. Like I can only taste some sweetness and not much of the Strawberry. That's a shame, because I kind o like the mother of dragon's milk and Unicorn milk, even without that taste.
I wondered if there are some alternatives recipe, maybe with other fruit topping (raspberry maybe?) or just adding another strawberry to up the taste (Cap sweet strawberry maybe?) . Any thoughts?

Ive never tried CAP sweet strawberry but substitution is where it's at if you got it.
Try FlavourArt's Strawberry if you dont get what you need from that one.

A number of people are stawberry non-tasters and it breaks my heart. Some people who can't taste TFA strawberries and CAP Sweet Strawberry have had some luck with FA Strawberry and with INW Shisha Strawberry. Try adding 1% FA Strawberry to the Mother of Dragons' Milk recipe and see if that works you. Add, not sub, because the maltol in the Strawberry Ripe is doing some work in there whether you taste the strawberry or not. 0.5% INW Shisha Strawberry would probably work too if that one doesn't. If you don't have either of those and only have CAP Sweet Strawberry, you could adding try 2%, but I'm not sure it will help. Sticking a raspberry flavor in there sounds like an even better idea than CAP Sweet Strawberry, I might have to try that myself.
What Unicorn Milk recipe are you using?
I don't have any other raspberry. I am going to make an order today, and was wondering which flavor can I get to have a better flavor. I just found that CAP Sweet SB was pretty popular.

FA Strawberry should help you with the MoDs' milk if you get it. Adding 1% Sweet Raspberry in the meantime might be really tasty. In the Unicorn Milk, I'd replace 3% of the Strawberry Ripe (leaving in 7%) with Sweet Raspberry.
Can anyone explain what the benefits of soaking a newly made juice in a "hot bath" are? I've seen this term floating around but unsure what effects it would have. thanks
The primary purpose of slightly heating a mix is to make VG less viscous, thereby allowing for a faster and more even homogenization with the flavors, but it's only useful in specific situations under very specific circumstances.
A hot water bath does not really qualify as there's no stirring during the process. You'd have to repeatedly pick it up to shake it every now and then for this to even make sense.
You're also likely to overheat the juice, which is bad in many ways. The purpose is to bring out the flavor, but what most will find is that they actually destroy some of the flavor. It's just a bad practice that I wish people would stop recommending.
Hey y'all, following the 'Copy of Logical Increments beta v2' google doc I found on this sub, I've ordered carolina xtract nic (120ml), wizard labs VG (1 gal), 120mL twist top squeeze bottle for the VG, the AWS LB-501 scale, a variety pack of syrringes, big bag of 1mL pipettes (disposable), some chubby gorilla bottles (I'm a fan already), and about 20 TFA 8ml flavorings from wizard labs (kinda went a bit crazy).
My question is the standard "Hey, while I wait for the nic from CX, is there anything else I'm missing and should order?" and also, how the hell should I store my VG, nic, and flavorings? I've heard freezer and fridge before. The CX bottle looks like it comes with a dropper and seals well, so I was thinking it's safe to store in the bottle it comes in, and the VG will have a 1gal main storage, and a 120mL 'active use' bottle. Should both go in the fridge? freezer? one or the other?
Also, I've previously downloaded the JuiceCalculator desktop app to try and get a breakdown of the by-weight dosing for making juice. It seems very clunky when trying to use, and I was wondering if I should just choke through this app and learn it, or if there's another resource to utilize.
Oh, and one other thing, If I'm making a bottle with two different flavors, one is a recommended @ 8%, and the other is at someting like 5%, how much of each flavor should I use? (numbers pulled outta the air, I'm more interested in the concept of a 'starting' ratio for two different flavors of different strengths)

Both those sites have recipe calculators and both have options to search by flavor. Do that and view the notes and recipes. There will also be recommended percentages for both single and multi flavor recipes. Also, if you are mixing by weight you won't need those syringes.
Thanks for the links, I'll run through those when I get a chance. I know the syringes are unnecessary, but I went ahead and picked them up just to have the option to do volumetric mixing. 9 dollars to essentially double my potential mixing method seemed like a good deal.
I ordered all the flavors to make the easy Custody recipe from the sidebar except one - instead of CAP NY Cheesecake, I got TPA cheesecake (graham crust). After making a mix (Kiwi cheesecake) with that flavor I realize they might not be as interchangeable as I'd hoped. Any recs for adapting the Custody recipe to use the TPA cheesecake/graham instead? Percentage? Should I increase any other flavor to make up for the lack of NY cheesecake? Thanks guys! Having a blast mixing so far!

