Just made my first mix (grack juice). Is it supposed to be this colour / cloudy?
submitted over 8 years ago by v-tecjustkickedinyo

As the title says, I just mixed up my first 30ml bottle. Figured the contest winner would be a good juice to start with.

From what I've read cloudiness is nothing to worry about but just want an idea of what it should look like when mixed up correctly!

Thanks

I shall do my best. If you get the chance, give it a few days to come together more. Welcome to DIY! A wonderful world awaits!

I'm guessing you've tried a lot of grape flavors. Have you tried FLV Grape? I'm looking to make a similar juice to yours but can't buy any concentrates right now so I'm just wondering how it compares to INW Grapes? The flv flavor is likely more of a fake grape than inw.

I haven't really. ^^Shhhhhhhh!
As far as I understand, FLV Grape is more candy-like though. INW Grapes is definitely like shoving a fistful of mixed grapes in your face though.

Well I just made a bastardized version of your juice with the FLV grape and no koolada with much less cactus at 1%. I didn't have any raspberry so I used 10 drops of fa forest fruit after mixing it up which should be roughly .25% and that helped it. Very interesting flavor even using this other grape, not bad.

I'll need to get inw grapes. I've been looking for a good grape flavor and I'm sure this juice would be way different with it.

This is fine, I think it's the koolada or the cactus. Happens to most of my recipes that I use them in. It will go crystal clear overnight

Yeah it's been a couple of hours now and it's almost cleared up!

Some of my mixes turn out like that, especially ones with pineapple and lemonade flavors. It should be fine

I have tfa pineapple that clouds any juice if I use over 1%

It's fine, many recipes will look like that when shaken vigorously! Let me know how you like it when you vape it, thought of trying it myself.

Ok well I've just put it in and first impressions I'd say it tastes really good! Better than some of the bought ones I have. The only thing I will say is that it could do with less nicotine but that's my fault. I put in 0.6% or 6mg/ml but could easily be better with 3 or even 2 I reckon)

Once you start diying you'll never want store bought juice, it's too sweet IMO...

Yeah, buying is such a money loss....think about it. You can even clone the crap your buying and make it taste even better (; welcome to DiY

Did you take the picture within an hour of shaking it? Cause it could just be the bubbles my man.

Pretty normal. Mine started to turn to a pale yellow/golden tint within a day or so. Here is a quick upload of the color after a month.

PS to /u/Philosaphucker: following up on your comment about the shelf life. I really tried to make it last but you can see how much damage a month will incur. It wasn't even an ADV most days...just couldn't stop after one tank when I did change to it though. Overall the change in time is subtle. Haven't had much change in flavor overall other than some of the floral and undertones smoothing out more and melding together. It's not bad, but still slightly different experience than a fresh batch. It kind of reminds me of eating Ben & Jerry's frozen vs letting it melt then diving in. Not quite as cool, but still good enough to not realize that your spoon is already hitting the bottom!

Haha nice. Thanks for the follow up! The furthest I have gotten was mixing up a bottle and then forgetting about it for two weeks. My largest bottles are 30 ml so once I open it, it is pretty much done for. It is good to know that it doesn't turn to shit after a month, though!

in my experience, the koolada and lemon add that "foggy" look to the juice, no worries

I want to make this SOOOOO bad but just can't lay out the cash for the flavors right now. I'll just vape it vicariously through posts like these. :D

Could you tell us what the recipe is? Sometimes juice can be cloudy depending on the type of flavorings/etc you are using

I can't seem to copy and paste on my phone but it's the top one on this thread:

I'm guessing it may be the Cactus?? Someone with more knowledge about those specific flavors can chime in. A lot of times citrus is the culprit for a cloudy mixture. I don't think there is anything necessarily wrong with it/dangerous.
