It tastes so good but the flavor feels chemically on the back of the inhale. When mixed with my Bavarian cream it doesn't hold the cherry flavor very well, just kinda goes flat.
20 of 80vg no nic black cherry at 7%
I'm also getting mixed signals from a couple different sites that sell the flavor. Some say mix all the way at 15% others say 8% but at either of those the chemicals taste is way stronger. Any preferred mixes for just the single flavor?
If it was me, I wouldn't go any higher than what you're already using- you'll end up with that cherry cough syrup note. If you're concern is that the flavor is falling too flat with creams, you could try adding like 0.5% Dragon Fruit. You might lose a touch of the cherry, but it should help it pop a bit more. Sweetener is also an option.
Personally, I never had any luck with TFA's black cherry, but I adore FA Black Cherry. Reminds me exactly of black cherry Kool-Aid.
Do you think going lower (say 5%) might do some good? Its only on the back note do I get the chemical flavor. I just don't want to lose that rich cherry I get on the front end
Try it lower and see what you think. In my experience, if I'm getting that chemical taste on the backend of fruits or an overpowering sourness with creams, it usually means I'm using too much. It's all preferences, though, and everyone's palate is different.
I think there are just certain flavors that fall flat regardless. You can always trying doing mixes of the same flavor of multiple concentrates. For example, I usually do a 3:1 ratio of TFA Strawberry Ripe to TFA Strawberry to get my ideal strawberry. So play around with other cherries when you get the chance.
And again, this is my preference, but I find lower is better with cherry. Like, I would never go over 2% with FA Black Cherry.
I'd say try it lower. Highest I've taken it was 3.5% and I think that was pushing it