Turns out I've been using CAP Dragonfruit thinking it was TFA. And there I was, wondering why all the recipes didn't work it for me.

New to mixing. I get the concept of measuring different quantities of pg and nicotine by volume and weight, I'm just confused about flavoring. For example, if I have flavor A that recommends 6% and another flavor B that recommends 6%, do I put both in at 6% to a total of 12% or only 3% of each for a total of 6%?

Like cooking, there are methods to the madness. You really want to read ALL the stuff linked in the sidebar before you go buying supplies. Sorry about the 'information overload' but they are really well written and will save you a lot of headaches. The links here https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/wiki/index should minimally be read. It will cover most of what you need to know to get started. Starter kits can be okay but usually there are cheaper ways to get supplies when sourcing them separately.
Thanks for the prompt reply. Did some reading, watched some videos. Nicotine importation is set to be made illegal here within two weeks. I'm on the other side of the world compared to most Redditors so shipping is a major factor to me. Ordering 10-50ml of flavour concentrates from TFA ends up being silly expensive due to shipping.
I've decided on 3x 100ml 100mg strength nicotine from HILIQ and will source pipettes/glassware etc locally. Will also stick to local flavours/juice for the time being.
For large, premixed flavor batches (just concentrates) what kind of caps/dispensers do you guys use? Or do you just pour the premix straight into your juice bottle with a funnel or something like that? I'm currently stuck between getting some 4oz HDPE bottles with dispenser caps and just squeezing the premix into the juice bottle or getting some 4oz glass bottles and pouring the premix into the juice bottle with a funnel.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but when I premix concentrates, I just put them in a regular bottle and squeeze what I need into the mix, just like when I mix with individual concentrates.

Gotcha, well if you're going to be using it frequently, plastic is far more convenient, whereas glass is better at retaining flavors in the long term. Not all plastic is suitable for concentrated flavors either, some of the flavor may get stuck in the plastic and carried into subsequent mixes, and it can crack or even melt in some circumstances. Go with what suits you the best but if the choice is plastic, pay attention to potential issues and don't make huge batches until you're confident that it will work.
Just finished my 1st ever diy attempt and it actually turned out ok (to my utter amazement! ). got the kit in the post today with 4 concentrates. strawberry milkshake, blueberry muffin, banoffee pie and double cream. mixed up a 5ml batch of banoffee pie to a 30/70 PG/VG ratio and 6mg nicotine. gave it a quick shake and vape test and the nicotine is just right, as is cloud production. However flavour isn't that strong, just a real mild hint of banana. as this is my 1st attempt I'm struggling to decide whether to steep for a week or two, or add a touch more flavouring. any tips?
First, be advised that you're posting in last week's thread, here's the new one. Repost this there and be sure to include what brands these concentrates are (I've never heard of them) and what percentage you used them at.
I'll answer in general terms that steeping will help bring out the flavor, a few days will be enough to reach the peak, then as time goes on the notes will start to fall into place, sharper notes will dissipate and finer notes become more prominent, etc. It may be that the banana is supposed to be subtle, but you can absolutely try adding a bit more and see if you can tell any difference. The only risk is wasting concentrate and that the mix will become too strong in a few days.
Hey guys, i just ordered a kit from LiquidBarn and picked some flavors i think i will like or will work with what i want to make. i really enjoy fruity juices, some of my favorites are TBD liquids-pineapple peach smoothie and Space jam-astro. i could not find any clones of the TBD juice so i made this one up. what else would you guys recommend i make with what i ordered and what do you guys think of my recipe. thanks guys!
Hi, there's a new thread out, you might want to post there instead. I can't comment on the flavors as that is a brand I have no experience with, most prefer to use more popular brands so they can share recipes and advice. Your recipe looks like it could work, you'll just have to give it a try :) You can probably combine those flavors pretty freely, although testing them solo first so you know what you're working with is always a good idea.

Hi I mixed olive oil and THC wax and THC concentrate And ejuice. I saw it as a great way to kill all the birds with one stone with the intention of vaping. OK that's a no. Thanks for saving me (only took a few hits should I be worried)
So now I want to take out the ejuice and put it in an edible for oral consumption. There's like 60$+ in there.
So how do I get the ejuice to evaporate or seperate
i would just chalk it up as a loss. the only possible way you could do somethin with it is slowly boil it but depending how much vg or pg you used its probably not a good idea. without those it would be easier. but thc for consumption wont do anything to you unless you cook it first anyway. thc needs to be heat activated. idk how vg or pg would boil in a pan but i wouldnt really try it if i were u
