Setup: Derringer RDA, Single 7 wrap 26g 3mm Kanthal Clapton @ 1.08 ohms. 42w power, Koh Gen Doh cotton wick.
Testing: FA Watermelon or "Red Summer" @ 2% 70/30 VG/PG, Steeped 0 days.
Flavor Description: At 2% I am getting a very faint sweet watermelon flesh flavor. Almost no rind at all. Flavor is definitely on the lighter side. Kicked it up to 4% concentration. Still just coming through as a faint sweet watermelon flesh. No candy-like flavor at all with just a small amount of rind. Said "fuck it" and cranked it up to 6%. This flavor (at least to me) is super weak, faint. I get almost no flavor except the whisper of ripe watermelon flesh. Maybe I have a "no watermelon for you" gene?
Off-flavors: None unless you are counting it's lack of strength as an off-flavor.
Throat Hit: None
Uses & Pairings: I am thinking this would pair with the usual suspects like cactus and kiwi; however, I'm afraid it might get buried quick if not mixed carefully.
Notes:
It seems FA changed the name or sells both watermelon and red summer depending on where you are located. Kudos for the confusion, FA!
From what I've read most people find this to be a more realistic watermelon than other offerings with a bit of a drying throat hit. I get no throat hit and almost no watermelon flavor so YMMV.
Second Opinions: A good discussion of the various watermelon flavors including FA Watermelon.
Hilariously named recipe from that previous thread "Strap On".
Edit: I don't know whether I should be proud or ashamed that I am the first "NSFW" flavor review...
Am I the only one seeing this for this post?

Strange stuff...
Edit: still seeing this... and link is NSFW
I've only found one watermelon that I actually like, INW Watermelon. All you need is around 3% to get a rich, strong watermelon flavor. Every other brand I've tried takes an obscene amout of flavoring to barely get a hint of flavor.
I like my Melon flavors to have a strong in your face flavor and INW watermelon does that for me.
INW watermelon huh , OK then i must obtain immediately .
Thank you
Are you sure? I've tried it at 2.5% once and I got an odd, chemical taste.
Watermelon INW - 3%
Watermelon LA - 8%
Wild Melon FLV - 2%
Marshmallow TFA - 1%
Jackfruit - 2%
This is what I've been mixing with it. I don't notice any off flavors with it. I can see why you would think that though, I have noticed some mixes with it can kind of get a funky tasting off note.
The only time I get an off pepper chemical taste from it is when I go beyond 3.5% personally.
Somethings going on with your tasters or you got a bad bottle or something. I get solid watermelon flavor even as low as 2%, though this is one of the few FA fruits that you might want to push up to 5%. It's a very realistic watermelon taste but the texture or to be more precise, moisture, is way off. It tastes almost like freeze-dried watermelon. Which is ridiculous. I mean, watermelons are wet AF. It's right there in the name. Watermelon. Cactus, FA Pear, and others are good at helping with that weird dryness though.
In addition to the Strawberry-Apple-Watermelon recipe you linked to in your review, I'm hearing some people really dig this recipe I used it in: Bare Necessities and this one by /u/Philosaphucker, Green Tinged.
It's an absolutely fantastic flavouring. It's comparable to INW Kaktus as an additive to make a juice "wetter" as well as having that watery, juicy, mellow flavour. Spot on in my book, this one.
I see what you did there and I like it. I never think to bold stuff to make it obvious. I didn't click on the recipe to explain why it had the name, so this was helpful.
I think you're right about my bottle being a dud. I plan on tasting it again this evening to see if maybe my tongue wasn't working properly. I was really looking forward to this one, but it just would not come through for whatever reason.
Also, I was chuckling hard looking at that Strap-on recipe. Definitely will give it and the bare necessities a go. That Green Tinged looks fucking fantastic as well.
my tasting notes.
This is much a more authentic watermelon than TFA’s version. It is also much smother. It is a fairly weak flavour @5%, but the flavour I’m getting is a just overripe watermelon, that bit right in the middle of a watermelon that is a darker pink than the rest. No white part, no rindy bitterness. Decent vapour, no throat hit.
I don't care for FA Watermelon. I don't get much flavor from it either and the little I do, I don't know. I would try INW Watermelon if you haven't already. It's the most realistic watermelon I've tried to date and I don't get the harsh throat hit that I get from every other watermelon.
are you sure FA sells 2 watermelon flavors? I can only find one
kinda in a rush out the door right meow though. Idk and could be wrong.
If so anyone got dem vendor links?
btw Nice review this one is in the mail so Im excited.
As Boondoc pointed out, there are some vendors using the Red Touch/Summer name for whatever reasons.
FA watermelon mines just labelled FA Anguria/watermelon (UK purchase) is this different to red summer?
